Ojomo is not giving you the SAME production. Don't remember him getting 2 and a half sacks in the Superbowl with a strip sack fumble. Can t just gloss over that. Thats a winning player right there for me. Showed up BIG when it mattered. I keep saying you can pay Carter and him.  Just like you paid Fletcher, Hargrave, Sweat and Graham all at once. Really don't get that argument. Not expecting more than 2 free agent signings.  Baun and Williams are my 2. That's all!

I literally posted they had the same pressure rate all season, and Ojomo has a better pressure rate in the Super Bowl.

So not the same - Ojomo was better.

And the 2022 team wasn't paying Hurts, DeVonta, Landon, etc. All those guys were on rookie deals.

The longer BG goes without an announcement, the more I think he may come back.

One more year for BG gives us depth at DE that won't break the bank.

BG is in Kelce territory. If he wants to play, you make it happen. He was 1 year, $4mm last year. Hell, he is over $9mm of dead money in 2025 and that could be reduced if he comes back.

He is wrong🤣

They aren't gonna pay him 13m in 2026. That's what his number would be if they do.

Don't kill the messenger but not sure him having a better pressure rate in the Super Bowl makes him have a better game than Williams with his 2 sacks, forced and recovered fumble.

Was just being a little facetious with that, but the team is going to look at pressure rate over the season more than sacks, especially in one game.

Honestly, this isn't a close call. If someone is giving Williams Alim McNeil money, he is 100% gone.

We all remember Brandon Graham's huge play in the Superbowl right? I remember Milton showing up with the big play in the big game and being dominant and I think he is ascending. I'm sorry, Ojomo was not dominant in that same way. He was effective, definitely.

No one is saying McNeil money. He got 97M. Willing to go to 80-84M.

Don't you think you have to pay Ojomo next Summer if he kills it? Are they going to say its because of Carter then too? Somebody has to get paid here. Only goes up if anything. Can't keep not paying your homegrown stars. I think they can fit him in. Totally. It's a myth that they can't. I don't wanna eff with their d-line and formula right now. Very fragile thing. And McNeil got 4/97. Probably not an overpay like people think. Especially in 2/3 years. Probably be a bargain with this salary cap.

There are likely still top end DT prospects available at 32 and that's the trade off you have to make to run a successful franchise long term, you lock the elite players down and refresh the rest with draft picks. Carter is going to get $35mill a year, you can't have his sidekick on $20mill a year. It's a fact of life with a cap.

If Derrick Harmon or TJ Sanders are there at 32, you wish Milton well pick either and have an absolutely terrifying interior pass rush for the next 5 years.

W9nder how long the Browns drag out the Garrett trade.

Copy that but for me the two trophies flanking him said he was done.  Of course if he wants to, they will absolutely make it happen.  And should, frankly, as he was impactful before the injury. And we should reward the tenacity to come back and play. Big emotional boost for the team.

The one other interesting wrinkle is that Sweat is costing us $16.4mm in dead cap for 2025 to not be on the team. That could make bringing him back easier if we can structure an extension to punt that dead money another year or two. I THINK that would have to be done before his contract voids (beginning of the new league year), and he hired Rosenhaus to test the market. So highly unlikely, but it something to consider.

Kelce is $16.4mm, Sweat $16.4mm, Cox $10.1mm, BG $9mm and Becton $3.5mm. Sweat, BG and Becton could be punted with extensions.

EDIT: Baun is $1.9mm. Another reason to get him done before FA.

Didn't Huff have the 2nd or 3rd highest pressure rate for DE's before FA?  Not sure that is the end all be all stat for what teams look for

The market will speak on Sweat.  Weirder stuff has happened (CJGJ).

Williams is getting Hargrave money.  I would be FLOORED if he stays.

I would take Cox back as a rotational player.🤣

He did, but that was obviously with the Jets. We've seen Williams and Ojomo both play next to Carter and basically have the same pressure rate.

Huff seemed to struggle with Vic's defense and his run/drop assignments. If there is any hope for him, it's as an overpaid 3rd down pass rush specialist.

I think once Sweat's contract voids at the start of the new league year, the dead money crystallizes and can't be punted if we resign him. So to punt that cap hit we need to extend him now, and I just don't see Rosenhaus doing that.

Don't know about that. Mailata makes $33M and Dickerson makes $21M and offensive line all gets paid. I am paying top talent. Again, my opinion of Williams is high enough to give him $20M happily. That will be cheap in 2/3 years.

Sweat agreed to the restructure and basically bet on himself to get a payday, there's no way Rosenhaus let's the Eagles have a discount run after what they did last year, unless Sweet decides he wants to try and run it back.

Sweat is what he is, a DE who will reliably get you ~ 8 sacks a year but won't go much beyond that, it sounds easily replaceable but as Huff has proved even the best front offices can get it wrong.

I think a guy like Ojulari in free agency and a draft pick wouldn't be a million miles away, but it's a leap of faith.

100% going to test the market. And he should too. Prob going to get some good $.

Dickerson is an elite guard in his own right, Williams is a good DT who benefits from being next to one of the best in the game.

I hope Huff is the story of the year with his amazing offseason turn around because we have gotten dick in value.

And so does everyone else on the line. Nolan Smith is a great player because he plays next to Carter. So we are going to keep using this argument of not paying people because of who is next to them. So Ojomo's stats are hollow as well and we shouldn't pay him either. You are not gonna run from paying quality players.

William is gone. For almost the same price you can keep Baun and Becton, plus this is a historically deep DT class.

The offseason plan is pretty simple in my view — bring back Baun and Becton, draft 2 defensive lineman early. That’s the core of what we have to do.

Other than that, get our own players locked up and fill out the roster depth.
