imo Sixers are in an even worse spot if they didn’t have basketball gods watching out for them when muscala hit that shot so they could have the Maxey draft pick. If muscala doesn’t hit that shot all the assets that Hinkie acquired led to essentially just Embiid. That’d have been a shitload of assets pissed away for nothing good in return

That's the most aggravating part.   And they moved on from Hinkie just as his plan had a chance to turn... but the front office/owner caved and they brought in nepotism and incompetence.

Dad's 81, not sure how many more chances I'll get to do this. I didn't take him in 2023 (I did take him to the NFCCG) and always regretted it.

Mine is around that age as well, so I get it. One of the reasons I've hated Hurts so much is I wanted one more opportunity to be with mine that I didn't get in 18 and thought he'd never win. Sunday is going to cancel out some regrets for both of us. Damn it's cool you are going to be there with him.

It would suck if he went to Commies

Unfortunately I think that’s exactly where he ends up. Oh well, that’s a topic for the offseason.

That display at the end of the game with the Redskins jumping over the pile on purpose early put it back on the radar.  That was a bit of a black eye for the league, IMO.   They don't like looking foolish.   I don't know how to ban it, but I think they will take a long hard look at it.

The argument I have seen for enforcing the ban is that a player or players should not be allowed to push the ball carrier further. But IMO the problem with that argument is that there are a lot of plays especially critical first down plays where OL are pushing ball carrier further for first down or more yardage.

Yup. What’s irritating on top of all that, they pissed away the cap space Hinkie provides on bad contracts. Like Sixers hit on Embiid especially considering who went 1 and 2. He was always going to have issues staying healthy but he somehow managed to give  you like 3-4 mvp type years. Sixers pissing away picks, bad hires, poor ownership and spending cap space on Tobias, Horford and Simmons basically screwed them. The first time they had significant cap space again was last offseason since Tobias and Horford signings when unfortunately the only star FA was declining PG and that was a small sliver of hope we’d win a title before Embiid and PG completely tailed off.

like if we made a list of the top 10 reasons why the Sixers just failed to get a title from when they started the process til now i don’t have Embiid in the top 5. He is likely somewhere 7-10 range considering all the dysfunction and F ups the sixers have had.

Except that's been a fundamental part of football since it was converted from rugby.

Well... the Doug hate didn't stop for very long.   Don't expect different with this iteration.  NFL (Not For Long), and around these parts, its a lot of 'what have you done for me lately'.

Well, you have a point, but at least it would be more bearable knowing that such "morons" won a SB for us.

There have been some great defenses so I'm surprised it hasn't happened. Hope he gets it

Just do it gently. Don't want a 15 yarder. Just pick him up in the air to get the whistle ala Carter and give him a nice loving hug.

He’s gonna get all the blame for it being a disaster. He should definitely get a lot. but i think Mavs ownership has a huge hand in that trade. Honestly one of the dumbest trades ive seen in a while

If Cuban was still the owner, there is no way that Luka is traded.

It's why I've always blamed Lurie for letting Chip cut Djax and trade Lesean McCoy.  If Lurie didn't want it to happen he could have told Chip no.

If I get this right, you are suggesting we burn another draft piece for another NT rather than keep the one we have.

The opportunity cost as I see it, assuming Fangio even wants a nose tackle, is:

Davis making $17M (or whatever)

vs

Day 3 draft pick

If Fangio only plans to use Davis for 12-15 snaps per game, as he has been, then I can’t justify that kind of money for Davis.

Personally, I like Jordan Davis and think he still has untapped potential. But the reality seems to be that Fangio doesn’t value him as much as he does a penetrator like Williams.

We certainly can’t keep Williams, Davis AND Carter all on big 2nd contracts. So the easiest place to cut money is Davis since he plays the least.

Again, not what I would do if I was the coach, but what I would do as the GM given coach Fangio’s preferences.

Tbh the eagles promoting from within for OC has not worked out well as of late. groh and Johnson both got promoted and both didn’t do well. So if they do hopefully the third time is the charm

I've hung in with the NFL over the years, but this would be the straw that broke the camel's back for me. Giving an international teams 9 home games(by then there will be 18 games) and having teams fly that far and deal with the jetlag that many times per season is a joke. And stealing our beloved Super Bowl from American fans.

If/when this happens, my love of the NFL will never be the same. Corporate greed has killed my love of sports over the years. I don't even watch regular seasons in the other 3 sports anymore.

Patullo won't be the OC, the Eagles have learned their lesson. And if they liked him they'd have hired him in 2024.

He most likely of the 'big 4' free agents to go. Don't think the Eagles are in love with him as a player and can upgrade from him probably in the offseason without spending much to do it. Could bring Reddick back for pennies on the dollar or pursue Garrett if they're so inclined. Also will assuredly draft an edge in round 1 if they keep their pick.

How'd 1960 work for your streak, Pack?

We beat the best then. We beat the best in 2017 and we will beat the best this time too. We love streaks. We break them alla time.

What "streak"?

The Packers were not "the best" in 1960. The Packers won World Championships in the 60s in 1961, 1962, 1965, 1966, 1967.

Also the only team to win 3 World Championships in a row twice.

What "streaks" have the Eagles broken "alla time."?

I am sure the Chiefs thank you for the guarantee of the Eagles winning the Super Bowl. We will see how karma works for ya.

Did they say they were jumping on purpose?  I just thought Luvu was trying to time it perfectly and failed miserably.

I don't know how they can ban it when the other 31 teams can do the exact same thing but yet don't or can't execute it like the Eagles.

Maybe they modify it so the QB can't be pushed from behind or something like that.

Who the hell didn't see this coming?
