For sure. It’s absolutely special and I’ll always remember the dismantling and domination. Not trying to take anything away from it.

It’s just with 2017, not even including the TD’s, I can see Brady dropping it. I can see Jenkins taking out Cooks.

Yeah me too…

I’ll always see Carter double fisting Mahomes in this one

I can't believe "The Philly fans upset at Jason Kelce for supporting his brother" nonsense is gaining any sort of traction.  For starters, it's likely less than 1% of real fans but I guess when a small minority makes such absurd remarks, comments etc on the internet - it gains traction as "click bait" material.

Hopefully the team knows better - and if they have any doubts about the support of their real fans, they won't by Friday afternoon.  :Eagle_smiley:

Watching Mic'd Up from this SB.   Sirianni immediately starts counting the sacks.  I am curious about the discussions going into the game.  I wonder what they said about sacking Mahomes before it started.  They might have had a number in mind on what they needed to do to win the game.

It was pointed out on social media and commented a lot in here how weak their left side of the line was. The Eagles game plan was basically exactly what I thought it  would be, minus using Carter against their LT: dominate the pass rush vs their left side and hit the deep ball against press man and blitzing.

I thought we’d have a lot of success, but even I couldn’t imagine the absolute arse kicking our DL put on them. I’m sure Nick and Vic talked about it in game planning and thought they could get a bunch to win the game.

I voted for Sweat. To me, the story of the game was the defense and Sweat had 2.5 sacks and caused Baun’s interception that helped put us up 24-0. I don’t have an issue with Hurts winning. He was really good. But the defense turned Mahomes into Davis Mills.

Calcaterra, while he still has room to improve, has shown he's at least a willing blocker. He's far from great, but it's not like he's shying away from contact.

He’s a decent move blocker, but not a very good in line blocker.

Yeah, get him with a head of steam and he’s very willing to put a hat on someone and take them out of the play, but he just doesn’t have the size and strength to block from a 3 point stance.

2017 was a better sentimental story because of them being underdogs, the drama with the Wentz injury, and with it being the first one it will always hold a special place over this one for a lot of people which I get. That season’s story epitomized what the city and fanbase were all about and it was the real life Rocky story.

I’m as pessimistic as it comes with this team (old habits die hard), but looking back there was never a shadow of a doubt that this was the best team in the league all season long and they got better and better every single week, especially the defense. I did not expect it, but I was not surprised that they absolutely dismantled Kansas City. They bullied them into oblivion and ripped their souls out in the first 20 minutes of that game. They were technically an underdog according to Vegas, but I think a lot of people knew deep down that there was a probability of them beating the crap out of KC if they brought their A game and they brought their A+ game. There wasn’t a team on the planet who was beating that team who showed up on Sunday.

It’s like choosing your favorite child, but this one takes it over 52 to me because of how they destroyed a dynasty team and a QB who will probably go down as the all time greatest. I don’t think people were able to comprehend it because Mahomes always comes out on top. He had been down 10 points in all three Super Bowl wins so he has to come back again. Nope. He’ll score here before half to make it 17-7 and then get the ball back after half to make it 17-14. Nope. They’re down 24-0? New England came back down 28-3 so Mahomes will do it. Nope, nope, and nope.  It was like a glitch in the matrix and they just kept piling it on and never let off the gas. CJGJ literally had the defense doing breathing exercises on the sideline inhaling and exhaling to make sure they stayed neutral and never got too high. Barkley was in Baun’s ear telling him not to let up and stay even-keeled when they were up big. They knew they were trying to kill Michael Myers who always comes back to life.

It was a masterclass in leadership, persistence, and a bunch of guys knowing that they’re the best in the world.

Pretty honest and straightforward.  I'm not sure how anyone could accuse him of "whining about the Eagles winning" etc.  Nothing could be further from the truth.

One weird thing about this Super Bowl. Even though it was just 3 days ago, it doesn’t feel like there are that many memorable moments.

Just off the top of my head, there’s the DeJean pick 6, Bauns INT was a beauty but I don’t think it will have lasting power, Hurts to Smith and Williams strip sacking Mahomes with Carter **** slapping him in the face. Thats really all I can think of that stood out that we all will remember in 8 or so years.

