It’s different having your slot corner follow around Kelce, a glorified slot. I’m talking having outside corners flip sides and follow No. 1s into the slot.

I just find it so great that both Mitchell's  and Slay's names were almost none existent. A big hit by Mitchell in the open field early and an unfortunate late TD given up in garbage time was about it. It was clear KC didn't want anything to do with them. Couple that with giving up on the running game starting on the first series, and I am surprised the score was as close as it was..the Eagles could have easily put up 50+ with no resistance.

Are we thinking Patullo is given OC job?

Eagles had some class and played backups while Andy/Pat wanted the score to look better and not be utterly embarassed. That was a maaaaassssive blowout of epic proportion. 4th Q was absolutely irrelevant. Was busy on social media for most of it. And Eagles didn't run it up intentionally by running mostly and settling for FGS.

The question about Hurts and the team now is whether they can do it again.

Next season is the real test

Watch Kelce.

Still disrespecting.

I saw that article. Based on some next gen DVOA stat variant. Good example of how the pure numbers often don’t tell the story. Have to be top 10 for sure.

The party started at the end of 3rd quarter inside the stadium...when Hurts hit Smith with the dagger. Every TV time out featured stadium music and people in green dancing and singing in the aisles and rows. By the time the game ended it was so anti-climactic...the celebrations were already toning down.

They scored the most points in NFL postseason history, put together the best rushing season the NFL has ever seen, and had the number one defense in the league. You could make a more convincing case that they're the most complete NFL football team ever assembled.

"Check the record" Dak says when talking about how the Cowboys are very close to the Eagles and how they beat them for the most part.

Haven't had a chance to watch yet but posting anyway as he usually puts out good stuff

I'd guess so, yea.

Maybe bring in a more experienced QB coach or senior offensive assistant to help out too.

I’m just gonna say that I still believe the coaching staff was hiding Hurts after his early season struggles and didn’t really trust him for much of the season. I said some time in the past 4-6 weeks that if we didn’t win the Super Bowl that it would be because of the QB.

Hurts stepped up big time and turned the clock back to 2022 in the NFC championship game and Super Bowl. That’s awesome. I would like to see more of that in 2025.

They cut him loose in the Steeler game but then he was hurt immediately in the following game against Wash. They really didn’t want to take any chances with GB since he hadn’t played in three weeks and we were up after two plays. Then we had the snow game.

Yup.  After the game ended I was thinking top 10 out of 59, based on being up 30+ points in both the NFC Championship Game and Super Bowl.  Not even the 1985 Bears accomplished that.

What is everyone buying? I have a million shirts and hats so I just bought my wife and I Saquon jerseys with the SB patch. I bought papers and magazines for 52 since it was the first, as well as a signed picture of the BG strip sack and signed picture of kelce at the parade with a transcript of his speech on it. I don't think I'm going to buy anything like that for this one (partly because the covers are all pretty lame IMO).

Thinking about buying my FIL, who lives near Paris TX and was a huge Oilers fan and hates the cowpads, at Super Bowl champions T-shirt to wear when he goes to the store or doctors’ offices around town.

So I went grocery shopping today, saw a guy wearing an Eagles stocking cap and, of course, I said "go Birds”.  Guy and I spent at least ten minutes discussing the Birds. He may show up here because I gave him the link.

He wanted to pad his stats.  He was embarrassed and wanted the box score to look better.  It was a D move.  His teammates deserved a chance to get on the field and have their moment, even in a losing effort.

And no, he doesn't have enough credibility to call his own shots there.  Players are always under obligation to think of their teammates.   There was literally nothing of consequence to be gained by him going out there, but there was something to be gained for his teammates who hadn't gotten the chance to actually step onto the field in a Super Bowl.

The Eagles molly-whopped the Chiefs in SB59 by a score of 40 to 6.  That is what happened.  Anything after this screenshot is irrelevant.

