I can’t agree with that. Even taking age into consideration. QM has the potential to be great but Garrett is a first ballot HOFer. Our D-Line would go down as possibly the greatest ever.

I mean that's a tall order.  The Reggie White, Jerome Brown defense had them in their prime.  Clyde Simmons was a force.  It would probably be the best in the League. I don't think it would be one of the greatest ever especially if they have to give up any young players to get him.

Turned down the chance to get last minute SB tix lower level 40 yard line today at a really good price.  Call me crazy, but I already had plans.

Hope your hair turns out nice.

Dan Patrick talking to Rich Eisen (covered a lot of topics, link starts at this discussion). The topic turned to Barkley's impact to the Eagles and how it improved Hurts' efficiency. Dan was talking to Harbaugh about how they reduced Justin Herbert's pass attempts which led to greater QBR, and same with Josh Allen, less passes/higher QBR, you're starting to see that now. With Barkley and Henry being free agents and then being the top 2 RBs that make a difference, there could be a trend toward more running.

The Commanders also have a number of needs.

True… not giving up 55pts is up there.

Here’s hoping Eric Allen finally gets elected into the HOF tonight. It’s long overdue.🦅

Anyone watching Jordan chasing Saquon into the end zone last game has to question that he is the slowest of those players but that’s because of how athletic the Eagles starting OL are.

I initially read this as the Oline going to a pub for a drink and so everything else confused me

Hah!

They have a ton of needs on D, so they may want to keep their draft capital.  But...a guy like Garrett would be a force multiplier, making the other ten look better.

It would also impact Howie's approach to replacing Lane.

People criticize Hurts for being too stoic when he's focused, ignore/forget that he is very hype and vocal in pre-game, huddles, after scoring and after winning.

Daniels was hyped by the media, they're not going to be critical when he had such a good rookie season.

For whatever reason, Hurts gets more criticism in the media than a lot of other quarterbacks. Lamar, Allen, Purdy, Kyler Murray, etc. Maybe it’s because he’s playing with an all-star team, but you still need to win games. I think he’s in a similar boat with Purdy, but with better leadership and running ability. I don’t think Hurts had a great season, but he played his role well and more times than not played smart football outside of some of the horrible sacks. He elevated his game when it mattered most against Washington in the NFCCG, had arguably the best game of his career against KC in the Super Bowl two years ago, and I have confidence in him rising to the occasion again on Sunday.

He’s been waiting two years to get back on this stage against this team and I hope he seizes it.

The Eagles are going to need to do something at DE/EDGE. Nolan Smith and Jalyx Hunt are the only guys that are locks to return.

Graham just said this is his last game. He's gone.

Sweat is already thinking about his payday. He's gone.

Huff, I think that relationship is over. Fangio doesn't like him. He can't like getting completely benched all post season. I don't see how he comes back.

It's ESP so take it FWIW, but he said on WIP he interviewed Bryce Huff down there and he dodged questions about his playing time, but he said he looked miserable and pissed. It's not cost effective to cut him, but there's no way he's back next season. I think Howie will try to trade him for a song.

They will invest heavily in edge in the draft if they don't trade for someone.

Ive been wanting the first 3 draft picks to all be DL. 2 of them being DEs.

I’m more so sticking up for the greatness of Garrett. I don’t remember those defenses from the early 90s but Garrett and Carter on the field together would be phenomenal.

I don’t know how we’d afford Garrett unless you plan on moving on from Hurts in a year. Baun will get paid this offseason and then next offseason you’ll be looking at extending Carter and Smith.

That’s a lot of coin on defense.

I'd think they would have to sign at least one established vet. I can't see Howie going into a draft with that big of a glaring need.

He's a $7.5 cap hit.  He's a $29.65 dead cap hit if they move on from him.  He is a lock to be on the team next season.

Garrett is a great player.  He's not what Reggie White was in his prime.  Carter and Brown are close to the same player.  Carter probably has more burst but Brown was a force.

They will. And I still want the draft to go that way.

Graham, Sweat, and Huff. 2 gone, 1 not to be counted on or possibly gone as well.

3 out. need 3 in.

And Clyde too.  With Seth at LB.  '91 D was elite.

Edit:  And of course, Eric Allen. Keeping good thoughts for him to get in this week!

I feel better knowing we got that unbiased take.

I can watch the game in peace now.

Oh look I’m an old man gloating about the 91 defense… what’d they win? Oh yeah, jack squat. Who cares. F them.

Not to be an iconoclast, but I think Carter is much better than Brown ever was and Brown was terrific.
