There’s a lot in this quote is a lot cause I’d argue there’s history that can support it and history that that says that's not entirely accurate

I believe some in the building felt that way pre-draft and others did not.  I seem to remember Andy Weidl visiting with him at Oklahoma and coming back with that sentiment, "he's a winner".  I believe he brought Doug Pederson around to that way of thinking and together they convinced Howie it was the correct path, given Wentz's injury (and other) issues.

Lurie was probably more difficult to convince because he'd just written the check for Wentz's mega extension.  In this moment I think he's parroting what Weidl told him, though.

It's the Carter sack,

I'll throw an underrated one not mentioned yet. Dallas Goederts 61 yard catch and run against the Saints on 3rd and 16 with a minute left that set up the game winning TD. Without that play Eagles are 1-3 heading into the bye and who knows how much more unraveled they would have been.

Member when the usual suspects were queefing uncontrollably about Hurts allegedly having "analytically the worst QB performance ever in a playoff game!"

Sadly not bud. I stupidly thought the parade would be yesterday (in the UK most sport team celebrations are the next day) so I booked for us to stay until today. We fly out this evening.

Reschedule flight.. sleep on subway.  Don't miss the parade

Carter sack might be most important. I think you can make a case for the Pick 6 and Barkley TD in the snow too. Not sure the Eagles score on that drive if not for Barkley's TD in the snow or if they score again in that game. If not for that TD they probably lose.

As for most iconic: I think definitely pick 6 or Barkley TD in the snow. Just the spectacle of those moments were unmatched.

What was your most important play of the 2024 season?

Toss up for me between Saquon's TD in the snow and DeJean's pick 6. Smitty's TD was up there, but I think the game was close to decided at that point.

Barkley's TD in the NFCCG also a candidate.

Carter sack vs Stafford as well.

Of the postseason? Carter sack on Stafford otherwise Eagles are losing that game.

Of the season? Barkley's TD run in the 4th quarter of the Saints game immediately after DeVonta went out with the ugly concussion.  Team was looking at 1-2 (1-3 k owing the whooping that came the following week in Tampa) and thar score suddenly gave the team life that had been shooting itself in the foot all game offensively.

I'll be honest and say that your best bet might be to park in the burbs and take SEPTA in.  The traffic is likely to be looney on the way in, and beyond crazy on the way out.  If you are coming down from NY... Amtrak would get you to 30th Street station, and that's a stone's throw from the Parkway, if that's the route they plan to go with this time.  2018 the route was up Broad St, then up the Parkway culminating at the Art Museum.   Frankly, I don't see why they would choose a new route.  That route seems to be ideal, and the Parkway area near the Art Museum has that huge area for overflow crowds.

NJT to Trenton and then switch to SEPTA is an option to Amtrak.

Just another socially awkward loser who paid for a blue checkmark to make himself feel special and important. To his credit, he admits to not knowing anything in his first sentence, so we should've probably stopped reading right then.

Someone was mentioning the upcoming America's Game episode for the Eagles on NFL Network.  My guess is the three Eagles featured would be Hurts, Sirianni, and AJ Brown.  I would say someone from the defense, but not sure if Graham or Slay would be selected in that spot.

What a beautiful Tuesday because we are

Rewatched some of the game last night and man did Mahomes play like absolute dogshit. He was just so, so bad. Not that I think it matters, we still win easily even if he has a better game, but it's almost incomprehensible how off he was. Reminds me of how poorly the NE defense played 7 years ago too.

There was a tackle early game where he got caught by the leg and his head flopped around as he came down and if it didn't hit the turf it came damn close. I wonder if he got his bell rung a little bit and then some of the sacks he took were pretty hefty hits, especially the strip sack.

I do think they were obsessed with him coming out of the draft. I also think they believed he could potentially be a special player with his intangibles. they wouldn’t have drafted him in the second round after giving Carson wentz the extension that they gave if they didn’t. But I don’t 100% believe that they knew this is how it was going to play out. First i think they wanted wentz to be the guy and he fell apart and didn’t want to come back. I gave the theory at the time they drafted him with the thought if Carson wentz didn’t look the same as he did the second half of 2019 that they would have a succession plan in place to get out of that contract in a year or two. And if he did they had a cheap backup and could eventually deal him and get value for him. Also they were rumored to be on Watson and Wilson in the 2022 offseason. Fortunately neither wanted to be here.

So I'm going to order one SB patch jersey. Maybe two. I don't think I want to do Hurts since I own like 3 other Hurts jerseys. If I didn't own one I probably would since he was MVP. I'm thinking Jalen Carter maybe.

I only have a Dawkins jersey (which I'm wearing today at work), so I got the LIX jersey for Hurts preordered.  In the future I'll probably get Smith and Aj's, but one will be in white, and the other will be kelly green

Eh, I think they are safe with him. He's going to be 28 years old and has started 14 games over 6 years. This isn't a Big V situation. I don't think that many teams are going to back up the Brinks truck for a journeyman swing tackle. Then again, Big V was 27 going in to his 1st year with the Lions.

I can see the Eagles giving him a 2-year deal with a bit of an increase.

Or replace him with a more reliable OT. He got taken to the cleaners in one game, wouldn't trust him against a top pass rusher without a lot of help.

No surprise but Rap Sheet says Nussmeier will join Moore in NO.

Hate to see Nuss go but an hour up I10 to watch his boy on Saturday seems to good to pass up.  But Eagles do have to give permission if a lateral.

Here’s a crazy stat

Zach Baun:

Super bowl - interception

NFCCG - forced a fumble and recovered another

Divisional - fumble recovery

Wild Card - interception

I’m wondering if there’s another defensive player at any time who was involved in a turnover in every playoff game.

Pay the man!!

I'd imagine he'll be OC so it's not a lateral move
