You and I are on the same page.  My suspicion about the increased targeting of Covey is that it grew out of the preseason practices.

It grew out of the fact that he was targeted 6 times against the Falcons, in the game without AJ Brown.  Dotson had only been here for about 3 weeks total at the time if I recall correctly.   In that game, Covey averaged 3.83 yards per reception, which is brutally bad.    And then he caught 1 pass the next week against the Saints for 11 yards.   He's not a weapon for the offense.  He has 7 catches for 34 yards.

People want to bad mouth Dotson, which I understand to an extent... but Dotson also has a higher AVERAGE yards per reception than Covey's longest of the season.  (9 receptions for 106 yards, averaging 11.8 y/c.).

Watching Covey play WR does nothing for me whatsoever.  Seeing him carry the ball, I just keep waiting for him to get snapped in two.

It sure helped Phil Rizzuto though.

I mean, we all know what's coming, but this is beyond odd.  Is a release imminent?

Also, what's the scar on his head?  He have a lobotomy or something?

Maybe he fell down a hill at a Hampton Inn?

Looks like loan sharks got him

The backup will likely get to play considering their schedule lol

There's NO way that story is true. How do you lose a finger nail and have half of your face bashed in from falling?

Comparing them is apples and oranges.  Dotson is an outside receiver whose targets are mostly downfield.  Covey is anything but an outside receiver, whose targets are not downfield.

You and I will have to agree to disagree.  It happens some times.

Oh they are apples and oranges alright.  One belongs as a WR in the NFL, even if disappointing, and for the other it is disappointing to see him lining up at WR in the NFL.

I'd love to see it.  He's a great Patriot, a great American.

Going to have to find a way to win without DeVonta.

If only DeVonta had played in the preseason games. That would have toughened him up and allowed him to stay healthy throughout the year.

Still have no doubt that Devonta plays on Sunday night.

Hang in there, man. @Joe Ball

Is huff on IR?

Going to be real tough especially with Devonta out.  Makes the Ravens game even bigger.

He’s running better now with a bad ankle than he did in September when healthy😄

Never completely understand the court systems.  It's like you get 5 years for rape, 20 years for murder, and 50 years for defrauding COVID-19

It’s the number of offenses not the years attached to each offense.
