On January 30th, I had this convo with a friend.. You're right.  Saw it coming...

I was saying minimum 2 scores. I expected Barkley to do a lot more, but knew the defense would eat.

I also don't get the hate. The NFL is the one putting her on the screen. A million celebrities at these games all year long but she's the only one they constantly show. Not her fault and people really overdo it

She was booed because it was an aggressively loud Philly home field advantage and she’s dating a Chiefs player.  No different than if they put her up on the screen at the Linc.

Stout thanks the fans :worthy:

Exactly… It was nothing more than Philly fan domination, and Chief affiliation boos

Somebody build that man a statue…stat

Stout for OC. He's already the run game coordinator. Just run every play.

Yep I’ve been to Flyers games where they showed a Rangers fan on the screen and the crowd booed. People are making a bigger deal about it then it is

I wonder if the opening games is vs Lions. I’m not sure they would give us that high profile of a match of the bat but it would have a ton of juice. If they wait to do that game it could be end up a dud with how much turnover they are having.

I have a feeling Barkley is the exception to the rule…will have 4-5 more great seasons barring major injury.

A lot of carries, but barely gets touched behind this OL.

Oh no, nobody likes us…

It would be fascinating to know how many teams have come to him with that offer just to try to pry him away. It’s impossible to think he gets zero interviews every year. Especially with teams that have offensive HC’s that call plays.

Feel the same, he takes care of himself and the offseason seriously.

freak athletes like that AP, Barry, Henry are good well into their 30’s

What's the pattern they usually do for the SB champs? Last time we opened against the Falcons which happened to be a rematch of the divisional round, but we played the NFC South that year. We also had the AFC South, and had a rematch against the Vikings later that year.

I've never heard what his aspirations or goals might be. Does he even want to do more, or just retire doing this?

There might be something up with this guy.  Was a HC candidate after a really good year for Stroud.  Now 1 year later he's fired eventhough they made the playoffs and lost WRs throughout the year.

Maybe him and Stroud didn't get along.

The schedule opponents and location is completely by formula.

How is the formula determined?  I understand the opponent formula. How is the location decided?

Don’t know if there is a set pattern besides it’s usually not a divisional opponent. I think they would want it to have some appeal being the first game so I don’t see it being Raiders. Denver, Chicago maybe. I could see it being Rams and another Divisional round repeat.

I think he's very happy as an OL coach and running game coordinator.  He knows his niche and doesn't have the ego to want more.  He's very content, it seems from the outside, just being identified as one of the very best to ever do what he does.

Frankly, I think he's as good an OL coach as the league has ever seen.  There have been a few great eras of OL players with franchises.  Raiders of the 70s with Art Shell, Gene Upshaw and Jim Otto... then to the Hogs of the 80s with Joe Jacoby, Jeff Bostic, Mark May, etc.  to the Cowboys of the 90s (as much as I hate to say it), the Eagles OL under Stoutland has been one of the very best ever for a prolonged period of time... and he's developed some great OL.  Peters was great when he got here, but Stout made him better.  Lane Johnson.  Jason Kelce.  Brandon Brooks.  Landon Dickerson.  Jordan Mailata.  Now Cam Jurgens, and reclaiming Mekhi Becton.  The guy is elite.  And, its guys like him that should get into the HoF as assistant coaches.  I know they don't do it, but they really should.  The game isn't the game without them!

Thats what I meant. I have to imagine he’s just content doing what he does. There’s no other reason he wouldn’t be in more demand.

It has to be a home opponent, but they seem to like to do conference championship rematches quite often, not all the time, but often.  Its almost always 2 playoff teams from the previous year, but I agree, not a divisional opponent.

Division opponents both home and away. 6 games

Play each NFC and AFC division on rotation every 3 years. Alternates home and away for each team. 7 games.

Play the team that finishes in the same spot in their division in the same conference. Home and away is determined on alternating years with divisions. 3 games.

Each division plays a team from the other conference in a division based on a 4 year rotation. This is determined by what spot the team finishes in as well. Alternates home and away by conference. 1 game

I do like your suggestion of the Lions. That is very marketable, the 2 top NFC teams (by record). The Commanders we obviously play anyway and that will be the NFCCG rematch.

There's always Defensive Coordinator, the natural progression.

I edited I know  How the opponents are determined.  I didn't know location so thank you.
