Their job was to give movies a thumbs up or down.  So they didn't stop at a lack of excitement.  They gave their opinion about a movie.  But they couldn't stop a movie release nor could they stop people from going to see it, so it's not a verdict, just opinions.

Equally, fans have every right to an opinion about a move made by their team.  That is what this space is for.  We share our opinions about it, and my particular opinion was that I wouldn't complain about it, but that I don't have excitement for it.  And I don't have to be excited about it.  At the same time declaring a lack of excitement about something isn't condemnation either.

Many days I am not excited to go to work, and yet I get up and go even on those days.  No condemnation, just an emotion, or lack there of.

Others have been much more negative about this move, and they too have that same right to have an emotion and opinion about it.  This isn't a court of law, this is a space to share opinions and emotions,  as well as to share breakdowns and other things.  It's what we've done for decades here.

Many folks were upset when the Eagles drafted Reagor over Jefferson, and shared that opinion.  It wasn't a verdict, but an opinion... turned out those of us with that opinion in the very moment were right and the Eagles were wrong.  Other times fans have had negative opinions about a draft pick, and were wrong, such as the moment Hurts was selected in the 2nd round of the 2020 draft.  Either way its not a verdict, nor is it wrong for the fans to have opinions.  If it is, we should just go ahead and shut this place down.

It is not wrong to have an opinion.  Nor is it wrong to jump to conclusions.  It is what it is.  Our collective opinions are often called Negadelphian.  I simply expressed my opinion that many posters were rushing to judgment.  It is also my opinion that it is often just as much fun to sit back and enjoy the ride … wherever that ride takes you.

It is also my opinion that a schoolteacher should know when a long winded argument is simply a house of semantics built on a foundation of sand.

With Nuss official, I think Eagles will pick a QB coach soon.

I'm pretty sure Howie is going to trade the next 15 years of 6th and 7th round picks and Pickett for Garrett and Cash Considerations

Jokes aside, I'm continuing my confidence after this season, leading up to the playoffs and SB, and cemented after the domination. Because this team is different that past rosters. Howie has finally been drafting well on defense the last few years and there is a young core. I was impressed seeing the depth step up for injury and young guys contributing in the Super Bowl.

And if they draft D line to replace guys that leave, they mix in with the current group in the rotation and we should be good there. IMO re-signing Baun is the #1 must.

Yes I’m still going thru the Chiefs lead up thread and I couldn’t not share this gem with y’all.

I have no problem with an opposing fan feeling confident, but confidence is one thing and objectivity is another.

I definitely felt that the Chiefs had a chance to win that game, and a good one.  But I could not picture a scenario in which they destroyed us.  It was a lot easier for me to picture the scenario where the Eagles kicked their ass like they did.

There’s no going back to 2022, but who here really thinks that the Eagles lose that Super Bowl if it was played on turf?  I didn’t really complain all that much about the field conditions afterwards (well, not compared to many others).  It sort of felt like blaming the refs, and I don’t usually like doing that either. But after seeing this game, and the way this defense plays on turf, it does make me wonder ‘what if’?

Schefter: Eagles Pro-Bowl center Cam Jurgens underwent a back procedure Tuesday in Los Angeles with Dr. Robert Watkins to alleviate nerve pain, per sources. Doctors believe a full recovery is expected by July, in time for training camp. Jurgens is headed into the final season of his rookie contract.

Going into the game one guy literally said we were the worst team they faced in the playoffs

They also felt like they went through a gauntlet of strong AFC teams and the NFC was weak. They forgot we dominated the Bengals, Ravens, Steelers, and other NFC playoff teams. They thought beating the Bills in the AFCCG was the real Super Bowl, and that this would be easy.

It was great seeing their realization in the game that in fact, the Bills and other teams didn't have the D line the Eagles did, that the Eagles defense is actually great, that Hurts is clutch, etc. And being mad that Reid and Spags got outcoached.

It was nerve pain in his back? Wow. Kudos to playing because that's no joke

I also loved them later saying the Eagles now have the target on their back, good luck. yeah, we won the SB we're happy, thanks!

A couple guys said now if they're going to make history with a 3peat, they have to start over at 1 next year.

Him and Dickerson played through some tough injuries, warriors. :flex:

It's why extremeskins was my guilty pleasure for YEARS.  Damn shame they shut it down, there were some real bangers to go back read through.

I did save one of my favorite "articles" by Art though.  I present to you "Cap Hell Rocks!"

