And how would they know it was or wasn't past the LOS on a play like that?  It would be impossible to enforce properly.

I thought of the LOS option before but if they did that it’s even more specifically an anti-eagles rule.

Good for Jalen but why is it up to a pro athlete to ensure schools have functioning AC units?

1000%. Makes you wonder where tax money goes.

It would have to be like an ineligible man downfield penalty but even that would be near impossible to call in real time for this.

Why?

Why?  Because he allows the Eagles to dictate to their opponents as opposed to having their opponents dictate to them.  Davis is the lynch pin of that approach.  When the try to establish a running game in the 1st Quarter, the Eagles say F that!  Davis is the immovable force at the center of that.  His ability to dominate the center of the LOS creates clearly defined gaps that both Baun and Dean have very effectively plugged.  That means 3rd and long passing situations where Fangio’s light box and smothering Back Seven thrive.  It is an incredibly efficient and effective approach that leverages Davis’ strengths … both literally and figuratively.

Huff.  Bradberry.  Just depends upon how much dead money we can absorb.  Maybe Howie wants to eat a lot this year since CJ and JC are coming up.

There is no reason to consider trading Huff until the end of Training Camp.  His value will be greater then (thanks to injuries on other teams) for both the Eagles (if he somehow comes to life in Fangio’s scheme) and for possible trading partners.

Peters squeezed out as much money as he possibly could from the league. Good for him. Guy deserves it.

Does his body deserve it?

I don't believe he's worth a new contract

Teachers unions.

Yes... and no.  I got to spend a summer working in the School District of Philadelphia Central Administration building.  They throw money away left and right in the most ridiculous ways imaginable.

For example:  Just before I got there they had just bought every single secretary in the district a brand new Apple computer.  Two months later, they hired a new Financial Director over seeing the entire district's fiscal situation.  His first move?   Buy every secretary in the school district a brand new PC computer, because the accounting software he wanted them all to use for their budgeting items was PC only and wouldn't run on Macs.  Things like that were commonplace.  And that's not related to anything regarding the teachers' union, and not exactly what I would call corruption, just incompetence or ridiculousness that you literally couldn't make up.

Up to Fangio.  If he believes in Davis as his NT, he will be.  He's got one more season on his rookie contract and a 5th year option so time to prove/improve himself.

I got my hands on a really cool Super Bowl item. Don’t have it in hand yet it didn’t ship, but I’ll post a pic when it arrives 😁

Obviously it’s up to the coaches. Fans discuss their opinions knowing it’s not going to make a difference. People could want to keep Davis and Howie decides to cut loose

For the love of god just retain Baun pls

I'm pretty sure the average knowledgeable fan understands the situation. Between Baun, Williams, and Sweat they can only realistically retain one of them and with an in house replacement ready to go in Steen, Becton is probably gone as well. As Howie did last off-season, he will have to try to find some bargains in free agency and draft well. BOTH times the Eagles won the SB Howie was able to sign guys to cheap one year deals who nobody thought would be key contributors (Robinson, Blount, Baun, Becton).

In PA roughly 53% of a schools budget is funded by local property taxes and income taxes.  Doylestown's 53% amounts to a lot more than a  school district in West Philly.  13% is fed $, the rest state $.

The Giants are exactly what you don’t want a GM and coach who are obviously a year from getting fired in charge. They’ll make dumb short term decisions.

I didn’t bother answering but yes. And whatever you think of teachers unions the amount of money going to teachers isn’t high.   The reality is there’s just not that much money budgeted to public schools in most places

Well i certainly expect notable guys to be gone..

Bradberry

Graham

Burks

Sweat

Williams

Gainwell

Becton

On a side note:

If the Eagles are truly in the running for Garrett, and I believe they're in the running(though not sure they'll end up getting him) any players that leave this offseason is because they don't value them at their number, not that they can't afford them. If you're able to afford Garrett and extend him for 35-40m, then they can afford Baun/Williams/Becton, etc.

Letting whomever go is more "We don't think you're good enough to be paid that" and not "We can't afford you"

Jeepers, a negative take from you is so unexpected. I need to buckle up just to handle the divergence from your normal optimistic take...

I think I read somewhere the leadership strategy, "set expectations low and then over deliver." Could be.

How is it negative to paraphrase what he said? I'm not worried but it sounds like maybe one is coming back. Not unexpected either.

Unless the Garrett situation plays out a lot faster than I expect then I think most free agent decisions will happen first and I still think they all come down to do we think you’re valuable enough to us

Gonna throw out a potential name I could see interesting the Eagles this offseason as a sleeper trade. Jermaine Johnson from the Jets. Still a young guy, coming off an injury so may be acquirable for lower value than expected. Howie likes to buy low on former first rounders. And Jets have McDonald who they drafted. Not saying it will happen, but if the Eagles are exploring all options at edge, he's a guy I could see them maybe pursuing. And Johnson was a Joe Douglas guy, so the current regime has no attachment to him.

Wait for him to be cut as a Cap casualty.  If there is any interest at all
