For a coach on the hot seat, which Sirianni clearly was at the start of the year, I think having a backup with starts on his resume was welcomed.  But, you very well may have been 100% right.

I just really, really hope we don't have to see Pickett come in against the Chiefs. Would be hard to stomach seeing him do poorly while wondering what could have been had McKee been active as the two instead.

The OL crop looks a bit meh.

The Day 3 O-Linemen have several who are too raw to rank higher, but have the size and athleticism to be interesting projects for Stoutland University.

Doubt it. Nussmeier is the only guy he brought. I don't see why anyone else would leave unless he promotes some defensive guy to be his DC.

I really hope he doesn’t take Parker with him. Brandon Staley hired him in LA. Maybe he brings him aboard as DC?

He’s interviewed for a bunch of jobs and hasn’t gotten them. He’s been let go as an OC twice. Can you really blame him for taking a HC job, even a bad one?

It's not about blame for me, it would just be nice to see someone bet on themselves. We saw Joe Brady turn down a job, you could say the same thing about him. He's interviewed for several jobs going back multiple years. He bet on himself. Saw it with Ben Johnson the last couple years. Would be nice for the Eagles to have an OC for once who is just like "I love it where I am and I'm waiting for a better opportunity."

Christian Parker? He's a Fangio guy. Only had a real position in Denver and here. He's the one I'm worried about losing most though.

Anthony Belton is a guy I could see is targeting. He needs a ton of work but the tools are there.

I saw Danial Jeremiah top 50 players he had Colston Loveland as his #7 overall prospect.  Any interest if he falls to 32?

Yes

Pickett too, but maybe a bit nit-picky on my part. I'll give him a pass on Dotson because that's less a case of talent and more a decision of utilization.

Pickett cost two 7th round picks.  Hard to call him a whiff.

Especially considering our window isn't closing

And a 3rd/4th round pick swap

Brady is a good comp as he was scapegoated in Carolina, but Johnson was not different. He could pick whatever job he wanted and he knew it.

Taking continuity out of it, I think losing Moore is much less damaging than losing Steichen was in 2022. And I actually thought the offense had wasted potential for a lot of the year. But 5 different coordinators for Hurts is just ridiculous. Which is why is Steichen is fired after 2025 I think he'll be back here. That would be another year with a different coordinator, but it's someone Hurts loved and worked well here.

Sorry, I meant Staley hired Moore in LA so maybe Moore would hire him as DC.

Parker was a separate thought entirely.

Plus the swap of picks. We discussed it at the time but the total net in draft capital was what roughly amounted to a late 4th rd pick according to the pts charts. And to remind you of the context, I conceded it was nit-picky on my part when I brought it up a few posts ago.

I hear that part too, which is why I can go either way.   But, back in March when they made the deal, did they feel as comfortable with McKee as they likely do now?  Hindsight seems to be in use here a little bit.  We've all seen rookie QBs look decent in garbage time in the PS, only to fizzle out quick later.  I think hedging the bet with Pickett made sense, especially with his cheap contract, and the extra year of control to trade him this offseason if they wish and can easily recoup what they spent to acquire him.  It was only a flip of picks from 3rd to 4th... plus two 7th round lottery tickets.  That's pretty low price.   They could likely flip Pickett now for at least a 3rd round pick straight up.

And they got the 3rd back on Draft day, so the net for Pickett was the two 7th Round picks

My biggest worry would be losing Hurtt.

This hurts twice.

1) Kellen is NOT focusing on the game.
2) He may take one of our guys as DC, like Gannon did.

I'm not worried about our defensive coaching getting raided. He's only allowed to steal ONE guy if they make him DC. We can block anyone else.

The 3rd/4th round pick swap was reversed on Day 3 of the Draft.

Got ya. I saw Staley speculated to the Jags but it doesn't seem like it's based on anything concrete

Understood on both levels. I tend not to focus on individual events, but rather on the continuum, but I realize that is not for everyone

That's a stretch. It's two separate transactions, the cost for Pickett stays the same. They also then traded that pick away for Dotson too, so where do we draw the line?

Moore and Nuss as his OC, lock in his son at QB for the saints in the next draft.