My buddy got so pissed off after KC failed on the 4th down and the Eagles stepped on their neck on first down with that TD, with what 3 minutes left in the 3rd? He thought they would run it a few times, burn some clock and kick a FG.  He would win the qtr in a squares pot...

I told him...anytime you get a TO on the opponent side of the field you go for the TD on first down...then try and run it to burn clock...lol, he was so mad at me. It was quite funny because he was hammered too. He is the DA that I told take the Eagles to win and cover and he didn't...he was mad at me for reminding him of that as well. Good times.

The "clutch gene" thing is hard to define most of the time. We didn't really know Stafford had it until he got the hell out of Detroit.

That said, I think Allen and Lamar don't have it. Allen is 4-1 against the Chiefs in the regular season, 1-4 in the playoffs. Lamar had probably the best roster in the AFC and didn't even make it to the AFCCG.

How many times did the talking heads lament how unfortunate Allen and Lamar have it - great QBs annually blocked by Mahomes' greatness. Now what?

Fun little story...one of my favorite former students left school at 16 to go to the famous Mitchell College Beauty School in LA. She has since carved out a career doing the hair of Hollywood's finest. She is quite in demand. She is Nicole Kidman's personal stylist and flies around the world with her for Cannes among others. The past 2 NFL seasons she has been working with Erin Andrews on the sideline at every game Erin does. I got to see my student at the game...she had a little table set up on the sideline behind the Chiefs bench....not a bad little gig.

BUT BUT BUT...

Mahomes threw for 3 TDs.   He threw for over 250 yards!  He had a passer rating of 95.4!   And they only lost by 18.  He wasn't that bad.

He passed for more yards and more TDs than the MVP!  Mahomes is the bestest!  Great game, just a bad break for him.

I agree about Lamar. Supremely talented, but time and time again he's been garbage in the playoffs.

Allen on the other hand I don't agree with, at least not entirely. He's come up short, but he's also been pretty damn outstanding in the playoffs for his career. Just continually has bad breaks, too.

He got straight into Brandon Coleman's chest.  Coleman has 34 5/8 " arms which is above average for an OT.  He could not anchor or get ahold of anything on Hunt.  He did not expect Hunt's power.  Thuney has short arms even for a guard. He had no chance.

I get that Thuney is their second best OL (after Creed) but never understood the move to OT.  I realize he’s a rookie and for some reason they have him backing up Taylor, but what’s up with Suamataia?  I had him on my draft board for swing OT for the Eagles with an eye towards starting when Lane retired. He needed refining but how bad can he be?

I’ve always said I wish Jerry Jones would live forever.  I can now add to that and say I hope that Dak joins the TB12 longevity program (or whatever Tom did) and stays in the league until age 45.

But then, after really thinking about it, I guess it doesn’t matter. I don’t think the Cowboys are really our top rival in the division anymore. I think most people would see that it’s going to be Washington in the immediate future, and I honestly would not be surprised if the Giants become more formidable than the Cowboys in the next 2-3 years (sorry @Joe Ball ….you’re a good poster, but it’s true)

On that DeJean pick 6, Ojomo bull rushed his guy so hard knocking him back 8 yards before the OLs feet even caught up with him and then escorts DeJean into the endzone.

A couple of things come to mind for Allen:

  1. 3 of the 4 games were at Arrowhead, the toughest place to play in the league on the road, especially in the playoffs
  2. The refs...c'mon, we've even seen the stats on the calls in Chiefs games
  3. Mahomes IS a great QB, he just doesn't need help from the refs

Lamar I believe may not have it...but Allen? The only QB's to beat Allen in the playoffs are Mahomes 4x and Burrow once, and Allen hasn't had near the supporting cast either of them had this year particularly. I think he will win a championship at some point I just hope it doesn't take as long as it took Stafford.

No apology necessary, those are facts. I said it last offseason, I fear a complete rebuild is near...and necessary.
