I think Ringo moves outside and let Cooper stay inside.  The advantage of Cooper inside is he makes it easier for Vic to have a light box with 5 db's. There's no need to move him when you can just keep him on the field full-time.

Yup

Coop is your nickel, third lb and third safety all at once. Perfect right where he is

Yeah Nakobe's injury sounds pretty devastating. It would be great for him to get back to where he was but I wouldn't put any money on it. It's a shame. At least he got a Super Bowl ring. He was a huge part of the defensive success this year.

We might not be able to count on Nakobe at all next year. Do we re-sign Burks and let him compete with Trotter Jr in camp?

I think bringing Burks back makes sense. I also wouldn't be opposed to them adding a LB in the draft.

Seems just like yesterday when 90% of the EMB was livid with Howie for wasting a second rounder on a backup QB. Good times.

He worded that terribly. Happy for "some” of the Eagles players. It was just a bad clip that’s going to get him buried in Philly the next few days.

He has a brother on the other team. Boo hoo he didn’t crap talk his brother’s team all week.

Chiefs had one of the worst performances in SB history. It wasn’t a good game for anyone other than Eagle fans.

The Milton Williams situation is a weird one because you figure he's going to get 20-25m per season and that's a lot for a rotational DT. Especially if the Eagles want to upgrade edge rusher.

But when's the last time the Eagles let a young stud DL who is 25/26 walk away? It would be virtually unheard of for this organization. It's a position the Eagles value highly, he was just huge in a Super Bowl, and they could easily let Jordan Davis walk instead. Tough call.

I'd definitely keep him over Becton though if I had to choose. I think you can find stud OGs especially with Stoutland.

Baun is a non-starter, gotta keep him. He's not just "a LB" he played like a top 5 DPOY guy, he's a legit difference maker.

I agree Sweat is gone, but they can replace him. Add someone in FA(maybe Fowler?) and draft a guy or two. Probably two. Or if you're feeling bold go for Garrett.

If Slay goes they probably re-sign Rodgers and just start him. He was pretty good and still young enough for upside.

Baun threw a wrench into the traditional plan. Howie has to pay the LB now

I think you're being a touch too harsh with Andy here. The Chiefs' game plan was their usual - short quick throws underneath to control the clock and frustrate the opponent. However, what had worked all year didn't work against the Eagles. Those short throws were challenged; two were intercepted. The Eagles squeezed them. As far as the pass protection goes, they were outmanned everywhere. Of course they doubled Carter - they had no choice - but it became clear almost immediately that their other three OL could not handle whoever was in front of them. Yes, Kelce looks washed on those two plays posted here, but he was not alone. I would go so far as to say that sometime in the second quarter, the Chiefs quit. Not all of them, of course, but enough.

This. I thought Fran Duffy did a really good job talking about chiefs offense plays into what the eagles defense wants you to do leading up to the game. Essentially Fran said the Chiefs are not gonna beat you with big plays. That’s not their offense anymore like it had been in the past when they had guys like tyreek hill. It is been long methodical drives with a bunch of plays to get where they wanted to go. If i remember correctly they were bottom 10 in the league in big plays (remember Sheil giving that stat leading up to the game).  Fran discussed like most of us already knew the Eagles wanted to force teams have to methodical drives with a lot of plays. Because usually you’re going to make a mistake having to sustain drives with more and more plays. and if they don’t eagles red zone defense has been good enough to hold teams to FGs. Imo i also don’t love Matt Nagy as their OC. I get Reid is still guy in charge of everything but the two years where Nagy has been the OC their offense has been the worst over the mahomes era. I get there’s a ton of other factors but i think they could find better and someone that might be able to help the offense and maybe a new set of eyes for Reid

also, like you touched on their offensive line has not been nearly as good in years past. I thought Fran also did an excellent job pointing out that since thuney moved to LT and caliendo moved into LG that their running game got worse. They weren’t great prior but they had a drop off. Surprising stat was they nearly lost yards on half of their rush attempts with their backs since they made that move. Tbh thuney needs to be at LG and they need to find a LT and RT cause i don’t think Taylor is their answer. Likely need to replace Trey smith as he’s hitting FA.

It's a shame.  He played great.  He also has been very injury prone as a pro so I don't really think you can count on much there.  Just have to let him heal and hope for the best but make other plans

Agreed - we saw first hand how McDuffie is a bit less special on the outside.  No need to mess with what's working...

Boo hoo what? He worded that poorly one year removed is what I’m saying

Just got back from New Orleans late last night.  What an amazing experience.  My 18 year old son and I drove from Central Florida - about 10-11 hours each way and worth every minute.

My first time in New Orleans and what a town!  Amazing culture - the town welcomed us with open arms.  The game itself was a surreal experience - my 2nd Super Bowl (I went back in 2004 in Jacksonville).  That said, this time around from A-Z was a much better experience - obviously because we won but having my son by my side the entire trip - all the way to the awards ceremony was priceless.

The problem is that Williams will cost ~2x what Becton will cost.  I'd rather keep Williams if the price was similar, but if he really gets $25m/yr we just can't afford him.  Take the 3rd round comp pick and replace him in this draft that has tons of DT talent.

