Yep. Some other keys that will decide the game…

* Tackling. Mahomes’ depth of target is really low. The Chiefs rely on YAC. We’re the jest team in the league at defending short passes. Mahomes will probably pepper the flats. We can’t let those four yard catches turn into 7-8 yard gains.

* Spags went single high in the Super Bowl and Hurts torched him. He went two high last year and we pounded them on the ground. I suspect we’re going to see single high. Will Hurts pull the trigger on those one on ones? When he does, do they connect?

* Rush integrity. Mahomes kills teams in the playoffs with scrambling, particularly up the middle. That said, I want Nolan Smith taking a few chances, especially when lined up against Jawaan Taylor. He can make a game-changing play with his speed on a traditional rush and can track down Mahomes on those scrambles. I have a feeling he causes a fumble Sunday

Internet trolls die in darkness.  They thrive in the light.

Weird how the story of a Commanders fan whining about getting heckled gets more talk than a story of Eagles fans donating and raising money for a charity foundation associated with the guy who took over the Hard Rock. $8,500 before the game and now almost at $30k.

Nothing weird or surprising.  One fits the narrative, one flies directly in the face of it.  So, one gains traction and the other remains obscure.

I was as big of a fan of DeJean as most in here, and would have been happy predraft with using our 1 on him because I was really confident he’d be a good player somewhere in the defensive backfield. Once Mitchell fell, I would have been pretty pissed if we passed on him.

Glad we somehow got both.

Yea I wish there was a sarcasm font. "Weird" was doing a lot of heavy lifting there.

What makes it difficult is his timing. Seems to dial up the right blitz at the right time more than not. Before the snap will be really important for Jalen and Cam etc

Jalen has checked into some really nice places on some of the Barkley bangers so hopefully he keeps that up and has a good idea of what’s coming.

The danger for the Chiefs on that is that if they get caught in a bad blitz... Saquon is more likely to take it to the house than if they just play 6 or 7 in the box and force the Eagles to do it in 5 yard chunks.

Consider this... just to add another feather in the cap of how crazy this season has been for Saquon Barkley.

Barkley has the most 60+ yard TD runs in a post-season career.   They ALL came this year.

Barkley's SEVEN 60+ yard TD runs in a single season (including Playoffs) is the most in NFL history.  The closest player to him has FOUR!   😱.  What he is doing this year behind this OL is BEYOND unprecedented.  The fact that he is unlikely to win the MVP award because he's not a QB is just nuts.  240 yards... from 3000 total yards in a single season.   It's never happened before. He's just 30 yards from that record.

The Eagles need to win this game... Barkley and the OL needs to continue what they've been doing... and if they do, Barkley should be Super Bowl MVP, league MVP (I know, voting is already done), and OPOY.  Send his uniform to Canton from the Super Bowl after reaching 3k.    SB3K.   I like it.

To add to this... Saquon CHOSE not to add an 8th to this list and a 4th long TD in the playoffs, when he slid against the Packers went it was over and he had a clear field in front of him.

This was a 76 yard TD run, if he wanted it.   Instead, he punched the ticket to the Divisional Round, and waved bye bye to the Green Bay Pretenders.  And that slide cost him about 60 yards.  He would have already gotten the record for regular and post-season yards and would need only 180 to break 3k.   This stuff will make breaking 3k all the more remarkable.   He literally left meat on the bone all season with this type of selfless play.  Just remarkable.

This Super Bowl is wild man.   Look at Carson back in the big game.

I'm home sick today... so of course I'm rewatching the NFC CG.

Just got the sack for the Commanders that set up the missed FG by Elliott.   3rd and 6 at the edge of the red zone.   THAT is the danger zone for this offense against the Chiefs and Spags' exotic blitzes.   But, I think the answer to that is that 3rd and 6 in those situations should be running downs in those spots on the field.  Why?  Guaranteed to stay in FG range, and you still have the chance to get a TD on that play.  The real explosive plays come from this team's running game more than the passing game.  And, if you can get it to 4th and 2 or less, going for it on 4th down becomes much more realistic than a 4th and 6 if the pass is incomplete.

Lots of options for the Eagles to make magic against the blitzes by Spags, and make them pay for being aggressive.

if you think Hurts holds the balls too long… wheeeeew boy are you in for a treat

Huh? Hurts always held it longer. Not sure where that memory came from

Another thing that's really not being talked about in this matchup, IMO, is the difference in the physicality of these teams.   The Eagles are the most physical team in the NFL this year.   The offense AND the defense bully their opponents.  I don't know that the Chiefs have faced anything like this during the season.  That will be interesting.   There's a reason the Eagles have forced so many fumbles this year... and it has to do with the fact that they are always hitting hard, always gang tackling and always punching at the ball.   Eagles D needs to carry that over to the SB.  And the Eagles OL needs to really set the tone for the whole thing.  Reestablish the LOS 2-3 yards downfield, and just let Barkley find the creases.  They will be there.

A healthy Jurgens and Dickerson is a wonderful thing going into this game.  And, I'd really like to see the Eagles come out in a jumbo formation with Steen getting into the game early... just in case he's called upon later to sub in for either one if they have a flare up.  It serves two purposes... physicality and preparing Steen JIC.

Sure.   And the non-contact to Mahomes' head against the Texans was a 15 yarder.   It just makes sense.

Jennifer Lawrence won an award. The "movie" won nothing. As I said, lame movie.

Again, the Chiefs thank you for the guarantee. Karma

Your understanding and knowledge of Karma is underwhelming.   You are banging the  superstition drum.

Packer movie staring regular Joe: man saves all his life to buy 1 share of Packer stock.  His chance comes when the Packers offer a limited # of shares and he has to beg 30 friends for $10 bucks each to attain his life long dream.  It's a tragedy as none of his friends like him and don't give him the money.  Final scene: Regular Joe walking away from the Packers stadium, wearing an old, grimy, Packer hoodie, hands in pockets, head down, mournfully looking over his shoulder as all the people he hoped to mooch off of celebrate owing their 1 share of a useless stock.

Chiefs are very physical too. This isn't the Chiefs of 5-6 years ago.

I haven’t watched much of them this year…but having an elite DT does wonders for a team.  Going from Cox to Carter is a blessing for us, it completely changes the way the defense can play in today’s NFL where QBs seem to be less and less comfortable in the pocket.  The 69, Jurgens, Behkton combo inside vs Jones is going to be intriguing to watch.

Went back and tortured myself by watching most of our offensive snaps from the loss two years ago. Man, we really made some huge plays when we needed them the most. Everybody's gonna focus on the fumble, but Hurts played one of the best games of his career that day. If he somehow plays like that again, this game won't even be close.

The closer we get to the game, the more confident I feel. If Hurts plays well, I think we win by 10+

Timing, precision, and good arm strength…he had a day of days.  If we get that again, yup…won’t be close.  If we get NFCCG Hurts, I’ll be more than happy too.
