Much as I don't like DOGE this is horrible.

"They are not afraid of Law Enforcement because they know nothing ever happens to them" -Trump, on the attackers.

The irony of that statement boggles my mind.

This administration is too corrupt and has lied about too many things for me to take this reporting at its word. The photo op with the "American" badged vehicle in the background is too on the nose.

"I don't buy it."

@The Norseman Serious question: do you believe that government contracts were never terminated before DOGE due to "waste"?

Sure they were, but probably not at this scale. Most importantly, it was never so publicly tracked, and never organized and cataloged centrally across the various different agencies. Nor was there the level of transparency of these contracts so that we could see the egregious things that our money is being spent on.

They're all so gullible. A used car salesman's wet dream. lol

DOGE Saved $1.4 Billion — Less Than 5% of What They Claim...

DOGE "drastically exaggerated" its government spending cuts and saved just a fraction of what they are boasting, a new deep-dive analysis from Politico found.

Can't wait to see those savings in my taxes next year!

Imagine how stupid you have to be to actually believe they saved anywhere close to $200B. People like norse will live out their later years penniless after falling for scam after scam because they're too stupid to figure out when they're an easy mark.

So ignorant…

https://www.usaspending.gov/

The Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act of 2006 (FFATA) was signed into law on September 26, 2006. The legislation required that federal contract, grant, loan, and other financial assistance awards of more than $25,000 be displayed on a publicly accessible and searchable website to give the American public access to information on how their tax dollars are being spent. In 2008, FFATA was amended by the Government Funding Transparency Act, which required prime recipients to report details on their first-tier sub-recipients for awards made as of October 1, 2010.

The transparency efforts of FFATA were expanded with the enactment of the Digital Accountability and Transparency Act (DATA Act) Pub. L. 113-101 on May 9, 2014.

Apples and oranges. This show's how the government is spending your money. Doge site shows how they are making cuts to save it.

Weird how DOGE has been saving all this money, and yet we are still going to run another $1.9 trillion deficit this year....

Did you get your check yet? I framed mine.

@MidMoFo We were talking about this under the context of contracts being cut, not general information about spending. Go back and read the conversation.

look, i have problem with what doge is supposed to be doing, but their numbers seem to be bloated and they have yet to dig into congress which we all know is full of waste, fraud and BS spending.

DOGE could also be terminating contracts and claiming savings that aren't there. Which is more often than not what is happening.

Having an "active" contract does not mean that spending was happening. DOGE would need to verify that contracts being terminated were actually tied to spending, or else they're just doing cleanup on the contracts tracking data.
