It's because his first term was smooth sailing (thanks Obama) that once the world hit hard times with COVID they convinced themselves "things were better under Trump so we have to vote for him". It's a very simplistic mentality but most Americans are simple people.

Have you watched Foxnews or OAN lately? It’s not just simple mindedness. It’s intentional brainwashing, it’s why people like SB52 post terms like "massive kickback” and "line items” without any real knowledge of what they mean.

Man, you really are looking very dumb.

I thought government spending contributed to inflation. I guess he didn’t run this by the king

Hey @SB52

This here is what’s called a bribe.

If they were to reduce everyone’s taxes by $5000, it would be a rebate.

Sending a $5000 check to everyone, including people who didn’t even pay $5000 in taxes to begin with… makes it a bribe.

So the federal government sending people money is a bribe in your book, huh? Very interesting.

Hey dipsheet… if you don’t make enough money to be above the poverty line and pay no income taxes to the federal government and then they send you a check for $5000 in the name of "Doge savings” what do you think is their goal?

So glad DOGE has brought back government efficiency.

Doge canceled a Thompson Reuters PO for the SEC. Because they thought it was for the Reuters news service, not knowing that there is a company by the name of Thompson Reuters that makes research products for lawyers.

Over/under on the number of days before the plug is pulled on DOGE?

Why in the world would Trump shut it down? It's all performance theater, and it's working to make the base happy. They just throw crazy lies out there and Trump's people eat it up -- it's a great political asset.

It sucks since an actual diligent effort to review federal spending is definitely needed, and instead we have this clown show. But no chance Trump or the GOP Congress shuts it down.

I guess it really depends on how badly they (DOGE) screw things up in the process.

I don't think anyone with the power to stop it actually cares. Trump? He loves it. GOP in Congress? They are scared of the Orange Imbecile.

You're too stupid to understand the implications of what you're saying right now.

Do you need a hint or is someone smarter than you going to have to clue you in?

I’d say for several departments, the goal is to screw them up and then call it government inefficiency. Postal service, Department of Education, USAID, DOJ…

From the article linked above by @Talkingbirds

Took me about 15 seconds to realize how DOGE got this one wrong.  So much of this stuff is going to be debunked.

Our tax code already takes care of that kind of bribery.

I think it depends on how long their bromance lasts. It’s hard to put a number because I don’t think congress will put a stop to it; probably close to midterms unfortunately.

That would be the rebate (or child tax credit) from the previous post, different from mailing out checks because of "doge savings”
