I think I vaguely know what you're referring to. I think that was a loophole that kept the clock running, but didn't allow a 10 second runoff. I don't remember exactly, but I recall Mike Vrabel doing it to Belichick in that 2019 playoff game.

Bill did it on a punt for a delay of game and other team declined and then he had a false start and declined that. Bill was just trolling the Jets

Yeah, and if I'm remembering the rule correctly, the defense would have the option of taking the yards rather than the 10 seconds. So it wouldn't be of benefit to try to do it on purpose with regard to the 10 seconds. It really would only come into play if the offense was in a pinch for time and the defense WANTED the clock to run 10 seconds off. 

The one with the Patriots just ran more time off the clock by keeping the clock running.

The whole sequence looked weird…like i said i only saw it once, but it looked like Chi touched it first.  Maybe one of the Minn guys bumped it then before.
