The thing that really grinds my gears is that I guarantee that they had the marketing team spend hundreds of hours on that and someone probably made a good chunk of change in doing so.  Basically typing in Jaguar into Microsoft Word and then going through all the possible font types.  Show of hands who likes Times New Roman.

Jaguar
JAGUAR

Think about the dollars behind those hundreds of hours.

At the risk of being vilified, I have to agree. Ben Smith before his injury was better, as was Troy Vincent. An argument can be made for Lito Sheppard, Slay, and Asante Samuel, none of whom are HOF material.

Asante Samuel was HOF material for his game prep.  (Not enough but one of the best at film prep of all time.) Given his mediocre speed, he really was impressive for how well he knew the tells of each receiver and QB.   Would be so interesting to see how he would handle AJ, who is so talented in not revealing the catch is on its way.

Troy should get in for his executive role.  He’s borderline HOF material as a player.

Allen was a fun player but not the best CB on that list.

Huff wasn't contributing much anyway. Get him back in December and hope he can finally figure it out in time for the playoffs.

Thinking about the defense today… who would you say is not playing well or above expectation?

I was hard pressed to come up with an answer outside of Huff. Davis is disappointing only in that he hasn’t developed as a pass rusher, but he’s playing really well vs the run. CJGJ started off rough but is playing much better of late.

Rookie corners tend to suck, but Mitchell and DeJean are ballin’. Slay is playing well. Blankenship is his usual steady self who somehow never drops a pick. Baun is like tue second best LB in football. Dean is a legit starter. Carter might not be a DPOY candidate, but he’s excellent. The rotation guys — Ojomo, Booker have flashed. Graham is plying as well as he has in years. Smith is a developing.

It’s just an incredible year of development.

The only thing that is missing from the defense is what they thought they had by signing Huff.

Could be coming from ownership, but this reeks of Joe Schoen again being cheap at the wrong time. Quibble over money with Saquon and McKinney, yet give $10m a year to Jon Runyan Jr and $5m a year to a RB who got beat out by a 5th round pick.

They had a great draft though.

Zach Baun on GMFB today.

I think E Allen’s case is more in the stat column. He amassed some gaudy stats in an era with less passing. I don’t remember at the time thinking "this guy is a sure fire HOFer” though.

They're aiming for high society types (and wannabes) who buy weird $10,000 refrigerators and $600 Balenciaga T-shirts.

Definitely not for me, but I think it's a good move. Can't imagine they're doing great. Do you know anyone, especially under 60, who drives a Jaguar?

When I was working my way through college (back in the dark ages) at a grocery store in the nouveau rich are of Houston, I had a customer (for wine, her housekeeper did the grocery shopping), in her late forties, early fifties, that owned two cars, a Jag and a reliable car because the Jag was in the shop every other week.

Eunice was a very attractive woman but she and her husband had worked their way to riches.  He was a wildcat oilman, with a geologist background and she managed the business early on.  She really wanted me to date her daughter, who had her mom’s good looks but none of the drive or intelligence of her parents.  The daughter was like your description above.  Eunice wasn’t.  She owned the Jag for its drive ability.  I know because Eunice let me drive the Jag to her home from the shop a couple of times.  She thought I was doing her a favor.  (No, I didn’t date the daughter.  Suspect she ended up with another of those silver spoon kids.)

I am wondering about how the wrist was impacting his ability to see the field.  He likes a four point stance and tackling and playing off a blocker with one hand is troublesome.

We're very likely to make the playoffs and will likely need Huff to make some big rushes in a key spot. Good decision.

Putting him on IR also allows us to put a 3rd TE on the roster too.

About 10 years ago I test drove a 2011 XJ Supercharged.  It was the most fun I've ever had on a test drive; the power was almost instantaneous.  Really moved for a big sedan -- 470 HP and 424 lb-feet of torque.  I likely would have bought it, but the dealer wouldn't budge on price.

Good timing for the edge rushers too. Smith has really come on and Hunt has been getting his feet wet. Howie has done a good job building depth.

Back in the 60s I had a friend who drove an XKE, which he let me drive on occasion. That thing was a rocket. Never got it above 120 but it had a lot left.

Sixers continuously have drama on and off the court. Just go back and look from Bynum onward how many ridiculous stories they’ve had. They are circus. almost every year there’s some major drama or circus like story.

They just gave a guy with one working knee a 3-year 200 mil extension

Gonna get stuck with him cause no one is trading for a 31 year old center with 4 years left on his contract and so far this year looks cooked. They basically have to hope he turns it around cause if he doesn’t basically stuck with him and PG til they are expiring contracts. . So basically keep the picks you have and hope you hit on another star player.

My kids were 2.  Drop them off with the grandparents and have a good time.  Grandarents love having them.  Gets harder when they have school and activities.  Logistics you don't want to drop on your parents.

I won’t get into it but that’s not really an option TBH.  Maybe when she is 5 or 6.

On the plus side, I now have been here long enough to tip enough and charm the bartenders enough that we are getting proper pours.

So if we can get TNF, I apologize in advance blog.

Leaving for Portugal tomorrow. Will miss the Rams game. Y'all better man up in my absence.
