I agree with you, but how does the room react if we say move on from Nakobe Dean?

They need to react like professionals.  I'll add that given his injury, that's a very real possibility.

Kinda surprised they'd actually go.

I believe it’s a requirement if you want to host a Super Bowl unless if you’re in a warm climate. Lurie talked about this for Philly and wanting to host big events, but that’d require a dome.

Let's be honest about this... not every city is worthy of hosting a Super Bowl.  Jacksonville had no business hosting one.  And there are plenty others that really shouldn't be getting to host a Super Bowl.   It should be a place that has something to offer beyond the game.  A Super Bowl in Kansas?!     That would suck.

Well I've been told for possibly a decade or more that he's a cap wizard

That would settle the debate once and for all.  I don't see a viable way he could keep them all... but if he does, maybe the cap really isn't a real thing.  🤷‍♂️

I can't imagine why any fan woupd care about their city hosting the Super Bowl unless you're a local business looking to benefit from the influx of people for the week.  Indoor stadiums ruin the game of football and take a magical element out of it.

How does indoor stadiums ruin the game of football?

There have been a ton of great games that have been played indoors.  The teams playing are what make a great game.  Not whether it's indoors or outdoors.

You can have your opinion if you don't like indoor stadiums but saying they ruin the game is a little exaggerated.

Mania was in April, which is warmer. I think the MetLife thing was a one and done by the NFL. Too risky hosting an outdoor event in February in the northeast. They got lucky that the weather wasn't terrible in NJ for that Super Bowl.

Yep.  And people need to remember, the Super Bowl crowd isn’t your typical hardcore fanbase. (There’s a good amount of those too) but close to half the people there paying $5k-$10k+ per seat are the "Hollywood”, corporate types, etc - they don’t want to be in 20 degree weather watching a football game.

Jacksonville was 20 years ago so I think they learned their lesson. It should really just be a rotation between New Orleans, LA, Phoenix, Miami, and Vegas.

At least the bbq will be good lol

Yep.  I went to the Jacksonville Super Bowl and then to this one in New Orleans.

Nothing against Jacksonville, it was a decent time but it didn’t compare to New Orleans.

New Orleans is likely the perfect type of city for the Super Bowl - it’s the reason they’ve hosted it 11 times (tied for most with Miami) - the city, the culture, the food, the entertainment. the history, the French Quarter, etc - New Orleans really impressed.

Iconic moments happen in the elements.  The divisional game was great visually ... because it was outdoors

A SB in Philly would be pathetic, honestly.  Poor weather, not much to do.  Who wants to spend a week in Philly at a cost of thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars?

If the Eagles are looking for value EDGE players in RD4-RD5, I present:

Que Robinson, Alabama

6'4" 235 lbs

Issues that have dropped his stock some are smaller frame and injury concerns. And this being a historically strong DL class.

But he is quick off the snap with good burst to get in the backfield. Aggressive edge setter. Could be of interest if the Eagles want to double dip at the position.

They aren’t getting Campbell for the simple fact that it’s February and people are mocking him to them at 32. There’s no way that can turn out to be right

Why?  Serious question.  I’m interested in your thoughts.

Just because it’s really hard to mock 32 correctly and mocking it correctly in February seems really really unlikely. There’s nothing scientific to my explanation because I didn’t actually check old mocks

When the games mattered most in the playoffs, he was 13, 17, 13 and then 14 I believe in the SB. The defense was totally different after the bye and his snaps fluctuated a lot. I'm guessing based on the opponent. Still, not a huge amount of snaps for him.

The NFCCG and the SB were both blowouts.  Very little meaningful running plays after the first quarter.  They quickly made the opponent one dimensional in their play calling.

Assumption is after Combine and his interviews that his stock will soar upward.

Possibly Top 20 or Top 15.

Which would not surprise me.

Eagles will probably need to trade up to get him in April.

I haven’t been back since Katrina… and I would never want to live there after spending my college time there… but, yeah, it’s the perfect big sporting event city.

That could happen or he could drop. My main point was it’s just rare to call pick 32 in February

I tend to agree he won’t last to 32.

He should have a really good combine and his skill set is so versatile that I expect him to be in high demand.

I think he’s the type of guy that pundits haven’t caught up to NFL execs yet.

Living in KS for the last 5 years I can confirm that it indeed would suck ..

The elements are part of the game. Part of what makes it great.  To remove it is to remove a lot of the magic of the game.

I know I’m a hater, but I don’t see Travis Hunter worthy of a top 5 draft pick.  He’s not going to play full time on both sides of the ball, so he needs to be evaluated as a CB first and someone who can be utilized occasionally on offense in some limited packages.

He’s a really good CB prospect, no doubt.  Not sure he’s as good a prospect as Sauce Gardner was, though.  I heard Albert Breer say he’s the most "interesting” prospect in the past 20 years.  Frankly, I don’t see the upside as a WR that Breer does.  Breer comped him to Devonta Smith and Garrett Wilson — I don’t see that at all.  Both those guys were better route runners and technicians than Hunter, and both were dynamic enough to get over the top of college defenses regularly.  Not seeing that in Hunter’s highlights, unless Shadeur Sanders has a serious rag arm.  Hunter is catching balls downfield, but more because of the weak conference competition, IMO.

He should get drafted in the 8-12 range as a CB, IMO — but he’ll get over drafted higher it appears.

I'm glad the earlier reports were fake news. Going to the White House is tradition and regardless of political affiliation the team is given a chance to do something that not everybody can do. There have been presidents I liked and presidents I didn't like, but I would never pass up an opportunity like that. I was kind of embarrassed the way both sides handled it last time.
