I might be.    I didn't watch many Chiefs games this year... by choice.  I hate watching them, so if they were my other option on a Sunday... I found other things to fill my time.  (Actually, I find myself watching fewer and fewer other NFL games these days.  Maybe due to overexposure and games now on Thursday, Friday, and any other day they can manage to squeeze in a game.)

He looked washed through out the game before those isolation shots on him.  I expected the Chiefs to try to use him like Washington used Ertz.  I honestly don't know why they didn't.  On a few occasions, I suppose they did, but DeJean might have just been too good.  But, unlike Ertz, I don't think Kelce has the mental part of the game.   I think he's gotten by mostly on his athleticism, and now that that is waning, I don't see him having the longevity of Ertz.  Ertz just understands how to find the soft spots in a zone and how to manipulate the man covering him.   So, I think Ertz can play another year or two or even three, if the team he's on is willing to let him do that.   Kelce is done as a centerpiece of an offense.

But, again, I still don't get why the game plan was for him to be in isolation blocking our EDGE.  It doesn't make sense.  And like I said, its exactly what ended the 49ers' chance 2 years ago in the NFC CG.  🤷‍♂️

I think that CGCJ hit to start the game on Kelce hurt more than he let on.

At 37 and having a week off, I bet your body starts to feel a bit better and your first play is a whiplash hit to the back. He probably was like F do I want to be here.

He and Mahomes also love to freelance and when do your own thing at times with that pass rush and the coverage it just doesn't work

The Cooper Dejean experience has probably turned Howie on to 2nd round trade ups.  Trading up in round 1 from 32 is expensive.  Trading up in round 2 for a prospect you had a round 1 grade on...not so much.

I'm sure Howie would rather come out of this draft with 2 blue chip players and no depth than 5-6 Johny Wilsons and Ainias Smiths.  So I'd expect him to try to consolidate his #32 draft position in every round into the opportunity to get 1-3 more talented players with just a small volume of later picks.

I don’t see it that way.  I see him selling for higher value in next year’s draft before moving up in this one

I suppose a Nolan Smith situation might happen, but more likely we’ll have a bunch of similarly graded guys on the board making a tradeback optimal.

Yeah I don’t really see the comparison. At all.

I remember gruden saying when he was in philly with garner that hed never seen a back hit the hole so fast and sometimes it didnt allow the blocks to develop

When garner was in Oak with Gruden he said the O lineman said garner was hitting it to hard and needed to slow it down, so instead of telling Grner to slow down to the hole he told his O lineman to speed up.

Dude was explosive.

Mic'd up is out today

So sick of this guy, he better not show his face at the parade.  Never seen a former Eagle be more miserable at the team's success without them.

Entire play was a beauty

In some of the other replays, you can actually see AJ Brown celebrating before the pass is even caught.

Unsurprisingly, people are taking that and twisting it so that it seems like AJ Brown is unhappy in Philly and wants to leave or that he would rather lose with good stats than win

He was traded to the Patriots last month. Time to let it go.

It's kind of cool to watch the progression of a RB from rookie to 3rd and 4th year (especially the great ones). In most cases, not all, they come in fresh, young, explosive, hitting the holes as you have described. A couple of years later, and especially with any continuity on the line they end up slowing things down and letting the blocks set-up and let the play develop a bit more.

He will be there on Friday and it will be great. Anyone giving him crap for cheering for his brother is a dope.

Travis just played terrible in the SB and they were blown out, of course he’s going to feel bad and not celebrate too hard immediately in public.

He worded that terribly. Happy for "some” of the Eagles players. It was just a bad clip that’s going to get him buried in Philly the next few days.

I’m aware. I’m saying that Jason almost breaking into tears bc Travis didn’t win his 4th is cringe.

Maybe they should let Kylie be in the spotlight and run the podcast and have Jason stay at home and watch the kids. He just put his whole shoe in his mouth.

We might not be able to count on Nakobe at all next year. Do we re-sign Burks and let him compete with Trotter Jr in camp?

The only LB under contract as of now is Trotter Jr. BVS is a RFA and coming off an injury, but should be healthy relatively soon. BVS is an interesting case. He might be better off at FB/ST ace. Having him as a Swiss army knife saves a roster spot though. He's far from a sure thing and again, isn't currently signed.

IMO, you have to bring back both Baun and Burks. Burks proved he's more than capable of filling in for Dean. Last year Burks signed a 1-year deal for $1.5 with the Eagles. His UFA deal with the 49ers in 2022 was a 2-year $5 million deal. He was 25 or 26 when he signed that deal. He turns 30 next month. I think the Eagles bring him back on another 1-year deal with a slight bump in salary. Maybe a 1-year $2-2.5 million deal?

I'd wager Dean doesn't play at all in 2025 and sadly, we may have seen his last game as an Eagle. Torn patellar tendons are worse injuries than torn ACLs. 2025 is the last year of his rookie deal. There's no guarantee that Dean is here after 2025. Let's hope he heals 100% and comes back at the same playing level he was but that seems like a long shot right now.

2025 LB- Baun (29), Burks(30), Trotter Jr.(23), BVS/rookie (Dean on PUP).

I just did a roster projection but the more I look at it, the more LB is a major need. I mentioned Danny Stutsman in a previous post too. He's a huge LB, but I think he could fill in quite nicely.

Sign Baun and Becton I’m not letting a 26 year old stud guard walk after paving roads for a prime Barkley

I took it as Jason almost breaking into tears because he was being pulled by two sides wanting his complete support when that's just not going to happen

The Milton Williams situation is a weird one because you figure he's going to get 20-25m per season and that's a lot for a rotational DT. Especially if the Eagles want to upgrade edge rusher.

But when's the last time the Eagles let a young stud DL who is 25/26 walk away? It would be virtually unheard of for this organization. It's a position the Eagles value highly, he was just huge in a Super Bowl, and they could easily let Jordan Davis walk instead. Tough call.

I'd definitely keep him over Becton though if I had to choose. I think you can find stud OGs especially with Stoutland.

Baun is a non-starter, gotta keep him. He's not just "a LB" he played like a top 5 DPOY guy, he's a legit difference maker.

I agree Sweat is gone, but they can replace him. Add someone in FA(maybe Fowler?) and draft a guy or two. Probably two. Or if you're feeling bold go for Garrett.

If Slay goes they probably re-sign Rodgers and just start him. He was pretty good and still young enough for upside.

Agree re: Burks assuming he doesn't break the bank (he shouldn't).  We need Baun AND Burks back.  Unfortunately we can't assume Dean will be back next year, or ever.

The problem is that Williams will cost ~2x what Becton will cost.  I'd rather keep Williams if the price was similar, but if he really gets $25m/yr we just can't afford him.  Take the 3rd round comp pick and replace him in this draft that has tons of DT talent.