I don’t know if it’s just because the game was so uncompetitive or if it’s 2017 was the first so it felt more magical. Or both. Or if it was such a blowout I drank too much and just don’t remember.

2017 had so many "wow” plays on both sides.

Yeah, 2017 had some serious haymakers in a wildly entertaining game — Philly Special, unlikely huge plays from Corey Clement, an incredible TD catch by Alshon, a monster fourth down conversion in our own end as we trailed in the fourth quarter, Ertz’s go-ahead TD, BG’s strip sack, even a hold-your-breath Hail Mary at the end.

This was just an avalanche of good plays by a dominant defense, save for the pick 6. Offensively it was a series of methodical drives to chew clock and score points. Other than the Hurts dagger to Smith it was a fairly mundane, efficient game offensively.

Slay is likely cut, Rodgers is a free agent.

I’m a big fan of Ringo, but he didn’t beat out Rodgers in Fangio’s eyes. A lot will depend on how they view Ringo, but if we are sitting at 32 and Revel or Morrison or Amos are there, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if we take them and they end up starting.

That's why we need (and will) just let the draft come to us.

Nolan Smith and Jalyx Hunt are too good to force pick an edge.  Can you go into the season with just them?  Absolutely not.  If there is a future BPA stud sitting there at that position for our pick, would it be superfluous and foolish to draft him?  Absolutely not.

Same can be said for CB, DT, OL (depending on whom is retained).

I had no idea those people are the ones who vote. I was expecting completely different names

I think it’s randomly selected media members in the press box. So makes sense there are Philly best writers in there.

Fitz wasn't even close to a name I thought would be voting

The media tour Hurts has been on is brutal. Guy looks like he needs a nap. I couldn’t imagine winning Super Bowl MVP in New Orleans of all cities, being up late at the after party, and then having to go to Disney World the next day and then New York. I probably would have thrown an interception in garbage time just to make sure I didn’t get MVP and they gave it to Sweat instead.

So this weekend we discovered that Troy Aikman is really Dan Dierdorf 🤣

We were watching old classic Eagles games like the Bounty Bowl and Fog Bowl while waiting for the game to start when my buddy asks how can Aikman be calling this game lol.  Really, Troy's voice and cadence sound exactly like Dierdorf.  Idk if it was intentional on Troys part but the resemblance is ridiculous.  Check it out!

Listened to Chris long talk about the cost. Said it isn’t a white guy. So I’m guessing it’s BG or mailata

The SB was the alignment of two seemingly simple but surprisingly challenging to achieve things.

A dominant 4 man rush is a problem.  You can circumvent that problem with short drops and rapid release, tight, high velocity throws on underneath routes that undercut the coverage.  That actually has been the Chief’s style this year.  So shouldn’t really be much of a struggle there.

But the Fangio started to press and tighten the coverage on those routes.

OK, no big deal.  That happens too.  Torch them over the top with your speed WRs and Mahomes big arm to soften the coverage.  One of the most underrated plays in the SB was in the first half when Mahomes reared back and got ready to uncork a 50+ yard pass.  And then he double clutched and never threw it.  There was absolutely nothing there.

If you combine a dominant 4 man rush with the DC pressing the coverage…and the secondary playing at such a high level that they still aren’t vulnerable over the top…

It’s simply a mathematical inequality.  The game is wrecked.  Those are all simple things, but to align that kind of rush with that scheme with that sticky coverage…and to do it in the SB.  Unbelievable.

I think Baun is like Becton, realizes he was given a chance here and won't want to leave. Howie will pay them both well, and they will remain on a SB winning team with chance to repeat. Howie can also structure with bonuses or whatever cap magic he does. Lots of players take deals here like Smitty did, yet could get more elsewhere.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Howie starts using annuities as the incentives/bonuses.  I was talking to a friend recently who showed me his annuity statement.  For an original purchase price of $75,000, the annuity now has a market value of over $1 million.  If a player understands the value of a future stream of income that an annuity provides it could be a win win.
