No it's not silly at all to compare where both their careers stood after their first 5 seasons when the level of success has been very comparable.  People like you hate it but the reality is if/when Hurts wins on Sunday there won't be another active QB in the NFL who is closer to the level of success of Mahomes.  2 Super Bowl appearances and a Super Bowl win by the end of their 5th seasons in the NFL.  Doesn't even touch on the various different statistical breakdowns that ESP went over.

Mahomes

50-13 W/L

1550/2345 66.1% comp

18,991yds passing 151 TDs

1189 yds rushing 8TDs

Hurts

46-20 W/L

1248/1939 64.4% comp

14,667yds passing 85 TDs

3133yds rushing 55TDs

See what I mean by total stats not showing the whole picture? No? Good talk

Warning- All of the attention paid to the refs may work against the eagles.

While some think it may make the refs ease up a bit, the other angle is that this is going to become locker room material for the Chiefs. "They think we cant beat anyone without help from the refs. Lets crush these guys and show them what we can do" may be the sentiment in the Chief's locker room now.

The Superbowl is not enough. The three peat is not enough. Now they have extra motivation.  Nah.

The trade off is well worth it.  The NFL KNOWS that everyone thinks the Chiefs get the calls BECAUSE they do.  Now, hopefully they dial that back. Even a little helps us versus Kelce somehow feeling MORE motivated?

I wouldnt say so. But, its an external motivator that can boost focus and performance. I can do without that. Focusing on the refs before the game is played is loser energy. Im confident we will win because despite the refs help that KC will inevitably receive, I think our margin of talent is too large to overcome if we play our game. No one should be concerned about the refs. Just controlling what can be controlled. The eagles can control their own performance. As a fan, thats all I am thinking about- hoping the eagles come out and dominate like they can.

And here is the beauty of it.  The Eagles didn't say ish about it.  It's the fans and the media.  It's even casual fans.  The Eagles haven't said one thing about it.

Your logic is reasonable as far as it goes, but Mahomes’ career isn’t only five years.  You are cherry picking your data.  Does anyone ever look at Terry Bradshaw’s first 5 years, or Roger Staubach’s first 5, or any other QB’s first 5?

C'mon Eagles, fly this kid and his family down to New Orleans (if he can travel). If he can't travel, you gotta hook him up with something great (maybe watch the game with a former player).

Brady, R. Wilson, Big Ben???

Seriously, there's a number of QB's that won within their first 5 seasons and their accomplishments within that window are mainly what will get them into the HOF.

I just chose a few to make the point.  There also may be some who had outstanding first 5 years, but then fell off a cliff and never will be in the HOF.  RTK is the king of cherry picking.

Oh look, one of the biggest Jalen Hurts haters on the board has popped in to give his 2 cents.

Weren't you on here saying that Hurts was done for the year with a knee injury prior to the NFCCG??

When you do, you need to put into the perspective of the rest of the league at the same time to accurately gauge their relative ranking to the time period.

Dickerson playing. Jurgens also said he is playing.

Is it me or does everyone act like the eagles didn’t just beat the chiefs last season?

BG is a much bigger concern for me, the guy is coming off surgery and is rushing back. But I don't think he'll play significant snaps or anything. Hunt has played pretty well and continues to get better, I hope he wouldn't cut into Hunt's snaps, but depends on how BG looks. No indication Dickerson or Jurgens injuries are anything serious. Nothing that will require surgery. Likely just strains. Who knows if they'll be 100%, but few are this time of year.

I am hoping BG's legs being fresh will make up for the lack of arm strength.  I think he will be limited but still will be effective.

Oh, I HATE this.
