we tried that on our 10 year anniversary. 5 day cruise to Bermuda. And all we kept thinking and saying is oh the kids would have loved this, or that. Thought about them constantly and felt bad not taking them.

You do a cool vacation with them and short getaway without.  Love my kids,  but a little break does wonders.

Hedonism was a blast back in the day with the ex.

We never had kids together.

Although I'm shocked none were conceived that week

Yes, but the total unplug from parenting with no kids in sight is money.

I hear you. Is just that Ellie is still too young for us to do that.

My kids were 2.  Drop them off with the grandparents and have a good time.  Grandarents love having them.  Gets harder when they have school and activities.  Logistics you don't want to drop on your parents.

Doubt it. Joey D probably spilled the beans after he got fired.

Whoever made the decision to go get Aaron Rodgers deserves to be fired; I’ve always assumed that was Woody Johnson.  I get that they didn’t have any great options at QB after both Darnold and Zach Wilson flamed out and it was pretty much just Rodgers and Derek Carr left …. but Rodgers was just such a bad choice for organizational culture, which is always bad with the Jets.  They felt like they were a QB away, but I really didn’t.

Even now, I think Carr would have been a better choice.  Not flashy and likely wouldn’t have made the Jets any more than a wildcard team, but Rodgers was just guaranteed dysfunction waiting to happen.

Just imagine if it didn't take them so long to get good coordinators.

Darnold balling in Minesota has to be grinding their gears.

He also clearly moved towards valuing measurables, athleticism and potential more than he had before.

Almost all of our picks seem to be impressive HWS prospects.

I think Stoutland has shown Howie a model:

1) Get high end coaches

2) Use consensus draft board

3) Weight evaluations towards plus athletes

4) Use Lurie’s long term stability and trade arb to accumulate assets

Over time this gives the Eagles an edge.

And lately, (5) Spend non-Cap money buying injury insurance on expensive players to replenish Cap space if disaster strikes.

And in Emmitt’s era, franchise rb was essentially equivalent to franchise qb in importance and even stature.

Not in Dallas.  Emmitt was always a second class POC and Troy was a golden boy.

Interesting — I didn’t know this was even a thing.

Curious on your take of Alabama center Parker Brailsford.

He seems to be even a bit smaller than Kelce, but the athleticism, range and ability to get low on lineman reminds me of a young Kelce.

No opinion, Haven’t seen a Bama game this year. Sorry.

What in the world are we doing here??? I thought the Eagles wordmark was a downgrade. I'm a minimalist at heart but this new minimalist design trend is just garbage.

The thing that really grinds my gears is that I guarantee that they had the marketing team spend hundreds of hours on that and someone probably made a good chunk of change in doing so.  Basically typing in Jaguar into Microsoft Word and then going through all the possible font types.  Show of hands who likes Times New Roman.

It looks like this to me: JaGUar.  At least the new Eagles logo has some consistency and I wasn't a huge fan of the wings coming out of the E and S on the old logo.  I think the minimalism in terms of font choice isn't that bad but they need to add dimension.  To me, it would look much better if they just did something like:

Look at all those AFC teams.  Eagles are #1 in the NFC and it's not even close.

Good names on that list.  Eric Allen isn't in because he has no rings, otherwise he absolutely is deserving.

Eli will go in because of his rings.  His regular season numbers were good / not great.
