There was the missed roughing on the fumble as well, but that would not have changed the outcome, they were dominated.

Hurts got thrown to the ground late like a rag doll by Jones too.   It was actually a very fairly called game.

I just meant not a traditional DE, he's an OLB/Edge rusher. I was simply saying they should draft a defensive end.

Defensive end and defensive tackle will likely be their two first draft picks. As much as I want Milton back, I don’t think they’ll be able to afford him.

Howie szn began quite a while ago.  Yesterday was a day off for him to celebrate.  He is at work as we speak.

I’m guessing that he starts tomorrow… He has earned a hangover day

agreend, I wasn't trying to say it wasn't, just saying that's the only legit call that was missed for the Chiefs.

I know a lot of Bills fans. Genuinely hope they can experience this one day.

But man is it fun to be in the 2xRings club. NOT A FLUKE

Experiencing the first one in 2017 was something very special and magical. A collection of offseason moves, hired mercenaries, Wentz gets hurt and we think the season might be done, backup QB lights it up. They played great and earned it, but it was lighting in a bottle. They weren't going to win again with that roster, some guys were older and all that.

This time, I felt very confident leading up to the playoffs and throughout. Hired 2 experienced coordinators, young core players drafted, Baun and Becton stories, #1 defense, adding Barkley and dominating. The team was focused and humble, about the team and winning.

And they dominated. No one can say it was a fluke or lightning in a bottle this time. And this team's core is young, Fangio isn't going anywhere, they will have some changes to roster that include new additions to keep building. They are set up to repeat much better than in the past.

I think you are referring to the call after the Williams sack/fumble.

The penalty was on Williams for dunking the football on the goal post.

I don't think it will be as difficult as some think.

People worried when the opponents were released because it had the Vikings, Packers and Lions on it. I said for weeks and weeks that the Vikings and Packers were both frauds, they hadn't beat any good teams this year at all. We beat the Packers twice this year. People also saw the Rams and thought, oh no a good team. We dominated them twice this year. Commanders had a good season, we beat them twice including a dominant NFCCG. We would have won all 3 if Hurts didn't get knocked out of the game by a cheap shot.

So next year's 17 games:

Giants, Cowboys, Bears, Rams, Broncos, Raiders, Packers, Vikings, Bucs, Chargers: 12 wins right there.

The other 5 games are the Commanders, Lions at home, Chiefs and Bills on the road. I'm confident they'll beat the Commanders twice, but let's say they split. Chiefs will want their revenge, the game will likely be a different feel but Eagles have proven to beat them the last 2 times they played them. Bills and Lions will be tough. But that's a 13 or 14 win season, and if they continue the way they have, these other teams should be scared of playing them.

They will win the division and the #1 seed and appear in the playoffs next year, likely repeat.

Totally agree. Chiefs will be an easier game than peeps think. May lose Bolton, Reid and Tre Smith to free agency. And Kelce retire. And Chris Jones another year older. I think he goes like Fletcher and becomes only a solid player starting next season. Big guy and looked like he was worn out at the end of the year. A lot of games in last few years with playoff games. Thuney also another year older and they have a giant question mark at offensive line this offseason. With very little cap space and loss of vets, Chiefs need a major influx of young talent very quickly to keep up with the Eagles and other teams.

I just wanna say thank you to @VaBeach_Eagle for setting up this board and allowing us all to be able to talk with each other. We might not always agree and get into arguments, but we are always wanting the it’s to win and a place where we can discuss anything. this Super Bowl was awesome and it was amazing to experience ups and downs with everybody on this board for the last six months. Hopefully we can continue doing it for the foreseeable future and have more Super Bowls during that time. Board and blog made this run  more fun and without VA we wouldn’t have that.

Agree.  The schedule looks tough but we have the best team in the league and should be the same next year barring major injuries.

13 or more wins is definitely on the table, and usually enough to get the #1 seed.

That kid is fast becoming a favorite of mine.   He doesn't look like he should be as stout against the run as he is.  And he's got an amazing bend, and violence to his pass rush.   His rookie year was nothing special, but wow...   he's come on like crazy and showed why the Eagles were looking at him for their first pick 2 years ago if Carter hadn't fallen into their laps.

Howie's top 3 picks since 2021 have been game changers:

2021: Devonta Smith, Landon Dickerson, Milton Williams
2022: Jordan Davis, (AJ Brown), Cam Jurgens, Nakobe Dean
2023: Jalen Carter, Nolan Smith, and even Tyler Steen
2024: Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper Dejean, Jalyx (Big Pimpin') Hunt

Just look at the pieces.  I've been critical of Howie... but no more.  I yield.

i-was-wrong-you-were-right.gif

If Howie can continue this trend...   It's going to be tougher this year picking at the end of the top 2 rounds, but so be it.  It's a nice problem to have!

Homegrown talent on defense, it's been a long time waiting for that.

Nolan Smith was the 30th pick too. That's one of the benefits of being a SB winning team with an already loaded roster. You don't reach in the draft. You take the BPA on your board that falls because of teams making a run on other positions. It's how they got Q this year, and DeJean.

Howie can afford to trade up for a guy he wants, like he did with DeJean. And add another great piece. Obviously some guys will leave in free agency, and decisions to be made there and find replacements. But they're well positioned.

It was OPI, you saw the DB’s head move.  Those two calls sent a message.  No hands to the face.

Exactly. In both instances.  They can call a game too soft or not but they need to be consistent. And they were.

It's a nice feeling to join the 2x Superbowl champs list.

I know people close to me who are Atlanta and Buffalo fans and you can see their pain when they know they haven't won a Superbowl.

Interestingly, half the league has won two.  Four have won only one.  Twelve stuck at zero.

22 year old rookie, playing in the biggest game of your career, getting a pick-6 to put your team up 3 scores and on your way to a ring. What a rush that must've been.

Schedule is going to be ridiculously hard.

I don’t think they will need to be the #1 seed to have a legit shot play repeating.  It will come down to team health at the right time of the year.

Saquon Barkley might have had the most fun in the locker room post-game. He's so buttoned up normally and he let it all out
