Snap-weighted age through Week 11

Five youngest teams: Packers, Giants, Chargers, Titans, Jaguars
Five oldest teams: Dolphins, Vikings, 49ers, Falcons, Browns

Eagles
Offense: 18
Defense: 27
Overall: 27

8-2 is good for a young team!

7 catches averaging 4.9 yards. Nothing remotely worth getting excited about. People wanted to run Greg Ward out of town because he was averaging 9 ypc. I could be talked in to Covey on PR to give DeJean you can't convince me Covey needs to be on the field on offense.

4.9 yards per reception on our WR screens is a noticeable improvement over the previous guys. He also had another 2 receptions for 21 more yards called back.

Here are his receptions from last year (most from the final regular season game:

That should be reason enough to put him in HOF. He saved us from the „then hated" Patriots having the perfect season.😅

I'm sorry but I had no enjoyment watching the Giants win a Super Bowl. None. Zero. F em.

If Covey loses a spot and Ainias Smith is on the team, someone in the FO is on drugs.

Covey developed into one of the best PRs in the league

Agree. I would much rather Brady have 9 Super Bowl wins and Foles be the only QB to ever beat him in the big game

Agreed - if the team is a meritocracy, Covey stays.

Is this Eli's first time on the ballot? If so, he should not get in.

He will just so the Mannings can do a HOF TV Special.

IMO first ballot is such a nonsense thing to get bent out of shape about. If someone is a hall of famer, it’s irrelevant whether they got in on ballot 1, 2 or 5

I would add that DeJean was a tick faster than Covey in the 40 and is 25 pounds heavier. I can understand why you want DeJean to be the hitter rather than the hittee except in certain situations. I would also add that having Dotson makes Covey superfluous except as depth.

It's not whether they're a first ballot HOF or not, it's whether other guys on the list are more deserving. Not everyone on the list actually gets in, which is why I said Eli shouldn't. He'll have another crack and will/should get in.

Dotson has 9 catches in 10 games and Covey has 7 in basically 2.5 games.  Covey should be used for bubble screens and jet sweeps

What's Covey's average YAC on screens, etc. compared to pretty much every WR here in the Sirianni era? I'd be shocked if it's not the best, he's been the only guy, certainly in 2023/2024, who looks decent there.

Interesting observation: Eli is the only QB on that list

I listened to NFL Radio this morning and they had Brian Hoyer co-hosting; he was asked who on that list should be first-ballot HOF worthy.  He gave Eli Manning as his first answer and then, in Patriot fashion, gave Adam Vinatieri as his second answer.  Hard disagree from me.  Vinatieri was an excellent FG kicker but, IMO, did not stand out from other kickers of the same era -- he just played on teams at the top of the standings so he kicked in bigger games.

His career was from 1996-2019 and his career FG % is 83.776%.  Impressive to be sure, but his stats don't stand out above other guys of the same era:

Matt Stover (1991-2009) -- 83.659%

Ryan Longwell (1997-2012) -- 83.18%

Phil Dawson (1999-2018) -- 83.84%

I don't think playing on perennial contenders in of itself makes you more of a Hall of Famer.

It sure helped Phil Rizzuto though.

What a shame he got injured and then a TBI vs Seattle. He was never the same. As good as he was that year I don't think he would have kept pace with Brady the way Foles did.

I wouldn't say I got enjoyment out of it, but F Tom Brady, he deserved to lose those two Super Bowls, and at least 3 others.

Yep. I was in a house full of Eagles fans all cheering for them and taking joy out of watching Brady lose

Same here.  But I would have had even less enjoyment watching the Pats complete the perfect season.  Cheetahs never prosper.

Shame what happened to him

They should just go ahead and change the name to "Hall of Guys who had Memorable Playoff Games".

Yeah, l've only ever rooted for the Giants twice, and it was in those super bowls. I remember being out with some friends at Clyde's for the undefeated season on the line and the entire restaurant/bar erupted when the Giants won.  There weren't even many Giants fans there, but everyone just wanted to see the Pats lose!
