Snap-weighted age through Week 11

Five youngest teams: Packers, Giants, Chargers, Titans, Jaguars
Five oldest teams: Dolphins, Vikings, 49ers, Falcons, Browns

Eagles
Offense: 18
Defense: 27
Overall: 27

8-2 is good for a young team!

So, if my math is right the Eagles are the 6th youngest team

I would add that DeJean was a tick faster than Covey in the 40 and is 25 pounds heavier. I can understand why you want DeJean to be the hitter rather than the hittee except in certain situations. I would also add that having Dotson makes Covey superfluous except as depth.

I see Dotson and Covey as very different.  I can't see Dotson running slants into the middle of the field, but I can see Covey in that role.  Someone in the past compared Covey's potential to Julian Edelman and/or Cole Beasley ... potential, not production.  If he and Hurts can build chemistry/connection, then I don't think that is an off the wall comparison.

It sure helped Phil Rizzuto though.

I was surprised that Hurts targeted Covey like he did. Jalen isn't known for targeting guys he doesn't trust - a lot. Given that DeJean has become a major part of the secondary it wouldn't break my heart if he isn't doing punt returns. Let the guy who was ranked second(?) last year in the league in punt returns do that. Let Michell and DeJean haunt wide receivers' dreams.

You and I are on the same page.  My suspicion about the increased targeting of Covey is that it grew out of the preseason practices.

But no DeVonta

They might give him a game off to get him back to 100% we'll see.

I think the only reason Covey got a lot of looks early in the year was because Brown was out for those games. I don’t recall Covey getting any action in Brazil. So I doubt he’ll feature much from here on, barring injury.

Never completely understand the court systems.  It's like you get 5 years for rape, 20 years for murder, and 50 years for defrauding COVID-19

Part of the sentence may have been for defrauding the Eagles too, pretending he could play RB.

Most of what you see with cases like this maximum sentence based on all charges, which don't happen often. Some people get lengthy prison sentences for major cases like Madoff. He's not going to get 50 years.

Classy guy

Jones ran a 4.8 40, which is a bit slow for safety, but not out oft he realm of possibility.  While he's a terrible QB, he might actually be able to play safety?

It would be entertaining as hell if he got in the game at safety.  Absolutely terrible for the NYG organization, but very amusing to watch.

Really no room for Covey on the team. Who are they getting rid of to bring him up? What snaps is he even deserving of? The team clearly like Anias Smith and they aren't going to release him. DeJean is just as good at PR. The only argument is taking DeJean off of PR softens the risk for injury to him.

Byron Young?

I mean, we all know what's coming, but this is beyond odd.  Is a release imminent?

Also, what's the scar on his head?  He have a lobotomy or something?

Is from when he fell over in the open field when playing the eagles

Very strange announcement. Definitely a goodbye

Odd to give a statement after being benched

Definitely his goodbye. He knows he's done with the Giants.

Yeah, I'm guessing they said he is done.

We wouldn't have even won more than 5 games that year, much less the Super Bowl without Smallwood.
