Ahh okay I hadn’t seen that but to be fair it’s hard to follow on the tv as they are bouncing from place to place.

Fangio’s and JJ’s defenses are the antithesis of each other.  Fangio’s builds on a really simple base while JJ’s almost didn’t have a base … it was all changeable.  Spags is a JJ disciple

Yet, so similar in a lot of respects.  Beefy athletes inside, speed balls outside.  A Swiss Army knife LB (Baun/Trotter).  A chess piece (Dejean/Dawk).

Trotter wasn’t a Swiss Army knife — that man was a freaking steam roller. Even on passing downs he would just A gap blitz while Baun is one of the best coverage LBs I’ve ever seen in an eagles uniform.

For me, its less about their scheme and more about their personality.   Neither one was/is one to mince their words.   Plain spoken football lifers.  Not an ounce of pretense in either one.

This is my contribution to the celebration. IDK why this guy isn’t at home watching the parade, slacker I guess 😂. I made a run to Costco for Valentines stuff for the wife, steak and crab, good Cabernet, flowers, etc. This guy gets in front of me on the hwy as I’m coming home.

Perhaps dominant LB is a better word.  Trotter pre knee issues was an absolute beast though.
