There was no point in his career that Eli was considered a top 5 QB. He shouldn't be a hall of famer, but New York bias, the 2 wins over Brady and his last name will get him in eventually. The fact that he will be a hall of famer, and someone like McNabb isn't even a semi-finalist (no, Donovan shouldn't be in either, but should get more consideration than Eli), is ridiculous.

Brees and Fitz walk in next year.

Eli was a good quarterback with two fortunate Januarys (supported by a great defense).

Rivers has a bunch of stats but no ring. Playing in the same conference as Brady and Peyton will do that though

The weird thing about this…I think he’s 2-0 or 2-1 against Peyton in the playoffs IIRC.  Which diving deeper down the rabbit hole, Peyton is one of the greatest to do it obviously, but he objectively if you remove the name and just look at his resume on paper you’d be asking WTF happened every time you got to the playoffs.  Peyton has a winning playoff record against Brady too…so it wasn’t ’oh he ran into Brady a lot’.  They only met 3 times IIRC.

I’m not trying to say Peyton isn’t a top 10 QB of all time…I just think that we were spoiled with how good the QB’s were in that era…truly.  Throw Big Ben into the mix and young A-Aron, Stafford, Flacco (before injury), Ryan.

Imo Peyton manning was Clayton kershaw before Clayton kershaw. Both eventually broke through and won titles but really had sizable drop offs from regular season to postseason for a portion performance of the start of their careers. (I get two different sports but both were phenomenal regular season players at their positions who had same type of playoff issues for portions of their career)

The absolute stomping he took against the Seachickens in arguably his best year of his career was saddening.

On the other side, i think most people would currently have any combo of Brady, Montana and Peyton as their top 3 QB’s of all time.  Odd thing is those 3 are probably some of the least gifted QB’s to play the game from an athletic standpoint.  They all had billion dollar brains to make up for their cinder blocks on their feet and slightly above average arms.  (Montana might be a bit more nimble than I’m giving him credit for).

We hate witten cause he’s a cowboy but he’s going to eventually get in. Was first team all pro 2x and second team all pro 2x (11 time pro bowler). He’s 2nd in receptions and yards all time for a tight end and 6th in tight end TDs all time.

He's got nothing on LJ Smith

NHL Trade Deadline today...  Any Flyers fans with inside scoops or predications?

I'm an idiot it's March 7th not Feb 7th.

Not this year. They're Eagles fans.

Nah. Eagles ML is the most popular bet. There's more money on the Eagles in every single state besides Kansas. Vegas wants Chiefs to win.

What I find amazing is that the Packers had two Hall of Fame quarterbacks for nearly 30 years. Two of the more gifted throwers of the football that we have seen in the last 40 years. And yet they only managed to win 2 Super Bowls. And one of them they were the 6 seed and it wasn’t expected of them with Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers got a Super Bowl but he’s had some playoff stinkers. Rodgers is a first ballot hall of famer but he had some cousins-esque hallow stats in some of the playoff games against sf and nfc title game vs. Atlanta

I hated that LJ smith draft pick. I really wanted witten in that draft. Wish we had the old board and could go back to that draft night. I feel like most of us were not thrilled with the smith pick

brees and fitz are locks as first ballot hall of famers. Witten i think gets in but might not be first ballot. Tend to think gore and rivers will eventually get in

from this past class nominees i think Eli, Suggs and kuechly get in. Holt, Steve smith, Wayne, vinatari are probably waiting longer than those 3.

Fox screwed this graphic up in an embarrassing way. Rivers first name is spelled Philip, not Phillip. This sort of thing matters to people named Philip.

Yeah the only real knock was a lack of a ring, but I really hate that being held against players for the HoF.

It's a stupid criteria, frankly.  Equally, elevating an above average player because of multiple rings is also stupid.  They won't officially say that a player gets in or doesn't get in due to the rings, but they absolutely count it into the calculation.

Gotta pull for Frank Gore. One of the greatest almost Eagles of all time. I hope Lurie one day puts him in our Ring of Almost Got Here.

He'll have a bust right next to LeCharles Bentley.

Yeah, that was also the Jerome Mcdougal draft. Sheesh.

Team building? Though Rodgers did play with some great players

Poor grammar on my part!

I don't even think it was bad grammar.   It's just one of the quirks about the English language, identifying the antecedent is difficult in some sentence structures, so context clues have to be used and assumptions have to be made.  I chose to assume the ridiculous for the sake of levity.

I'm not going to look and just assume they all have ties to the Giants.

It was Nate Davis, Aaron Schatz and Dan Pompei.  I don't think any of them are connected to the Giants.  All of them are, however, haters.  It was interesting to me that Barkley got mostly 3rd place votes and only one 2nd place one.
