I strongly disagree. If I had the choice of the Eagles playing Stafford or Darnold and spotting his team 10 points, I’d pick going against Darnold in a heartbeat. Hell, did you watch their head to head playoff game? Wasn’t close and the Vikings may have had the better roster.

The only QB that is available that potentially could replace Stafford’s talent is Rodgers but even that is unlikely at this stage of his career.

Let me start by saying I'm no Darnold fan. I also don't put much stock in QB head to head "meetings." He is coming off his best season at a point in his career where I believe QBs should be having their best seasons. So he shouldn't be completely discounted just because he failed to lead a few terrible teams early in his career while he was learning. On the year, he had 5 bad games (including the playoffs). Stafford had pretty much the same amount. A coach like McVay may like what Darnold offers. It's been a few years since Stafford looked like a top QB and Darnold is 10 years younger.

Cosell leaning Steen over Becton and thinks Eagles may as well. Showed glimpses in his 3 starts of playing better than Becton. Thinks he's been overlooked. And says Baun is priority number 1. Podcast below.

Cosell is nowhere on this podcast. I don’t know where you got your notion but can’t have been from this.

Where are the links to the reports where Garrett has indicated he is looking for a new contract?

Myles Garrett doesn’t want to simply be traded. He also wants a new contract making him the highest paid defensive player in NFL history. No doubt the contract the Browns gave Watson bothered Garrett.

It's on the above link. At around 2 minute mark he starts Becton/Steen comments. He is high on Steen.

I repeat: Cosell is nowhere on this podcast. The only guy who says anything is someone named Diceccho.

His brother played for an Eagles playoff team.

Who

I can see this. Cheaper/depth/rebuild project.  Put him with a rookie and they have their 4 DE.

You're right. Mixed it up.He sounds like him. Cosell is on that podcast a bunch of other Eagles insiders Mosher and Caplan. It was an interesting perspective. All going to come down to money and Becton taking the home town discount to stay here or he's gone.

Seek and you shall find…

Harris’ group would finance the purchase with a down payment of $5.85 billion that would include $3.75 billion of equity, $1.1 billion of secured debt and $1 billion of unsecured debt. In addition, Snyder would get 50% of the incremental increase in the Commander’s gross revenue over the subsequent two years that will be paid out of the team’s cash flow. (Snyder thinks the two parties will split $400 million while Harris believes $200 million will be split down the middle.) Add that all up, and you get the total purchase price of $6.05 billion.

Thanks. I'm surprised that's out there, being a private transaction. Is there something about large transaction like this that require some sort of governmental reporting requirements? League requirement maybe? I'm not at all knowledgeable about that sort of thing.

I know the NFL has restrictions on how leveraged their franchises are (at least it did), but with $2.1B of debt <half of which is unsecured (no collateral)> the WAS group won’t be making $ for awhile… they’ll just be paying the mortgage. On top of that early-on according to the deal, they’ll be splitting their revenue w/ Snyder -> so running in the red.

He's been very open about wanting a trade. I haven't seen him actually say he wants a new deal. I think that's just what everyone expects because of his current contract

So, we aren't getting him and will have to sign our own guys?  Huh, I'm shocked.

Don’t put words in Cosell’s mouth that he didn’t say.

Did they re-dub Merrill’s Cooper DeJean call because he said DeJune? I’m pretty sure I’ve heard 2 versions

Sure.  Have him torture WA as the next Eagles reclamation project that becomes a pro-bowler

He 100% said DeJune during the game.

Perhaps Azeez Ojulari, not great against the run but maybe we could use him situationally. Gives me some Huff vibes, but he has a better build and is more physically talented… if AO can bring the right mindset, Hurtt seems to know what to do.

Not reporting anything, just speculation by the writer.

I know it's sacrilege but he's maybe someone else who should go out on top.  Mistakes are definitely piling up.  I love Merrill would rather not hear him decline more

I agree to an extent, but he's NEVER been able to pronounce names. Eddie Murray was Eddie Marry

I've also heard DeJean's name pronounced differently across the board. Some say Da-Jean. Others say Degean with a soft g.
