So is Benedict Jason feeding Andy trade secrets of how the Eagles do it?  Has he been doing just since he became a turncoat or was he also doing that while playing here?

Can you tell us who you interviewed if it was so extensive??

So, a player who is under contract with a team at any point during the season when that team wins the Super Bowl usually gets a Super Bowl ring, it's up to the team of course. But they usually award that player a ring too, I believe.

So that means that Nick Foles gets his second Super Bowl ring since he signed his 1 day contract during the 2024 Eagles season

Ok, probably won't get one. But he should, just to tweak Carson a little... lol

He can have Devin Smith's ring.  Foles did more this season to earn it than Smith did.

Edit: I have been informed his name is Devin White.  Whatever.

At least he mentioned that they have other open positions

They are really going to give him $40M per year lol

He was so irrelevant you just made up his name

What would everyone give up to get Garrett? I’d give up the 2025 2nd and a 4th then a 2026 3rd that turns into a 2nd if he makes the pro bowl.

Would you give up Williams, Sweat, Becton & Slay?  You’d probably have to purge all those guys and that’s assuming you could keep Baun which I’m not sure about

Smith... White... whatever.

Yes

It sounds more like No to me.

It was neither… It was your standard canned GM response. "I’m not going to talk about players that are under contract with another team, but I can promise the fans that we will look at every available player in an effort to make our team better.”  Blah blah blah… Just what he’s supposed to say

Anyone claiming to get a yes or no for MG out of that answer, is kidding themselves…

They’ll figure out the cap. I’m not sure why so many of you are worried about it.

Sweat is definitely gone. Wiliams and Slay I’d guess are like 80% gone.

Yes.  You already have in house replacements for those guys, with the exception of maybe Slay but it'll be time to move on from him anyway unless he reworks his deal.

The overall tone of Howie's press conference is that the young guys are going to have to step up and we can't just keep everyone. Sounded more realistic than optimistic. Talked about being creative and not boxing yourself in. Sounds like he's looking for a bang for the buck offseason than to go all in on high priced vets.

I was a few years after you so I did see the playoffs a couple of times.

btw - Several of those years were the 2-4 win type years.  It wasn't like we were just missing by a game.

They did win nine games the year I was in first grade, but all I knew about football at the time was that it was something that my daddy watched on the weekends. I'm not even sure I knew the Eagles existed. I was far more into Batman anyway.

Howie keeps everything close to the vest.

As of right now every NFL team has exactly one first round draft pick.  That hasn't happened in ..... forever.

This past season I commented a few times how less parity there was in the league; IMO there are legitimately at least 10 terrible teams picking in the top 10.  If Tennessee trades out of the #1 pick, for example -- who trades up to take it?  There isn't a consensus franchise QB available and, while I see Abdul Carter as the clear #1 prospect, there isn't any consensus on that.

It should be an interesting first round.

Abdul belongs to the Eagles!!!  Hands off everyone else.

That sounds right.  Has to keep his options open and be flexible because we have some guys we need to extend.

I'd prefer to just keep building the way they've been building, but I'm sure if they end up swinging a trade for Garrett, they'd do it in a way that doesn't strap them. It might very well come down to Eagles or Wash for him. If he gets traded. I don't see a ton of teams out there who will be in play. Maybe Packers or Lions. Maybe Rams too, Snead has a knack for trading for vets, but I think their DL is good enough.

What I took from Howie's PC is the quote that "this next season is the most important and we're trying to keep this window open as long as possible".  I weigh that against his quote from 2019 (or 2020 after everything imploded) where he said he got too attached to that 2017 team and held on to guys too long).  He also addressed the numerous UGA players on the roster and said it was an advantage that they already had chemistry together entering the NFL.

It left me thinking Slay is gone, Williams is very likely gone, Graham will be asked to retire ... it seemed to me like he talked about Baun as though he still thinks of him as an Eagle.
