Yeah that’s BS except the fact the Chiefs have won 3 titles in the last 5-6 years?

Nothing embarrassing about that.

They didn't win 3 straight though. But I was talking about how kids in third world countries would be wearing these shirts since they lost.

Look at this timestamp.

2:26 left in the 3rd quarter was the first time that the Chiefs got the ball over mid-field in the game.

And with 0:35 left in the 3rd quarter they get their first score.

I know some people were upset with the cheap points the Chiefs put up late... but that in no way takes away the absolute drubbing that this team, specifically this defense, put on the Chiefs last night.  That was a good ole' fashioned curb stomping.

When the Chiefs had to go for it on 4th down with what, 4 minutes to go in the THIRD quarter and the Eagles stopped them, you knew that was game.

What happened next just confirmed it

This was like that 10 minute drive to end the Pitt game.

Basically the Eagles saying we're beating you and you can't do a damn thing about it.

That's very rare at this level of professional sport.

The Chiefs were defeated and demoralised with 20 minutes left.

Incredible 😲

Nolan just eviscerates linemen who try to pull against him. Jenkins found that out the hard way in the GB game. Knocking their blocks off.

Sorry if posted, I'm catching up.

Eagles defensive players said the 3peat talk was motivation (there was discussion earlier that bulletin board material isn't really a factor despite players in history repeatedly admitting it is).

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/43775485/dominant-eagles-defense-fueled-chiefs-three-peat-talk

Excerpts:

Quote

Multiple Eagles defensive players said they used the Kansas City Chiefs' talk of a three-peat as incentive in Philadelphia's dominant Super Bowl LIX performance on Sunday night.

"That was motivation because it was kind of a slap to us," Eagles veteran defensive end Brandon Graham said. "It was like, they ain't seen us yet. So, we heard that all week. And when the game came, execution was on point and together."

Williams:

Quote

"Definitely," said Philadelphia defensive tackle Milton Williams, when asked if he was fueled by that chatter. "They were talking about getting the copyright and all that B.S. Throw that s--- in the trash."

Sweat:

Quote

"We didn't change the game plan or anything," said Sweat, who was among those Eagles players who said they shut out the three-peat talk and other distractions to stay focused. "We just rush and cover together, and whoever made the play made it.

I think slay and sweat are going to walk, it's just impossible to keep them.  I think the team is going to try to keep Williams and baun but it's going to be tough.  Have to replenish the DE in the draft.  Keeping Williams and barn means becton is gone as well.  good news is we will probably have some really good comp picks in the 2026 draft.  Roseman is going to have some tough decisions, maybe a shake up type trade to keep the energy up.

Other good news is people will want to come here for a ring or to rebrand themselves

Sounds like BG didn't commit to retiring after the game.  It would be great to have him back for one more year in the EDGE rotation if we lose Sweat, especially since it won't cost much considering needs elsewhere.

We would have Smith + Hunt starting, along with BG, Huff, and a highly drafted rookie in the rotation.  That would be solid.

The world needs more Jameis Winston

Liking Jameis Winston was not on my Super Bowl bingo card either.

That is probably the most unbelievable thing that happened this past week.

Did it on Trey Smith. A few of you thought was some great Guard in the league, nope.

Did she really ask "are you guys gonna try to go for 2"

No Dianna.  We're gonna use next season to rest up.

We cant talk about him.  Hes off limits.

If the game was tighter than he'd probably cry to the refs.  At this point the game was over and he already looked defeated way before that.

Next season is a trap season

Yup.  The backups also earned the right to have their moment on that stage during the game.    And how great for Kenny Pickett... Eagles fan as a kid getting to step on the field and take some snaps in the Super Bowl for the Eagles?!   :towel:

There's just so much to like about this team isn't there ?

Weird but before the game i thought it'd be great if they were up enough to let the backups end the game.

Never expected it but here we are 😀.

Redemption for 2 years ago.

Barkley letting other guys have snaps in earlier games.

Brandon Graham, what an effort to get on the field.

And Becton in tears again, what a story.

What a team , i every sense of the word👏 👏

My feelings back in Feb '18 were a mix of unbridled joy and huge relief.  The overriding thought was that I wasn't going to be going to my grave never having seen the Birds win the SB.  It felt like a big load was finally removed from my back.

This one is pure enjoyment.  In a strange way it is better.  Less dramatic and somehow more a sense of rewarding calm.  My overriding thought is that we just witnessed the greatest Eagles team having the greatest Eagles season playing the Eagles greatest game.

I’ve been an Eagles fan since Randall Cunningham. I knew this defense was good, but I wouldn’t have put them above the Buddy Ryan defenses of the 1988-1992 seasons.

It was 34-0 before the chiefs showed anything on offense. Complete shutdown defense for 3 quarters on the biggest stage. Best Eagles defense ever… the conversation can be started, but they have to show some duration. Superbowl LIX might be the best single game performance by an Eagles defense I can remember.

I took a glance.

I believe that our 95 combined points scored in the CG and SB are the most all-time.

Jalyx Hunt man... I think Howie found himself another stud. Don't forget when he was drafted the narrative was similar to Mailata. He's a convert, he's 2 years away. Dude stepped in for BG and was really good. What a draft Howie had. Wouldn't have won a SB without it.

ESPN's main website home page today:

Can't ignore the Eagles, first article about how they were able to dominate.

Immediately after: looking ahead to Power Rankings heading into next season. They put the Eagles 4th (Chiefs, Bills, Lions then Eagles).

Go ahead, keep doubting. They'll go and repeat next year.

I love that every player is humble and not about themselves. Media and even many of us fans tried to make controversy out of things, and the team didn't take the bait. They stayed together and made it about the team. Hurts passing stats, he says he just cares about winning. Brown rumor last year about wanting to be traded, people said Smitty won't want to sign a contract here, why bother with Barkley, Brown not happy with passing, Barkley not happy about not going for the record.

The players care about the TEAM and about winning.

I’m definitely feeling better about our chance to repeat than after 2017. The team is younger and more all around talented. There’s also not an awkward QB situation.
