It's a very simplistic mentality but most Americans are simple people. Have you watched Foxnews or OAN lately? It’s not just simple mindedness. It’s intentional brainwashing, it’s why people like SB52 post terms like "massive kickback” and "line items” without any real knowledge of what they mean.

February 20Feb 20 I thought government spending contributed to inflation. I guess he didn’t run this by the king

If they were to reduce everyone’s taxes by $5000, it would be a rebate. Sending a $5000 check to everyone, including people who didn’t even pay $5000 in taxes to begin with… makes it a bribe.

Very interesting.

Hey dipsheet… if you don’t make enough money to be above the poverty line and pay no income taxes to the federal government and then they send you a check for $5000 in the name of "Doge savings” what do you think is their goal?

February 20Feb 20 Doge canceled a Thompson Reuters PO for the SEC. Because they thought it was for the Reuters news service, not knowing that there is a company by the name of Thompson Reuters that makes research products for lawyers.

It's all performance theater, and it's working to make the base happy. They just throw crazy lies out there and Trump's people eat it up -- it's a great political asset. It sucks since an actual diligent effort to review federal spending is definitely needed, and instead we have this clown show. But no chance Trump or the GOP Congress shuts it down.