In terms of overall contract maybe, but not per season. Guards get paid like 20m per season now. The market has skyrocketed. Not sure how teams view Becton though. He could be viewed as a Stoutland product that teams may not want to commit a lot of guaranteed money to. It could go either way.

I don't get the focus on Kelce.  Who gives a crap?   He's not a member of the organization in any way shape or form right now.   He's an alum.  Do we hold all the alum to this standard?  I didn't hear anything from Jeremy Maclin.  He must have been rooting for the Chiefs!   :censored:

Last year, the Eagles were bounced from the playoffs, and Jason got to be fully behind his brother's SB push and a push for a repeat.  It was probably a ton of fun for him, despite the ending for the Eagles.

But, Jason is a member of the MEDIA now, not a member of the Philadelphia Eagles.  What he says now is completely irrelevant to the team.   And, his brother plays for the opposition.  I don't care what he says, I wouldn't care if he came out and said that he was 100% pulling for the Chiefs, because frankly, he had every right to.  I'm over seeing Kelce every time I turn on the TV.  In ads, on ESPN, he's everywhere.  That's fine.   Good for him.

Frankly, who really cares?   Why do we expect that every former Eagles player has to be completely loyal to the franchise and not have other loyalties as well?   That's all I have to say about that, and frankly, I've wasted too much time as it is on this topic.  What Jason Kelce does in his life now and how he shares his thoughts... all of that is completely irrelevant to this franchise.

Jason will care. He is slowly going from all time warrior on the field to annoying guy that’s overexposed and starting to think a little too much of himself.

I saw Kellen is interested in bringing Patullo to New Orleans. He seems like the logical choice given how late it is in the hiring season. Doubt he’d take that job over Eagles since Kellen will be calling the plays. Who else is left out there?

Last parade I ended up getting down there at like 5am and regretted it because I had to take a dump and I'm a germophobe so I can't go into any of those portapotties. And I went underdressed and it was the coldest I ever was in my life, I honestly thought I might die from hypothermia. I couldn't stop shivering. No chance I'm getting down there that early again. I'm gonna get up, do my morning business, and get down there at like 8 or 9 this time. Don't care if I miss out on a great spot because of it.

Where I’m at. Honestly, like I understand where Jason‘s coming from. It’s his brother. It was always going to be bittersweet for Jason kelce in this game. If his brother wins and the Eagles, lose, he was gonna be happy for his brother, but  upset for the guys in the locker room (and org), who he played with that he considers his family (making Christmas albums every year and very close with them ). And if the Eagles won, he was gonna feel bad for his brother and be happy for the guys he considers his family in the Eagles locker room and organization. It was always gonna be bittersweet for him. It is what it is

I think the thing that’s been more ridiculous in this whole thing is that Taylor Swift fans got upset at Eagles fans for booing Taylor swift. Just saying they could’ve shown Paul Rudd or Jon Hamm on the scoreboard and the Eagles fans would’ve booed them mercifully because they were rooting for the chiefs. Maybe there was a little extra due to seeing her all the time but i still think eagles fans there would’ve boo’d in some capacity any celebrity cheering for the chiefs

I don't see Williams getting that much. 20-25 mil a year is top 5 at the position.  There are scouts that have upwards of 50 of the top 100 players as Defensive Linemen/Edge in this year's draft.    The DT position pays well for most but only the top 5 maybe 10 elite guys are going to get that type of money moving forward, imo - There's just way too much talent out there, especially coming out of college.

That said, if he ends up getting offered somewhere in the 12-17 mil average (which is still very good money) Howie will have some decisions to make. Especially since we will be giving Jalen Carter top 5 money in a year or two.

It must be nice to be Darian Kinnard.

Think of the confidence boost Hunt has going in to year 2. He's not going in to year 2 working out trying to prove himself. He's going in to year 2 as a bona fide weapon on defense with a defined role. Going in to his rookie year, the discussion was does he even dress on gameday. Now it's how do they get him on the field more? He's far from a finished product, but man what a different path that's being followed now.

And credit to the coaching. Picks like that used to be 2-3 years to even see the field.

I don't know if I really buy that report. Seems like it's more of a power play by Patullo/his agent.

I don't watch their podcast or sports tv anymore so I wouldn't know what Jason or anyone else says if it wasn't shared here for people to complain about

Do they need to upgrade the edge spot or get a rotational guy in there? Hunt has exploded on the scene these last few weeks and if he takes another leap then no needs for a 1st round pick on an edge.

I really think people are underestimating the impact Milton Williams has. He just had 2 sacks a FF and FR in the biggest game of his life. His snap counts continue to go up and he'd be going in to his 2nd year under the Fangio defense.

He has the same athletic tools that Aaron Donald had and it's finally starting to show every week. There's no guarantee that the next guy is going to come in and produce. Milton is just entering his prime.

Watch the Super Bowl again. That DL was FEASTING and he was an enormous part of it. I don't want that to go away. I want that DL game in and game out. A big part of that was Josh Sweat, but Milton Williams was unblockable. He can't get overpaid by another team if Howie doesn't let him out the door.
