Any interest in Chase Young as a rotational edge? I'm so-so on him. Of the "mid tier" edges, he and Fowler stand out the most. Otherwise, Eagles will probably need to go heavy in the draft there.

The problem with the Eagles cap is that most players under contract are already at or close to minimum in 2025 salary.

There's not much left to push forward.

We are not keeping most of these free agents. They will have to prioritize 1 or 2 and see if they or others will go a bit team friendly.

Williams is gone. DTs who flash like that get 20+

Sweat is most likely gone as well.

I could see them working something out with Baun and Bekton.

So sick of this guy, he better not show his face at the parade.  Never seen a former Eagle be more miserable at the team's success without them.

Oh just STFU already, a lot of us are so sick of you and yet you still hang around like the stench of months old garbage that was thrown out too late.

Listen to him. You can literally hear the raw emotion in the man's voice. It's the sound of someone who loves his brother just as much as he loves his former team. To say he's miserable about the eagles winning is as short-sighted as when you repeatedly said Nick Foles couldn't win a ring in place of Wentz. That dude put years of blood, sweat, and tears into the team, he's not miserable about seeing them win. I challenge anyone that actually thinks he doesn't care about his former team to go back and watch his retirement presser in its entirety. Then come back and tell me with a straight face that he's miserable about them winning a ring.

Howie doesn't trade away players very often. Certainly he has done it - Wentz, McNabb, and Ertz come immediately to mind, but there were good reasons for those trades. Mostly he trades picks, picks for picks and picks for players. I also think he concerns himself with the locker room. Trading a popular player like Goedert isn't his style.

I could be wrong, and often am.

Good points. I highly doubt they trade Goedert.

I also think the move is Williams and Baun...  Any chance we trade Jordan Davis?

I don't think so.  There was an interview with Fangio early in the season (or maybe the preseason) where he basically said that NT was the most important position.  You either have one or you don't.

But if want to resign some of our guys, such as Becton, we'll need to steal cap space from elsewhere.

He's the Eagles version of Tiki Barber.  He left a d the team immediately got better and won a championship without him and now he's bitter.  Took him days to even congratulate the Eagles.  The video shows how much more heart broken he is that Travis didn't win a 4th title over his former team than he had any joy for the Eagles winning.  He's a disgrace.

I think there is a bit of a difference when you're talking about the SB and one of your Mt Rushmore guys.  You'd expect them to be clearly behind the team.

A tricky situation for Jason in any case and I have no issue with how he's handled it.  We all know he was rooting for the Eagles while still being loyal to his brother.

One of my Mt. Rushmore guys left the franchise and went on to win a SB elsewhere.  🤷‍♂️. Folks are taking things way too seriously.

I think Sweat was playing for a contract.  I'd be very wary of expecting effort from him for 17 games after he gets paid.  He was already inconsistent.  With him I'd say thank you very much for the Super Bowl and good luck

Yeah but we kind of forced him to play for a contract by asking him to restructure his last year rather than extend last year.

I think he's more consistent than he's given credit for, he's not absolutely top of the line but he's generally good for ~ 6-8 sacks a season, and Bryce Huff is the living proof of how hard it is even for the best front offices to find guys that can do that consistently.

Huff is the issue actually, if he'd performed anywhere near expectations then you can probably let Sweat go, but letting Sweat leave the building with BG means you're betting next years pass rush on the 32nd pick hitting the ground running and Hunt making a big sophomore leap.

I’m aware. I’m saying that Jason almost breaking into tears bc Travis didn’t win his 4th is cringe.

Showing empathy for your brother is cringe? A brother who has been his best friend his whole life, was the best man at his wedding, and will return the favor when the time comes? That's cringe? Wow, alright.

Jason was showing his true, raw, honest feelings for his little brother.

He went out of his way to profess his love and respect for Philly.

This is not Wilma McNabb level venomous garbage.

Koy will never top how wrong he was on Foles but this cold take might be 2nd place.

Awesome thread. Harlan always does a great job.

Thanks for this.

I'd forgotten how Hurts gave Goedert the ball to spike instead of doing it himself.

Only a little thing, but to me, a recognition of this being all the team, not just individuals.

Slay/Gainwell - I think both get a team friendly offer and told if they want to test the market then they get a very warm handshake and a good luck.

Baun - This is the guy who you figure out.  I see a big up front bonus that spreads over 3 or 4 years with a small salary in 2025 and then incentives to drive it up.

Williams/Sweat - We can't pay them and they will leave to cash in.

Becton - This is the one I'm having a hard time figuring out.

Graham - I think he goes one more year and is given a mid round project to mentor.

Slay is under contract for 2025.

I’m actually glad that clip got the handshake between Reid and Siri. The TV cameras cut away just as they were about to meet up.

I really think people are underestimating the impact Milton Williams has. He just had 2 sacks a FF and FR in the biggest game of his life. His snap counts continue to go up and he'd be going in to his 2nd year under the Fangio defense.

He has the same athletic tools that Aaron Donald had and it's finally starting to show every week. There's no guarantee that the next guy is going to come in and produce. Milton is just entering his prime.

Watch the Super Bowl again. That DL was FEASTING and he was an enormous part of it. I don't want that to go away. I want that DL game in and game out. A big part of that was Josh Sweat, but Milton Williams was unblockable. He can't get overpaid by another team if Howie doesn't let him out the door.

Everyone realizes his ability and impact. Its a problem of opportunity cost. Is the dropoff to Ojomo that great? Use the mega deal on carter after next season.

maybe we can make some room extending Jurgens and Goedert but probably not that much

Brett Veach banged the drum for Mahomes in KC for a long time when he was at Texas Tech. He gets lots of credit for that.

Jason Kelce hand picked Cam Jurgens over a series of drafts to find the perfect replacement for himself.

He then trained and mentored him for 2 years.

That is the furthest possible analogy from Tiki Barber.

That was just awesome, wasn't it ?

And I think the defense picked it up and ran with it on Sunday.

I'm not a fan of his attitude. Eagles no doubt have the locker room that could possibly motivate him but I wouldn't want to add too many of those type guys.

Haven't seen a lot of either one, just a few cut-outs, but I agree with what I think you are suggesting: they look like projects but with high ceilings, just the kind of raw material that Stoutland can do so much with.

In a perfect world we can develop Lane’s heir while they play at RG on the cheap

I think steen is also factored into their decision if that’s the route they go. Steen was a 3rd round pick. Frankly it took seumalo til year 3 to get to being a starter. I still think steen can be a good starting guard

Becton is an awesome story. It's great to see him turn his career around here. Lane has no intentions of retiring so the mindset of Becton coming back at RG and eventual RT might be a pipedream right now. He's a mauler and you can't replace that. Steen, however, played at a pretty high level when he was forced in to action. He was the weak link in the NFCCG, but that was short preparation work.

Steen can fill in at RG. He might not be the hulking human being that Becton is, but he's no slouch at 6-6 321. Keegan can be your swing IOL and they can draft another.

Young is a wierd one because you look at his stats and they're not what you'd expect for his reputation. He's basically Josh Sweat with worse injury history, and he's just as likely to get overpaid by someone else on the basis that he always looks like he's just about to really break out as a top end edge rusher.

I think what I'm saying is, if we can't afford to keep Sweat, we likely can't afford Young.

I think he already knows he's not coming back on his current deal. He basically said so himself.
