Going to be very interesting to see how Trey Smith does vs Carter.  Do the Chiefs dare leave their Pro Bowl RG alone against Carter or do they double team 80% of the time like everyone else does?

Hopefully they try not to double team him for the first 3 quarters, see how that works out first and go from there.  😈

Bo Wulf/Zach Berman had a sports medicine doc on their pod. Guy said Graham would wear a brace that’d essentially lock his arm in place and he wouldn’t get cleared unless his strength on that side is back to 90%. Based on that and with his lower body power mostly all there, I’d expect 10 good snaps if he’s cleared. Think it’s worth having the optionality in this matchup.

Well, I'd prefer BG at 50% over Bryce Huff at 150%.

Why thank you sir

Agreed.  The question for next season is what happens behind them in Edges 3 and 4?

Huff and TBD. So i dont think you have to force a pick but Pearce Jr would be great with a year to develop behind them

ARs OL protections always seemed to be vulnerable to a NT at the zero right over the center. Put davis there and you might be able get Carter some isolation on the left guard

The Eagles went into Arrowhead last year and got the W with a Defense that clearly wasn't up to par.  Now we have a way better Defense and Saquon this time.  Also the Eagles scored 35 on that Cheifs D in the Super Bowl.    If our Defense can keep Pat and Company in the 20's, we should be able to get up over 30 points again.

Ask josh allen how beating the chiefs in the regular season matters. Mahomes and KC are a different animal in the postseason. They coast during the regular season

Over the years with the Eagles, there wasn't much investment there.  It seemed to always be an UDFA small school OT with short arms that they converted... guys like Hank Fraley, Jamaal Jackson, etc.   KC has Creed Humphrey now.  Significantly more investment, and a significantly bigger and/or better C than AR had here over the many years.

I don't believe that for a second. They always play to win. They just haven't been winning as impressively this year.

I was listening to Senior Bowl coverage on NFL Radio today and Bill Polian said something interesting.  He said none of this year’s draft-eligible QBs would have been taken in the top 6 QB picks of last year’s draft.

He and Andrew Ceciliano said the two QBs with the best throwing arms were Taylor Elgersma from Wilfred Laurier University in Canada, and Tyler Shough — who I had my eye on 3-4 years ago while at Oregon.  Unfortunately, injuries have derailed Shough’s college career and he’s finally in this year’s draft at nearly 26 years old (similar to Hendon Hooker from Tennessee).

Elgersma hadn’t ever thrown on an NFL field before the Senior Bowl.  He’s likely to play a few years in the CFL before testing the NFL.  Shough will be an interesting late-round pick for someone; he has all the physical tools but not the durability.

I would love to see Howie sign Elgersma as a UDFA. They could carry him on the roster as the International Exception while he develops.

If they didn't call unsportsmanlike on Carter for sticking his fingers in to Biadasz eyes, it is good they didn't call it here either

Good point

Of course we want Graham to play if he's able to

For this game I agree.

I do want to see Huff go through the Offseason and Training Camp though.  A year with Hirtt’s coaching could make all the difference in the world.  Never up, never in.

Two plays, back to back, that demonstrate what I was saying about Calcaterra's improvement as a blocker. The first is a counter by Goedert, the second is Barkley's last TD of the game.

Double Wing, with both TEs lined up outside the tackles and a yard off the LOS. Calcaterra is #81. Washington has nine in the box.

Hurts hands off to Goedert going right as Saquon shows action to the left.

Calc-1B.thumb.jpg.23d6c34aed330459e2fef3e2f7b9bbbd.jpg

Calcaterra has his man blocked out. Goedert is cutting in behind Becton. He'll get to the four. BTW, that's Luvu Calcaterra is blocking. He's already driven him back two yards.

Calc-2.thumb.jpg.0a3ba62419c26727084bc9dc56c04872.jpg

The second play - Saquon's last TD. Calcaterra is lined up between the TE and the LT, a yard deep.Calc-2A.thumb.jpg.9ab1c82c8e56ca0a7d772f88baab9a97.jpg

Calcaterra comes in motion left to right. Everyone else is blocking right to left.

Calc-2B.thumb.jpg.1257d82d5fe1a23a8f8245a74145fc5c.jpg

Calcaterra squares up the DE.

Calc-2C.thumb.jpg.8ebed5374205a27fbdae942f2f462f13.jpg

And Saquon can walk in. He has his choice of inside or outside AJ. Either way, he'll score untouched.

Calc-2D.thumb.jpg.4be8fe177445d0289782bb1495d170b1.jpg

Not bad for a guy who can't block.

Well, this is likely Bryce Huff's last game on the team before we trade him this off-season. He has a very tradable contract (won't give us immediate cap relief) that other teams would want. SF would obviously take him as their #2/3 behind Bosa with Floyd.

I think Huff has looked good down the stretch as a pure pass rusher, but Fangio doesn't believe in rotations or trust him so he's gotta go.

The gap keeps shrinking.

Dont disagree but i think there is an opportunity to scheme Carter some 1v1 on the weaker left guard is all im saying. Just need Davis to keep Humphries from helping that direction. Try to have davis occupy the center and RG a gap as much as possible.

would hopefully get Sweat and Carter isolated on Mahomes blind side

That's cutting it pretty close.  What if their flight gets delayed?  Or canceled?  Could you imagine needing to forfeit because your flight got canceled?

You can tell he doesn't care about that trophy and wants the Lombardi

Cooper DeJean's swipe, not Baun's punch is what caused this fumble. Clear on this replay. Credit to Coop for this one.

You can believe what you want. I saw things Sunday on offense that they had not shown all year. This was also mentioned by the Bills on both sides of the ball. Like I have mentioned before and as much as you guys don’t want to believe it, this game comes down to how Hurts and Moore handle the pressure. Everyone knows Barkley will get his as he is nearly impossible to stop. This is the best defense you will face all year.
