Quinyon + 1 for Garrett
2 1sts and more for Garrett
DeJean + 1st for Garrett

IMO, Quinyon is more valuable than Garrett straight up.

Those would all be terrible trades given the cost of a new contract.  This team does not need Garrett to get to and win a Super Bowl.  They need Quinyon and Cooper much more and the future picks.  Brian Burns was traded for a 2nd.  I am not sure why they would even consider paying more than that price.

I can’t agree with that. Even taking age into consideration. QM has the potential to be great but Garrett is a first ballot HOFer. Our D-Line would go down as possibly the greatest ever.

A lot of playoff teams with more cap and better picks... WAS😬.

Out of curiosity, I looked up the Eagles-Chiefs history to see when the last time was that we beat them. I've been thinking that we'd never beaten Andy Reid, at all. I see the 2023 game though and that we won that one. I literally have no memory of that game. Was it a night game (MNF, SNF or TNF)? If so, that's why I don't remember it.

I think it was MNF. This is how it ended

We can extend Baun, trade for Garrett for a 1st and recoup some draft capital with comp picks from Williams/Becton/Sweat.

That's a massive drop off in draft capital.  And, I'll say the thing that no one really wants to say... Garrett is likely due for only about 1 or 2 more seasons at his current level.   I don't see him being this massive game changer at 31.   He'll still make some splash plays from time to time, but they will come far fewer and less frequent.  The pass rusher that maintains his level past the magic line of 30 is a rare thing.  I don't like the idea of trading so much for a guy that's essentially a short term rental.  AND, the impact of the lost draft picks will likely hit right around the same time that his production starts to drop off.    No thank you.   It's a nice thought, but its rather impractical for this team.     His new team will likely get a giant boost in his first year, a nice boost in year 2... but then it will start to tail off.  I expect a very similar pattern as what happened with Demarcus Ware.  Amazing up to the age of 30, then only one year with double digit sacks (only 10) after that... AND a bunch of missed games.   That just seems to be the general pattern for EDGEs.

I would by fine sending this year 1st and 2nd plus next year 1st and 2nd for Garrett plus next year 3rd and the offer remains active until it is our turn on the draft...I wouldn't go any higher than that. After draft the offer would be only next year 1st plus 2nd...Also our will to go after Garrett and sacrifice picks is probably highly depends on the SB outcome

Thats the kind of trade the Browns would make for Garrett...😒

Lurie was talking about comp picks the other day. We are going to lose some good FAs.

Watched this press conference from the Eagles official channel, the only thing I could find on Lurie doing media. No mention of comp picks here so it must be from something else. Couldn't find searching Twitter or Google.

Things he did say in this:

  • On the refs: the refs do the best job they can. The best way to handle that is not be in a close game, dominate like we did against Washington:flex:
  • Lurie killed the rumor, he has no interest in buying the Celtics.
  • On Running backs being replaceable: replaceability vs impact. They've always invested in RB (Watters, 2nd contracts for Westbrook & McCoy, signed Swift).
  • We "always" thought to pair a RB with a triple threat QB. There you go, Lurie wants a QB who can run.

And for us it isn't as much as it looks like...they say "hey, we got two 1sts and two 2nds giving Up only third plus Garrett who wants out...and we say "hey, we got probably the best player in the League still in his prime on our strongest position od need plus probably early 3rd pick next year and gave up basically one first, two 2nds and one third...and if we make deep PO run it will be close to two 2nds  and two 3rds(early ones)...Also we must not forget that at least next 2 years we ste in WIN now mode, so it make sense from this pointa of view as well as we currently dont have other major position od need.

Cool they probably put one up for the chiefs too.

Quinyon is already one of the beat corners in the league and he's just going to get better.  He can be here for a near decade.  Trading him for a near 30 year old Garrett is braindead.

It’s okay, James Bradberry is easy to forget about.

Slow your roll.   This post reeks of recency bias and a young fan.   I'm not even sure it would be the best in franchise history, let alone league history.
