So...12 Starters and 7 Pro Bowlers and 1 definite All-Pro with potentially 4 other future All-Pros in Jurgens, Dickerson, Mitchell and DeJean?  Is that even possible?

This is all part of the interview process.  Even though it won't be Moore's authority to deal with contracts or fix cap problems, he needs to have alignment from the GM and ownership on his vision to get the Saints back to a contender.  He should lay out his plan for what the roster needs to look like and how much time it will take to get a full rebuild underway.

Gotta imagine the saints organization knows it’s going to be at least a 2 year rebuild with the picks they dealt away over the past couple years and the hole they dug cap wise. If they don’t i wouldn’t remotely touch that job. Cause if they don’t get it then he’s going to likely be fired if he doesn’t just completely turn it around fast. I’d say in the NFL normally you can do that but their cap situation is so bad and they traded away pics over the last couple years that they really need just two years of just leveling everything and rebuilding it.

Technically Steen isn't a starter, and might be a stretch to list Davis as a starter too since we only really see him together with Carter, and Williams on obvious running downs in base. Still incredible though.

True. However since he has taken over that organization they are 62-144. Worst over that period of time. IMO the baalke situation should’ve been handled way before doing interviews and what he said on tv with baalke right there. Kind of think his hirings and heir failings fall on he doesn’t know how to run the organization.

Yup, for sure.  If it's me I put it on a whiteboard for them.  Group their talent level in 3 categories -- under 25 years old, 25-29, and over 30.  Sometimes just seeing it visually in one place can help.  The Saints have way too much of their core in the 29-35 ages.

That said, I don't think they need to force a QB.  Derek Carr is fine for another 1-2 years for where the Saints are.  Their draft capital this April is pretty good; from the Draftek website it shows them with:

1st (9)

2nd (40)

3rd -- (71, 93)

4th -- (111, 130)

6th -- (207)

7th -- (254)

That's 8 picks in the draft, including 4 picks in the top 100.  They're not winning a Super Bowl anyway, so let Carr keep them afloat for a couple of years (he's a mid-tier QB, not terrible).  I would consider trading Alvin Kamara during the summer for what they can get; they're not going to be contenders until he's too old.

I've been enjoying their collapse

Tbh I’d just try to deal Carr for whatever draft picks i can get. I don’t know how his contract is structured though so not sure if they can or how they can maneuver it. Imo i’d rather just bottom out for two years. If that means starting Spencer rattler for a year, I do it. Because im not winning anything as roster constructed and cap situation so id rather be really bad then trying to win a bad division with a team that’s not really a playoff contender. And if I get that top pick, I can always draft the quarterback that’s there in 2026 (arch manning potential) or I can trade it for a plethora of picks, which should help me in my rebuild.

It's tough to leave a team with a top 5 QB for a team with no QBs.

How to get fired in 3-4 years

I saw Danial Jeremiah top 50 players he had Colston Loveland as his #7 overall prospect.  Any interest if he falls to 32?

Yeah I'm probably as far as you can get from being a Howie Roseman fanboy, but he's been drafting extremely well in recent years.

It’s really hard not to be a Howie fanboy at the present moment.  It’s not just the draft picks, his only real whiff has been Huff… and who knows, maybe that too will turn around at some point.

Bringing CJGJ back and signing Baun were also great moves (even if the latter had more to do with Vic’s voodoo magic than Howie skill).  I think there’s also something to be said for extending Smith and Brown prior to the season and keeping them happy prior to a run-heavy year.  I’m not sure they realized it would be this run heavy, but the Saquon Barkley signing made you know that they were going to take that part of the game a little bit more seriously.

Pickett too, but maybe a bit nit-picky on my part. I'll give him a pass on Dotson because that's less a case of talent and more a decision of utilization.

Get someone that's a good playcaller but failed as a HC so there's no desire to do that again

I imagine Nussmeier is gone as well

I want some continuity they have a damn new OC every Fing year. Steichen will probably be back here as OC in 2026.

Yep. It’s nice that we have every indication now that we’re losing our OC. We just need to convince the top guys to wait an extra week-plus. This is clearly the best OC opening in the league.

I could go either way on this.  Yes, they lost the game against Washington when he came in in relief.  But the helped them blow out the Cowboys.  And they were in position to win the game against Washington.  That's basically all you can ask of your backup QB.

He never gets past Harbaugh.

It really is unreal that he's going to doom his head coaching career at that train wreck of an organization. Will no one learn.
