absolutely. It was a defensive masterclass of getting to the passer without losing your gap/lane integrity. I asked in the thread about MVP because if the game had ended at the half, I truly believe that Sweat should have been the MVP, he had 2 sacks and caused the Baun interception by running Thuney into Mahomes while throwing. Hurts rushing in big spots and a couple big throws are what made him MVP, but only because you couldn't give it to the whole D.

Yep.Ā  I think the DL really deserved MVP, but they have to pick an individual, and frankly... that's a QB award too.Ā  Ā Hurts played great, don't get me wrong, but I think the DL was the biggest factor in the game.Ā  Ā They were unrelenting and they destroyed any semblance of a game plan that Big Red had put together.

I did the choreography AND designed the outfits.

Afterwards I shagged every one of those birds and made them call me Santa.

22 year old rookie, playing in the biggest game of your career, getting a pick-6 to put your team up 3 scores and on your way to a ring. What a rush that must've been.Ā

Ā

The play speaks for itself, but the crowd roar in a neutral site stadium makes this clip. Especially when listening with headphones.Ā

It was looking to be Sweat until Jalen hit Smith for the TD.

It is realistic. You’re just an idiot. 😘

Has any RB ever had back to back 2,000 yard seasons? I honestly don’t know. Maybe OJ did it. I hope his ghost comes for youĀ

I could have sworn there was one blitz late, sometime in the fourth quarter. Mahomes completed a pass against it...I think. I'll be looking.

I definitely remember Baun rushing but maybe someone else dropped off into coverage.Ā

I have tried to preach confidence for weeks and months. There are too many Eagles fans with PTSD from decades of losing, previous let downs with teams that should have won and didn't.

  • We had those 80s high hopes in the 1980 SB, having finally beat the Cowboys and seeing that famous Montgomery TD run against the Cowboys. Only to lose the SB.
  • We had the 90s amazing defense and the exciting Randall, but that team never won even a playoff game. Let down, and we had to watch the Cowboys go and win 3 Super Bowls.
  • Reid brought winning but couldn't get over the hump. Heart breaking NFCCG losses, high expectations and a SB loss by only 3 points, with Spygate and the Pats getting in trouble for cheating. We also saw the Giants win 2 SBs during that time with goofy Eli and being a wild card team. Why can't we get over the hump? We deserve it.Ā
  • 2017 team, we had a let down with Wentz getting hurt and wondering if we could go far. Even in the win, we were all holding our breath on the last hail mary play. I was thinking, you never know with Brady. The clock hit 0 and I paused, said to my friend is it really over? I wanted to be sure there wasn't some fluke flag called or something.Ā
  • 2022 we were let down by that crappy field, Gannon's defense twice let Chiefs WRs wide open for easy TDs, and the refs bailed them out.
  • 2023 they had an epic collapse and it left a bad taste in our mouths continuing into this season.

So I get it. We're used to let downs. We're used to being anxious. We call it "passion" when guys are saying the game is over/season over when it's the 1st quarter of a regular season game and it's only 7-0. It's anxiety and over the top negativity.

It needs to end. This year, there was still some leftover feeling from last year's collapse. I blamed Siri mainly for that collapse, and seeing his immature antics and bad game management early, I thought he learned nothing. I called for them to fire him. He got national attention for yelling at his own fans and being immature. We worried they hadn't learned from last year. They started 2-2 and we worried going into the bye. They turned it around. Siri got more focused and balanced. Fangio's defense took off. The offense found its identity. DeJean inserted as a starter. Baun and Becton reclaimed their career here. The team began to not just scrape by with "ugly wins" and leave us thinking they're going to collapse again. No, they dominated teams. People worried about the Rams, Bengals, Ravens, Steelers, even the Commanders.Ā

This team had swagger, confidence, played aggressive, bullied other teams into submission, all they talked about was team and winning. Every time there was some drama talked about (Barkley not getting records, Hurts/Brown about the passing game, Brown reading a book), the team stuck together and had each other's backs.Ā

They were the best team in the NFL, and dominated in the playoffs. They dominated and embarrassed the Chiefs, who were already thinking 3peat and expected to win easily. They had no answer. Mahomes was rattled. Reid looked lost and shocked.Ā

And we can put down the hurt and disappointments from the past. This team did not disappoint.Ā They are set up well to repeat.

They are the best team in the NFL and Super Bowl Champions.

Sure.Ā  But the rout was already on by then.Ā  It was 27-0 at that point.Ā  That was the icing on the cake.

Sweat will go to one of the Florida teams on a 4 year contract and play well for maybe 1Ā

Penalties - Yards 7-75

8-59Ā  - Guess who had more calls against?Ā

yeah this is the concern with sweat. I think his performance is going to fall off a cliff at some point with that terrible knee. Ā I think jalyx hunt takes his spot. Ā So you need to replace graham and hopefully huff. Ā

Yes. I found it. It was a zone blitz and Nolan Smith dropped into coverage. Does that count?

Whether it was packed with Eagles fans or just fans not wanting to see Chiefs win... it was awesome to hear

They are in denial like the 49ers fans. LOL. 49ers window is more shut tho. But they may go down a tier from top 3 status next year. I believe they have some aging in key spots that may catch up with no real replacements to come in.

Albert Breer thinks the Eagles let Baun and Becton walk, but he's just speculating. I don't see any way the Eagles let Baun walk he's so important to that defense. I think that comes from the Eagles history at LB, but I think this is one instance where they pony up.
