EMB Blog: 2024 Regular Season (Part 2) ... and Playoffs

He's a soft **** with a capital B when it matters most.

Not to mention he always like always calls out his teammates or coaches.

Joel Embiid has averaged 23.3 points, 11.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 11 games in elimination games in his career.

He isn't soft at all.  Someone who is soft would not play with the injuries he has had throughout his career.  You can call him injury prone but you can't call him soft.  Philadelphia has the absolute worst fanbase of ignorant people completely underserving of witnessing any sports success.

The odds he has overcome in his career, especially coming out of college to come close to having anything close to the career he has had.  Then add on top of it all of the major injures he has had in or right before the playoffs and continued to play through them despite that only to get next to no respect from the window shopping fair weather fans that are Philadelphia sports fans is just disgusting.  He has given so much physically for this city and has gotten absolutely no thanks for it.

Says the guy who was glad Foles broke his collarbone so he wouldn't have to see him play for the Eagles anymore... Just for him to come back and win a super bowl and you still hate the guy. Yeah you are one to talk about disgusting philly fans.

Don’t feel confident about today’s game. However, a loss means almost nothing.

Just really don’t want to lose the Steelers and have to hear their stupid yinzer fanbase

Yeah, it would be nice to win and give us a continued shot at #1 however small AND it would also bring us closer to getting a chance to rest players in the last week or two.

I think we'll be fine.

A loss would suck, but it wouldn't destroy the season.

All of the "drama" around this team and talk of an implosion will skyrocket if they don't win though

What success? He sees himself as an elite player and yet can't make it past the 2nd round because his fat ass loves Chik Fli A too much. Yet, let's wonder why he has bum knees.

Dude is soft and comes up small when it matters the most.

Embiid will be compensated over 500 million for "giving so much" so cry a Fing river for getting no thanks.

What a loser take.

Depends on how they lose should that happen

Battle of Pennsylvania!  Hurts has to play well for the team to win this game.  AJ wants the ball to come to him.  The Steelers are strong on defending runs.  Quick passes for short gains could be effective.  The offense needs to get some points early.  Falling behind a good team with strong defense would be a deep hole to climb out.  Go Birds!

I would not be surprised if Hubbard and Stroud light up the cowpads today and only CeeDee shows up in their offense, which is not nearly enough. I think Parsons is near his breaking point with his teammates and that the right choice for Jerruh to make is to let him go rather than extend him because the relationship is getting fractured.  We all saw how frustrated Parson was on the sidelines last week.

I actually think they set up a double move for AJ....fakes slant and goes.....

Over the last six weeks, the Steelers rank top three in pass defense but in the bottom three against the run by DVOA, and they're in the bottom three by EPA and Success Rate over that stretch too. This is the exact wrong matchup for a sneaky bad run defense against the league's run-heaviest attack and best run-blocking line in the league.

He only needs about 120 yards a game but Id like to see him actually only be about 50 away in the final week.

I'm so tired of hearing about AJ/Jalen. Can't wait to get to actual football.

Me too.

I really thought Belichick would be back in the NFL this next year.  He's so close to the all time wins record.  I'm really surprised he didn't want to go for that.  Maybe he will only spend 1-2 years at UNC and come back to the NFL.

I wonder though if Andy Reid might have a shot at the wins record.   He's 51 away, I think.  He coaches 5 more years at at least 10 wins a year, probably more as long as Mahomes is his QB,  there's a good chance he breaks it.  Might even do it in 4 years.

"Jalen's stoic personality has worn on Eagles people before"

Notice how there are never any reports of AJ Brown wearing thin on Eagles people? Everyone seems to love the guy from coaches to players. So sick of people painting him as a problem.

Reid deserves it way more than Belicheat. Though he's 58 away from Shula if you mean regular season wins rather than total wins (reg + playoffs). Still doable in 4-5 years.

Soft, what a joke.  No doubt about it you're as round as a ball sitting in your lazy boy calling Embiid soft when he's one of the toughest athletes to come through this town.  Disgrace.

I don't have Foles anymore.  I haven't hated him since the Super Bowl.  I just don't see him as anything more than what he was and that's one of the more prolific journeyman QBs the NFL has had.
