The question was whether he’d look like he belonged vs a higher level of competition - and like Q last year, he showed out, wrecked that Oregon kid (who’s no slouch) with a bull rush in 1v1. The guy has a bag tricks and is also above 250lbs. Yeah, I’d be surprised if we didn’t have to make a significant trade up.

Eagles have to account for everyone when playing the Chiefs.  They could focus on Kelce or Worthy but then end up getting burned by Nikko Remigio.  Chiefs will spread it all around.

True.  Their second TE in two TE sets is almost always a receiving threat.

I watched the practices on the NFL network, but they have the DL vs OL 1v1s edited/compressed together on YouTube.

Everybody's favorite ex-eagle Press Taylor is joining the Bears staff.  Big pickup for them.

Eagles don't have a guy on the edge right now who can win the way BG wins. If he plays 10-15 good reps, he's a value add (assuming he's healthy enough).

With that injury, he really wouldn't be able to win the way he used to win either.

That's what I use too. Haven't seen any of the listed books put out a number that high. I don't check it daily, but even the line movement tracking page only shows +114 as the longest ML for us.

I believe I used incorrect nomenclature, which may have contributed to some of the confusion. What I meant, I think, was that the Chiefs are -130 rather than that the Eagles are +130. And that the predicted odds of that matchup prior to the championship games was that KC would be -115.

There is a sizable preseason bet (14:1) on the Eagles winning the Super Bowl that I'm trying to hedge. So I want to bet about a third of the potential payout on the Chiefs, thereby ensuring a decent enough return if the Eagles lose. I did the same thing two years ago to protect an even bigger potential payout. So the closer the odds get to even money, the better it would be for me.

DJ spoke about how good Mike Green looked today in day 2 of senior bowl practices. I really like him as a potential first rounder. May need to move up a bit for him.

I suspect Howie will be moving down rather than up.  But only time will tell.

Random question: what is the best post-Eagles career any former Eagle has had in the Howie era?  Mccoy and Jackson do not count, as they were jettisoned by Chip.

Nominees:

Javon Hargrave: Already a bad contract, but did go to a pro-bowl & SB in 2023.

Isaac Seumalo.  Pro-bowl 2024.

Jordan Poyer.  Pro-bowler, all-pro.

Notably, Poyer was cut.  Hargrave and Seumalo were established starters who left because we couldn't/wouldn't pay them.

Pretty unimpressive list, to be honest.

I guess the elephant in the room on this list, figuratively and literally, isn't a player.  It's AR.

Part of the reason the list is short is that the Eagles find ways to keep their good players.

If Eagles beat the Chiefs, that could be it for the Chiefs in the Superbowl for a little bit. Good chance they lose their pro bowl right guard Tre Smith. Thuney is getting older. Trouble at both tackle positions. Kelce getting older and potentially retiring. On the defensive side, you have Nick Bolton and Justin Reid as key free agents. Both will have heavy bidders. Chiefs only have $11M in cap space.

Think they could take a step back. But they are so good at retooling and drafting that it's hard to totally dismiss them from coming back next year good to go. But I feel like their grasp on owning this conference could be slipping away here. Let's hope Eagles crack the code here in 11 days and end this Chiefs era for now and start a new one themselves.

I’m willing to say great.  He was probably our most productive Edge when he went down.  Smith and Hunt have both improved substantially since then.  Sweat is still Sweat.

Bo Wulf/Zach Berman had a sports medicine doc on their pod. Guy said Graham would wear a brace that’d essentially lock his arm in place and he wouldn’t get cleared unless his strength on that side is back to 90%. Based on that and with his lower body power mostly all there, I’d expect 10 good snaps if he’s cleared. Think it’s worth having the optionality in this matchup.

A role where he doesn’t have to call plays or lead a room is actually perfect for Press. That’s where he should’ve been all along, but Doug couldn’t admit he was wrong.

Smith is already very good, but Smith and Hunt should be a pretty good couple of starting DE's next year.

On the first attempt when he dove over the line, he actually made contact with Hurts' facemask or helmet. It wasn't super egregious, but in my opinion they could have easily called unsportsmanlike on him. The yardage obviously wouldn't have mattered, but a subsequent UC would have forced an ejection. What also went through my mind was that if that had been Mahomes in Hurts' position they would have absolutely called some UC/Personal Foul penalty against Luvu on the first attempt.

Edit: Here is a still capture I took off of a YT vid...right at the moment of contact. He was unabated with contact to the head or neck area...in a completely unsafe manner. Should have been called.

Pass game coordinator.

Not sure exactly what he'll do.  Maybe set up some cones at practice?  Maybe some passing nets?

Agreed.  The question for next season is what happens behind them in Edges 3 and 4?

What is the best place to watch Senior Bowl coverage?

I was listening to Senior Bowl coverage on NFL Radio today and Bill Polian said something interesting.  He said none of this year’s draft-eligible QBs would have been taken in the top 6 QB picks of last year’s draft.

He and Andrew Ceciliano said the two QBs with the best throwing arms were Taylor Elgersma from Wilfred Laurier University in Canada, and Tyler Shough — who I had my eye on 3-4 years ago while at Oregon.  Unfortunately, injuries have derailed Shough’s college career and he’s finally in this year’s draft at nearly 26 years old (similar to Hendon Hooker from Tennessee).

Elgersma hadn’t ever thrown on an NFL field before the Senior Bowl.  He’s likely to play a few years in the CFL before testing the NFL.  Shough will be an interesting late-round pick for someone; he has all the physical tools but not the durability.

How I imagine most feel. 😂

If they didn't call unsportsmanlike on Carter for sticking his fingers in to Biadasz eyes, it is good they didn't call it here either

Going to be very interesting to see how Trey Smith does vs Carter.  Do the Chiefs dare leave their Pro Bowl RG alone against Carter or do they double team 80% of the time like everyone else does?
