Look how Chris Jones is lined up sideways with a guy behind to push him.  Jones got smoked three yards back into the end zone with Hurts rolling on top of him.

I'd like to have this shot as a nice poster for my man cave.

I will PM you a JPG file you can take to your local copy shop.

Looking at NFL.com mock drafts and the initial mocks for the Eagles #32 pick, it was worthy of a chuckle that two of the writers had the Eagles taking a WR with their first round pick.

Chad Reuter -- Emeka Egbuka WR Ohio State.  AND he had the Eagles trading up to #27 to do it.  Good thing it's a 1.0 -- can't see Reuter sticking to this one

Cynthia Frelund -- Shemar Stewart EDGE Texas A&M

Lance Zierlein -- James Pearce Jr. EDGE Tennessee

Eric Edholm -- Luther Burden III WR Missouri

Bucky Brooks -- Derrick Harmon DT Oregon

Daniel Jeremiah -- T.J. Sanders DT South Carolina

I haven't studied prospects much yet, but I have seen and liked both Pearce and Sanders.  I'm still predicting Jaxson Dart goes in the first round.

They just traded a 3rd for Dotson and he didn't get that many looks. The Eagles clearly like Ainias Smith. Johnny Wilson had a bigger role than most thought he would. Britain Covey is a coaches favorite too. In no world do I see them taking a WR in the 1st round. With that being said, I love both Egbuka and Burden.

Only objection I'd have is maybe putting the Broncos below last Chiefs Super Bowl winning team.  That Broncos defense was great but offense so bad.

Have we ever seen a team run it's mouth and for them to not end up looking stupid?

I guess 49ers last year would count.

In this offense, yes.

I am not sure he would be the first choice for McVay or Shanahan.

I want to believe that Lurie will remind the league that we gave up a home game this season and would prefer to have an opener with a higher likelihood of winning.

Kind of a weird post, but I'll assume he wants to run it back.

Yeah I saw Reuters mock, and it baffled me that he thinks we trade up to take a WR3.

I could see Harmon or Sanders as the pick, but ideally Tyleik Williams is there, he's got freakish speed for his size and could be an absolute wrecking ball next to Carter.

So... just to throw this out there...

IF the Eagles make the Super Bowl next year, it might be the FIRST TIME in their history that they'd be wearing WHITE jerseys for the championship, since the back to back games of 1948 and 1949.  In1960, 1980, 2004, 2017, 2022, and 2024 they wore green.   For some reason, the Eagles wore green in 2017 because the Patriots chose to wear white, as the home team... maybe they bought into the jersey color mattering for the game (16 out of last 21 winning teams wore white jerseys)... the Eagles won 2 of those!!!

Exciting Whites: coming to the Super Bowl next year, in more ways than one!

Saw this on FB... 😆

Just looking at salaries and projected salaries for the O-line. Don't see Howie paying every one of his 5 offensive lineman huge contracts at same time. It's just bad for team building and allocation of resources. Somebody has to be on a good contract and that would be Steen. Jurgens is about to get paid. Odd man out is Becton. He may command around $15M .

Mailata-$33M

Dickerson-$21M

Jurgens-Projected $15M

(Creed Humphrey makes $18M)

Lane Johnson-$20M (absolute bargain)

With the defensive line we can pay Williams the first of several large contracts coming there. But they are going to be staggered and not be a huge issue in how they roll in.

Also, with Dean not getting a huge contract at this point til he proves he's healthy, this even becomes more of a no brainer to empty the Brinks truck and spend on Baun & Williams.

If you subtract Sweat & Slay from payroll there is no one on defense with a huge contract yet. CJG's is pretty modest. Remarkable!

I see no way they keep Becton at this point.

With Nakobe Dean's injury and even if they bring back Baun, LB is a need. I'd love a guy like Danny Stutsman. I can't see Baun signing anything more than a 3-year deal so assuming they sign him, having a LB ready to roll is going to be important.

As I said in a prior post LB is going to be interesting BVS will be back as will Trotter.  Hopefully both Baun and Burks as well.

In the Draft the Oregon LB Jeffrey Bassa is one I want to know more about.

It's kind of cool to watch the progression of a RB from rookie to 3rd and 4th year (especially the great ones). In most cases, not all, they come in fresh, young, explosive, hitting the holes as you have described. A couple of years later, and especially with any continuity on the line they end up slowing things down and letting the blocks set-up and let the play develop a bit more.

Not garner, he never saw a hole he didnt hit a 1000 mph, sometimes to his detriment but the dude ave 4.6 yards/carry over his career and led the league one year with 5.2

Remember when the Eagles cut Oren Burks back in August?

I think the Eagles hold the cards here with the free agents, except for Baun. He's the top priority IMO.

The defense now with better coaching and better talent is sort of a sum that is greater than its parts, if that makes sense. On D line Carter is the star and will retire an Eagle, so they will prioritize a future contract when the time comes. They lost BG and Dean to injury and still were the #1 defense. Burks and Hunt stepped up this year. Nolan Smith became a great player.

Williams and Sweat can walk and they will be replaced. Ojomo and Hunt will get increased snaps. They will draft a D linemen.

On the O line, Becton is the 5th priority of the current line. Jurgens is another that will retire an Eagle, Mailata and Dickerson are locked long-term. Lane will do what he wants until he's ready to retire. So replacing him will be more important than securing the RG. However, I do like Becton and hope they keep him, but I trust Stoutland, Nick and Howie to make the right call. If they're comfortable with Steen and can spend money elsewhere, do it.

He had a great senior bowl and has all of the physical tools you could ask for.

I think he’s a guy who could have a slow start to his career but end up being a really good player.

Power translates to the NFL. The speed guys who win on athleticism have a lot of learning to do. Pass rush moves and counter moves. Building strength. Power plays right away.

Thats why I said Jalyx Hunt despite his rawness could still contribute as a rookie. He can at least come in and give his power rushes while he develops the rest.

And, he did.

I love Stewart because he also looks fast at his size, but he has the power to play right away.

Senior Bowl boosted his stock higher in the 1st but if we get lucky and he falls to 20 or later I can see Howie trading up for him, or whoever he things is the right DE. If Mike Green falls to that range, or the little guy from Michigan...

No, I have Carson Strong just barely ahead.

For all the people who got upset when Jalen said this.

It's actually been a long-time Stoutland quote too. There was that martial arts practicing a move 1,000 times quote, however that went. People ripped Jalen. But Stoutland said it, they put it in the ESPN short documentary about all the Stout quotes like hungry dogs run faster, keep the main thing the main thing, etc.

If I’m taking a DE in the first round, they need to project as a double digit sack type of player. You can do that with speed or power, but he’s got to be a good pass rusher.

I’m just not excited by guys like Landon Jackson or Mike Green, and I don’t think Shemar Stewart makes it to our pick.

If we make the right moves to completely drag the name of Abdul Carter through the mud... there's a chance we can get that done.

Get to work.  I'm sure there's some stuff out there to uncover... and if not, deep fakes with AI can fill in the gaps.

Mike Green supposedly has BIG off field issues aside from what is publicly known. Combine that with his lack of length and run defense, I think he could be available.

Even BVS is a question mark though. He was ST ace/FB. He didn't play a single down at LB. He's a complete unknown coming off an injury. I love the idea of having a LB/FB on the roster. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised to see him move primarily to FB. Plus, he's a RFA.

Oren Burks in the playoffs had 25 tackles, 3 TFL, 2 FF and a sack. There's a real possibility that Burks and Baun both get contract offers they never dreamt of and the Eagles are left with Trotter Jr.

LB is a huge need.
