Feels like there’s a good chance he is looking for a new job next year when McDaniel gets fired

My first thought was that it was dollars spent, but that would be a disingenuous stat then because it's going to get broken every single year as price of goods goes up. They really should do items purchased if that's the case

And yet, what incentive would Fanatics have to not make each year be a new record?

We'll see who need surgery on what, but considering everyone played the entire game I don't anticipate anyone needing a 7+ month recovery.

Dean, but that’s about it.

I’m still not sure what Barkley looks like next year either.

If they trust Hurts to be the guy he was at the end of the year and not the guy he was at the beginning of the year, then they can lean much heavier on the passing game, and Barkley's work load can be reduced dramatically from this past year... getting maybe only about 12-15 carries a game rather than 20+, especially if they add a back in the draft that can carry some of the load, or if they will trust Shipley this year.

If this RB class is as loaded as people are saying, I'd be disappointed if we don't get a good one this year. Saquon likely has one more healthy season at best with his current workload.

Interesting because Darrell Bevell was one of Eagles options and he is in a senior role there.

Crazy that he couldn't even get an OC job after being in the running for HC jobs last year.

Not For Long

Oh I didn't even think about dean, I figured he would've already done his surgery. Did he not?

Which is why I can't fault Moore for moving on after just 1 year here. He already got a ring, and all it takes is a season-ending Hurts injury for him to lose opportunities overnight.

Yup.  Exactly right.   And, for good or for bad, it seems its harder to get your first job, rather than another one when the first one fails.  Even Rich Kotite was hired immediately again after he was fired once!!!

He did end of January but it’s a torn patellar tendon. The initial diagnosis is he’s likely to miss the start of the next season.

Idk why but I’m not too worried about Barkley, he’s one of those guys that it’s absolutely crazy about taking care of his body. I have faith he will do whatever he has to do this offseason and he will have another great season next year.

I believe he did, but I think the recovery is a long one.

Yep. And all the talk about the Saints being a terrible destination, that’s usually the case for teams hiring a new HC. The rare occurrence that the team isn’t currently a complete dumpster fire just makes competition that much harder to land the job. I’m not sure Moore would ever be the top candidate of any cycle.

Has Dean had his surgery yet?

Teams can be a dumpster fire but sometimes there's a path to a QB and cap space available.  Saints need to bottom out still.  But I get taking the job. They are hard to get

Dude gets fired for not being agile enough to move off the Shanahan stuff.

First boss after firing? Shanahan's top disciple. Guy doesn't seem to get it.

But... he's got himself a job and stays in the fraternity.  So, he's not in too bad a shape.

Just ordered a Saquon Barkley Superbowl bobblehead

Are we thinking Patullo is given OC job?

Patullo is Nick's guy. Patullo just said when interviewed (last week?) that he does half an OC job and half a HC job.  If he isn't the OC I would be shocked.

And frankly, if WE can see what to work on to take what they have and improve it here and there, surely we do not need some wunderkind to change it all up.  Run the ball, do play action, focus on quick releases, hurry up to keep the rhythm, take some shots. Add in a couple of under center snaps.  Teach them how to do a screen (start with having the big guys block for the little guys not the other way around).  Throw some to Barkley and the RBs.

How hard can it be?