Not only did they post this on their forum, but on their main site as well

Wow.  That's a lot of hubris from a group where their team was irrelevant already for nearly a decade.  Between 1992 and 2000, they had ONE season with 10 wins... but 4 seasons with 6 or fewer wins.  They were 54-89-1 during that span.   Yeah... they were better than everyone.

They complained about the refs a LOT. At first saying now people can stop saying the refs favor the Chiefs, then saying they overcorrected.

One favorite was the guy who said maybe the game is rigged...to set up Mahomes for a big comeback to make the game more entertaining and drive ratings.

In 2022 we signed LB K. White and he fit well in or defense. In 2023 we signed Morrow and Cunningham and they didn't pan out. Last year we signed Baun and D. White. One huge hit, one huge miss.

Sometimes things work. Sometimes they don't. When the team has an opening, it needs to be filled. Where the person comes from is irrelevant.

I get it. I just think that we’ve learned that the offense works a little better when Sirriani is less involved and this feels like a move where Nick will be more involved. I’d rather go with an established safe guy with the weapons and line the Eagles have. He could also be awesome though. I’m hoping for awesome.

Who was left out there?

So many QB coaches, passing game coordinators, college OCs/even some HCs would've lined up for this job. Might have to be a year early on a guy you really like, but that's a better option than promoting the guy who "helps out a bunch of places."

Beyond that, I hate making a full-time commitment to a guy because of "Who was left out there?" Don't know why teams in this situation don't slap "interim" in front of it.

What would it cost to trade for Travon Walker?  Would you be more interested in trading for him or Myles Garrett based on expected contract/picks to give up?

I wonder if that surgery changes the math or timing of a Cam extension.  You have to make sure hes healthy first, right?

My wife's uncle is a big Chiefs fan (has been forever, so not a bandwagon fan).  I'd been ribbing him for 2 weeks leading up to the super bowl, saying the refs were just gonna help Mahomes win another one like they did with the holding call against us in the last one, to which he always just laughed off.

This past Sunday night I saw him and of course started crowing about the Eagles stomping them, and he responded by saying that the NFL had to have rigged the game or paid off Mahomes because they hadn't looked that bad all year, or really ever.

He has to resign our key contributors where he can and crucially trust his draft scouting to carry on as it's been the last few years rather than be tempted by a swing for the fences trade like Garrett.

The word resign always pulls me up short when I read it.  It always has a Richard Nixon Spiro Agnew connotation for me, which is definitely not its meaning in sentences like yours.  As a result, probably out of superstition more than anything, I spell it re-sign when the meaning is the same as yours.  I laugh at myself every time I do it. 🤣

.  You invoked legalese about the way our judicial system works, planting us firmly into definition 1 in terms of your usage.  Juries have to presume innocence and it is the job of the prosecution to build a case to prove guilt beyond a shadow of a doubt.  But, that's not what this place is for, nor has it ever operated under that premise.  Your statement (posed as a question) implied that the folks who were not happy, or were criticizing this move were in some way wrong, because of how our judicial system works.   Sorry, Matt.   You are 0 for 2 on this one.  And, in my post that you quoted... I didn't even give an opinion.  I said I wouldn't complain, but that I wasn't excited... aka, I shared an emotion, or lack thereof.

I will for this game. We had the best D by a wide margin, best Oline by a wide margin, best RB, best WRs, all by a wide margin.  And we came off the NFC championship scoring 55 points.  Not destroying them would have been the oddity.  And it was plain to see.

It was plain to see, but the majority of talking heads didn’t see it.  This podcast by Mina Kimes deals with that subject very well.  She does a very good job of eating crow.

Has he been rumored to be on the block?

I stopped making predictions in the blog after the bye, and the superstition worked (you're welcome). Before kickoff I told the people I was with (dad, bro, niece, buddy and his 2 kids) that I thought we were going to blow the Chiefs out. There was no way to look at the 2 teams and conclude that Philly didn't have a massive talent advantage -- there were only a handful of Chiefs players that would start for the Eagles. Being generous, let's say 4 on offense (Mahomes, Humphrey, Trey Smith and Kelce); I'm not sure this version of Kelce starts over Goedert, and Smith vs. Becton is close. On defense...I guess some would take Chris Jones over Jalen Carter, but I wouldn't. Karlaftis over Sweat? That's pretty much it.

The national media basically spent 2 weeks saying "Mahomes and Reid will find a way." There was no logic to it. In SB 52, we were the more talented team, but Brady balled out and kept it close. Mahomes couldn't do that and it was a rout.
