Burrow had ridiculous numbers. Led the league in passing yards and passing tds (3rd in Qb rating and qbr). Don’t think he was as worthy as the 3 guys who finished ahead of him. But I do think if he got them to the playoffs, the voting also would’ve looked different.

If he got to the playoffs, maybe. It would still be pretty weak to consider a guy whose team is slightly above .500 the most valuable player in the league.

I could use some help with the Super Bowl offerings for game day.

My wife is starting out with some Type 2 Diabetes and I'm looking to create a menu that she can enjoy while still being festive.   She loves bread, but that's generally on the no-no list now.

So, I'm thinking one thing that might really be nice for her to have as an option would be a charcuterie tray.   But, I'm not well versed in what those options should be.  I was thinking about some 3 cheeses (1 soft - brie or camembert, 1 hard and funky - gruyere or extra sharp cheddar, and maybe a soft spreadable?), 3 meats (various salamis), and that's where I get stuck... what other things would be good options to add?

Condiments. Dill relish, spicy mustard, cornichons, a good humus, pita, olives, lox, capers, hard boiled eggs, red onion, a moderately priced caviar. Boursin cheese would work.

Don’t disagree. but he’s a Qb and i think voters would’ve given him some votes from Barkley in 3rd and potentially some from votes from Allen and Lamar. They’d have used he had a historically bad defense and were 4-7 and got them in.

Off topic The nfl should really have best OL award. Feels like they get no respect. DL have won DPOY. Never gonna get a OL winning mvp or OPOY. Should have an award.

God i loved that 2008 and trio. It’s a shame they didn’t win 2011. I’d argue the best Phillies team I’ve seen in my lifetime as i wasn’t born yet to see the early 80s teams

I'm a big fan of good hummus

You can get superb humus as take out from Zahav. Suraya on Frankfort Ave sells Lebanese humus at the counter in the front. If you happen to live near Cape May, George’s restaurant on Beach Ave has great Greek humus in a number of flavors.

Hurts won MVP from some random obviously illegitimate organization.

You really hate him huh?

um...no. But its pretty odd that anyone would give him the MVP in his season. Hes not a serious candidate.

Which itself is wild.  Archie if not for his sons is not even a blip in the NFL history books.  In fact he’s on the bad side of most history books.

We loved it when the Oilers got Archie. That 0-8 result must have been some of the best QB play in NFL history. Replaced by Oliver Luck, who raised his record to 3-6 in the four years he played before pulling an Andrew Luck.  Obviously, Luck was the better of the two.

Here is Gardner-Johnson in a new video, behind the scenes.

Neither Jackson nor Allen win OPOY or DPOY yet outpoll both winners for MVP.  Borders on stupidity as does the fact Jackson was viewed a more All Pro QB, in other words won the best QB award from the same voters.  If Allen isn’t the best QB, isn’t the OPOY and didn’t play any D so obviously not DPOY, that makes the MVP seem like lipstick on a pig concession award.

One of the voters didn't even have Saquon in his top 5, he had QB's right across the board, he should just have his vote taken away for that level of dumbassery.

Now here is one for you lazy types.

There are three ingredients.  First, some nacho chips and they can be whatever you want.  Even the standard simple tostitos will do.  Second, a loaf (or two depending on the size of the party) of that sheety Velveeta stuff. Use the hot spicy version if you can find that.  Third, canned stewed tomatoes.  Probably a couple of cans.

Yes, Velveeta sucks and is terrible for you but this is great and the easiest thing you could ever make.  Just put on low heat till it all melts and then stir in the stewed tomatoes.  Doesn't sound very appetizing but trust me, voila!

Fitz is a first vote HOFer to me. Witten should.  Gore gets the longevity award, but HOF is questionable to me.  Brees probably gets in but not a first round selection for me.  BB will probably be ineligible after his buyout in NC midseason to replace Kellen Moore in NOLA.

Brees is second all time in passing yards and passing touchdowns

Lots of options here depending on what you and your guests usually like. For meats, you can't go wrong with thinly sliced and folded prosciutto, soppressata, and capicola which are pretty common, but you can also go with mortadella or porchetta (my favorite) which aren't as pricey. I'm not much of a cheese guy, but scamorza or provolone are what I make sure I always include. Then at least a couple types of olives for acidity (e.g. castelvetrano and kalamata), a few different types of nuts (almonds, pistachios, or whatever you like), and some fruit for sweetness (grapes or berries).

That one is actually Bobby Taylor, not Eric Allen.

I know, I was posting to show why initially, the HOF announcement looked like BT.

Not sure how effective he'll be but it's wild that BG is even able to dress for the game. Would be quite the story if he's able to make another critical late-game play.

There is one in my family as well. Wings, guac, baked Parmesan wings, cowboy caviar, parmesan broccoli stem fries, cheese stuffed mini peppers, bacon guac bombs, cool ranch zucchini chips, cauliflower nuggets, BLT egglets (hard boiled egg BLT basically), and bunless burger bites (mini burger with cheese, lettuce, slice of pickle on a skewer with a cherry tomato on the end).

I saw this keto taquitos recipe today as well

The Hall of Fame needs to be exclusive. Too many players that belong in the Hall of Very Good get nominated.

Good advice. We have one store bought option over here that is rock solid but all the others suck.

btw - I meant bell peppers not paprika, haha. Paprika is the Swedish word for bell pepper. Doesn’t happen often but on occasion a Swedish word will sneak in there when I’m multi tasking.

Paprika is a pepper.  I grow three plants each year in my bucket garden (5 gallon buckets make great growing containers for peppers.  It’s a mild chili pepper like a bell.  I know some folks use bell peppers to make mild paprika. You can also use hotter ones for heat.  That’s the type of paprika I grow,  I do grow bell peppers.  End crop I make into sweet pepper flakes, a necessity for good NO red beans. I wonder if Sweden uses bell peppers for paprika.

He and Chase were the primary reason they had a winning season.

Add a grated onion, green chiles and a chopped jalapeno and you have a dip.

Yup.  The MVP award is really just about QBs now.  When looking at the list of who people voted for, it was exclusively QBs, outside of Barkley.  Disgusting.   Really should  rename it to MVQB.

I would say a non-playoff team is a non-starter.  "Valuable" should take for granted the opportunity to compete for a championship.  There is limited "value" in not qualifying for the playoffs.
