Talking about centers, I mentioned Creed Humphrey and Frank Ragnow. I should give a plug to Zach Frazier of the Steelers as well. Looks like a helluva player.

The issue with Milton Williams, and the reason to let someone else overpay him, is that it seems highly possible/likely that his success is due to playing next to Jalen Carter. And the best evidence o

Eagles pro shop are liars…i got the text that custom jerseys are back in stock.  They are not…

I've tried a bunch of these official sites and I'll get the email saying the order was canceled. My luck must suck because everyone seems to get an order through. I gave up

Tell that to his agent when he comes up for a contract. Zero sacks is a very significant statistic here because it's absolutely nothing and it kinda stands out and can't be overlooked. And playing next to Jalen Carter which is supposed to get you sacks pronto I thought. Not to say he can't break through and get some more going forward. But he still hasn't done it yet. Insane not to sign Williams if it's for $20-$21M, which I am hopeful it doesn't go past that number. There will be several bidders waiting on him for such an important position that many teams can use. I have seen rumors about Jordan Davis getting traded. I am thinking Fangio will direct all of this in what's coming. From his actions, he gave Williams more snaps as the year went along and Davis less snaps. He may see Davis as a luxury going forward. And that to me means Williams stays, as you save money that way and get a solid pick to restock.

It is a significant statistic. However it is only one statistic in a bunch of other statistics like QB hits, QB hurries, QB pressures, TFLs, stuffs, etc.  It is also a statistic that exists along with game tape and coaches’ opinions.

Are you purposely being simplistic/obtuse, or is that your standard MO?

If the Eagles stay with the current formula of being a running team and winning time of possession and having a lot of huge leads, Davis is a spare part here. A good one, but potentially an expensive one. For the most part, teams will be trailing and needing to pass in games, similar to the Chiefs game, where they had to abandon the run. This is still a passing league for the most part, so Milton Williams is not a luxury at all and a necessity. This defense with Carter and Williams makes everyone else's lives easier. I think Howie does make Milton a priority, but is he getting McNeil money or 4/84M or less? Being that it is a heavy DT draft, thinking $21M is the cap. Hargrave money sounds right.

Why in god's name would you be trying to buy a Sweat jersey when he is going to be gone in like a month.....

Because he was the MVP of the Super Bowl .....

He keeps saying "I need to do more reporting,” so I think it’s clear he’s just inferring in a vacuum that Howie would rather pay a shitton for a young DL than a lot for a ILB.

In the context of THIS Eagles team and the deep 2025 iDL class, this situation should be different.

I like Ojomo, but you're jumping the gun with thinking all these young guys are gonna come in and maintain the standard here set last year. Very naive of you on that front.

Im wearing my super bowl champions shirt today for the first time. And its another example of Fanatics just slapping a Nike logo on a fanatics crap product.

The shirt fits very awkwardly. And what Ive found to be the problem is the right sleeve is much shorter than the left. It seems to be maybe sown on bit twisted or crooked or something. And it creates a tightness extending from the armpit down across the right chest with a noticeable line of stretch. It also seems to fit tighter up top across the shoulders, and has extra room around the belly.

Just an odd looking shirt on the body. I probably will only ever wear it under a jersey or hoodie.

The shirt I bought fits well but is made of rhe cheapest fabric possible.  So rough it feels like sandpaper.  Not impressed

Might be wishful thinking, but I think there’s still upside with Davis. This was the first season he got better down the stretch, not worse. And you kept hearing how he was "building confidence” with his pass rush. And DT is typically a position where players are a bit slow to develop. Getting Clint Hurtt back is huge for him.

yeah I see the fabric complaint too. its not soft.

Point is he picked Williams and Becton as staying, Baun and Sweat as leaving

I do wonder if Howie/Vic will decide they can find the "next" Baun in free agency instead of paying up. I think this scenario was likely if Dean were healthy, but with Dean likely missing a good chunk of next year, I think that changes the calculus. On the other hand, Burks stepped in and played well, so clearly the coaching matters (Burks was schooled by Mahomes and KC in the last Super Bowl). My guess is they draw a line at $10mm AAV for Baun, and if someone goes higher, they resign Burks and try and find another FA. The Dean injury really complicates this.

Williams is long gone. Sweat is gone unless there is no market for him. Feels like Becton is back. Baun is the wildcard.

He’s using Howie’s rep and assumed he learned nothing. We never drafted CBs in rd 1 until we did and we never valued LBs until we had an All Pro and won the SB. I like to think that Howie continues to learn and while he thinks lines first he is seeing that other positions matter

Pretty sure Creed and Frazier were really good wrestlers in High School.  Think if I drafted a Center I'd want Wrestling to be part of their background

One name that I could see on a cheap 1 year deal...Calais Campbell going ring hunting. He's old, but he was still pretty good for Miami last year. He played one a 1 year, $2mm deal for the Dolphins last year. If he wants to keep playing, could see him here as a vet leader and a guy to eat some of Williams' snaps along with Ojomo.

It would be foolish to bring back Becton instead of Baun if the cost is similar.  I know Howie "doesn't value" the ILB spot, but Baun hasn't just been good or even great, he's an All-Pro.  A versatile chess piece weapon in Fangio's scheme.

We're much better off bringing back only Baun instead of Becton.  Baun is the only must re-sign guy we have.

Baun is not going to get as much as people think on the open market. Won't get what Queen got in free agency.

This.  Howie also didn't value RBs but he signed Saquon.

Baun is such a game-changer it would be idiotic to let him walk.

I don't disagree, but just thinking about how Howie views things. I'd rather let Steen play and keep Baun. However, based on my conversations, I'm not sure Howie will do the same thing.

With draft being loaded at DT do teams shy away from offering Milton a $20+ million contract.  Sportrac projects 3 year $36 million while PFF has him at 3 years $63 million.  Bleacher Report has 4 years $85 million

I expect him to get over $20M AAV.  The key will be the guaranteed money though

I agree.  A young DL people might project future impact and overpay.  An off ball LB who is 28 and had only one year as a starter in a perfect system fit might not get as much attention as some think.  Of course it only takes one team
