Interesting.  It becomes Seumalo plus a comp pick as opposed to Becton and no comp pick.  I’ll be interested to hear what @just relax thinks about the comparison.

I am assuming that Seumalo becomes the backup Guard and Steen starts.

I highly doubt that Seumalo would come here to be a backup.

Again you are using a simplistic single variable to describe a complex multi variant situation.

Tell that to his agent when he comes up for a contract. Zero sacks is a very significant statistic here because it's absolutely nothing and it kinda stands out and can't be overlooked. And playing next to Jalen Carter which is supposed to get you sacks pronto I thought. Not to say he can't break through and get some more going forward. But he still hasn't done it yet. Insane not to sign Williams if it's for $20-$21M, which I am hopeful it doesn't go past that number. There will be several bidders waiting on him for such an important position that many teams can use. I have seen rumors about Jordan Davis getting traded. I am thinking Fangio will direct all of this in what's coming. From his actions, he gave Williams more snaps as the year went along and Davis less snaps. He may see Davis as a luxury going forward. And that to me means Williams stays, as you save money that way and get a solid pick to restock.

Seumalo shouldn't be counted towards the comp pick formula since he would be a cut.

That would be a ton of money invested in the o-line and that's not even including a Cam extension. Can't see all that money spent on the o-line being feasible.

I’m not sure Seumalo would definitely be a back up? Though I think Steen would have a head start on winning the job.

Don't think Koonce will be all that cheap unfortunately but like the player quite a bit.

I'm not so sure. He had one great season in '23 and missed all of last year. He's still young and obviously the potential is still there, but I can't imagine he'll be that pricey.

If he is it's a pass.

Signing any qualifying free agent voids your highest comp pick possibility so I think it'd be a wash on the Seumalo front.

I thought cut players don’t count towards the comp formula.

They do not.

if a team loses more players that qualify as CFAs than it signs during free agency, that team is eligible to be awarded compensatory picks in the following NFL draft. It is important to note that only certain players qualify for the compensatory formula. Those are only players whose contracts expire.

Here's one thing that I remember about McCoy. When he was the hot head coaching prospect because he was Peyton Manning's offensive coordinator (and isn't it hilarious how Manning's greatness seemingly automatically spilled over to every coach who happened to coach him...as if he wasn't going to be great anyway and their input probably accounted for very little), he interviewed for the Eagles job that eventually went to Chip Kelly. And the reports that filtered out at the time were that he pretty much bombed the interview process. Apparently the Eagles (Howie and Lurie presumably) were not impressed at all. He was hired by the Chargers and was pretty much a failure there. So I'm not really sure what there would be to recommend this guy. Because he was the coach of a Peyton Manning offense that would have been good if anyone at all had held that job, he's somehow a brilliant mind?

Yeah I wasn't guessing because of ability.  McCoy hired Sirriani and Sirriani had him visit camp once. Also McCoy was just Doug's QB coach in Jax. Those results aren't great in any spot but the hires are usually about connections

Is he a HOF OG?

Crazy stat - He has more career Pro Bowls 9 then he does career holding calls 7

Also, 7 time All-Pro...  Pretty sure he's a lock

Ahh right I didn't realise Seumalo was cut.

He hasn't been yet. I think this is a theoretical exercise unless I missed something

Might have been an afterthought because it's such a cool thing to share but if you wanted to keep the board and Facebook groups separate then you may want to not post the same pics

Obviously not going to say anything but wanted to give you a nudge that it can be linked. I'm trying to be very ambiguous

Well, I wasn't going to stalk anyone today but now I am.

I am not thrilled with any of the prospects and McCoy would seem like a pretty meh hire.  I think it also sets up Siranni as having too much say about the offense.

And to be honest, I don't think its even about Sirianni... I just want diverse minds working together rather than a single groupthink.  Groupthink get into ruts more easily, and stay there longer, IMO, than diverse perspectives coming together for a common goal.

With draft being loaded at DT do teams shy away from offering Milton a $20+ million contract.  Sportrac projects 3 year $36 million while PFF has him at 3 years $63 million.  Bleacher Report has 4 years $85 million

That's quite a gap.  I'd suggest that BOTH are wrong, and he ends up more in line with 3 years/$54M.

Curious how long until we get news of Baun's new contract

What would be difference in our cap space if we traded for Myles Garrett vs Maxx Crosby?

Definitely groupthink is part of the issue.  It also creates a potential trust issue where players feel they won't be supported by a coach if the coach is beholden to Sirianni.
