A Huff-20251st-2026 2nd does a lot...

Huff IS a Schwartz type of player too.

Agree.  Barkley, the O-line and defense are better than they were 2 years ago.

Eagles better be up by at least 2 possessions in the last 2 minutes.  A 7 point lead or less won't cut it.  KC will find a way to tie or win it.  They always do.

Agreed with both statements. I don't even want the Chiefs having the ball the last 2 mins. Dream scenario is we're up by 10 and run the clock out

Man, the Browns can't afford the cap hit since they restructured him so many times ($80mm dead cap pre June 1), but the insane move would be for a team with tons of cap space to basically offer a 3rd for Garrett and Watson. Get Cleveland out of the last 2 years of that deal.

Browns can't afford it though.

The 3 stages of a Howie acquisition:

I wonder how much Jordan Davis would interest Cleveland. Since its going to be awkward trying to settle on a price for his extension...

This isn't Madden. Plus Garrett will eat up a ton of cap. Draft a DE in the 1st rd. Build the defense through the draft like they have been. This defense is young and already looking really good. I'm sure Huff gets traded anyways

Garrett costs very, very, very little to the acquiring team as his contract was paid in bonuses. You do this trade though and you let Milton Williams walk which I'm fine with.

Given the events of yesterday…Huff and a 6th should get it done.

This one is tough. Hard to gage his worth. I think both sides get something done and it's team friendly

You don't think he's going to want a new contract with guarantees?

Milton Williams has been money for this team down the stretch and in the playoffs

He will but i also trust Howie to get him a contract that works for him and us. Frankly him and Jalen Carter would be absolutely crazy on the same DLine.

Just don't see it. Draft capital to get him would be more than a 1st and 2nd rd pick

Tbh i think the draft capital is more of the issue than the new contract would be.

Howie is not opposed to picking up the fifth year option and letting him play everything out, a la Derek Barnett.

Maybe he turns into something worth the price by then, or maybe the price goes down

For sure. You also need cheaper and younger players on defense since a good chunk of money is on the offensive side. Hopefully Williams and Baun are back. I think the Eagles lose Sweat and move Huff. Now you're down 2 DE's. Should be a priority in the first round

Won't work because we don't have Lebron on our team.

Browns did the reverse with Brock Osweiler a few years back, so it isn't crazy to think they would be open to a salary dump trade.

I'm happy with yesterday :-)

Yeah. It can go either way. Im sure that 5th year option is attractive for us. But it may still come to that crossroads.

On the other hand, having that option for his next team is also going to be attractive. Theyll have 2 years of control, which affords them time to decide if theyre going to be able to mold him in to what they want him to be before having to decide on the extension.

I would think hes an attractive trade piece.

I also think if theyre going to be paying Carter, and Milton Williams this year, theyre probably best to get the snaps hes giving them at a rookie contract price rather than extending.

The game is more athletic than it was 25 years ago, I wonder if that correlates to more injuries. Hmmm

People are mad that the NBA and it's players because they got better skill wise and and better athletically. Poor Bill Cartwrights of the world are unemployed in the NBA, they had nothing to the game.

Oh, I'm not mad.  I'm apathetic, there's a world of difference.   And don't give me more injuries.  The older players had injuries too, they just played through them.  They didn't have 'load management' games.   The hilarious part is that THIS is your response when you were proven wrong in terms of how 'the best players are playing'.   They aren't.  Nearly all of them are playing fewer than 75 games a season.  They are soft.   The NFL has gotten soft too, its not exclusive to the NBA.  But, the NBA takes the cake with it.   They literally have games where they plan to have healthy scratches... and that screws the fans.  The fans that pay to go see them play, the fans that pay the advertising costs by watching on TV that makes the TV contract work.  The fans are left with a weaker overall product.   You can talk about the overall increase in athleticism... and I'll point to the decrease in watchability as it becomes a 3 point shooting contest.  Dribble dribble dribble... shot from 25 feet... long rebound.  Dribble dribble dribble.... shot from 25 feet... good basket.   The off the ball movement has diminished to nearly zero, the ball doesn't move as fast as it used to and shots from 12 feet are virtually eliminated from the game.

They have alienated a large part of the older fanbase.  We now have mega teams that organize themself ("The Decision" standing as the greatest example of this...). AND the latest mega trade in the NBA just shows that competitive balance is no longer a goal of the league.

But hey, you don't have to convince me to watch the NBA.  That's not your job, that's their job.  And they have done a terrible job in recent years.   They are making more money than ever, but the viewership of the finals is way way down.    I think the bubble will burst soon.   Adding a 4 point shot will likely accelerate that.
