I actually think Baun is the ONE they re-sign.  LB salaries in comparison to DT, Edge and Guard (top tier players) are less.....if you are going to let a lot of guys walk (like is being inferred by Howie's comments), just bring back Baun.  Steen takes over for Becton (younger guy), Ojomo for Williams and Hunt for Sweat.  Yes, you had better start building some depth with signings, draft.

It’s baffling to think that Becton probably gets a higher salary than Baun. Hopefully they keep them both.

If they ban the tush push, they need to ban all forms of pushing on offense.

If that's illegal than so are all these plays:

Yep, how is that any different than a tush push? For that matter, why is it ok fo rthe defense to pile on and push the ballcarrier all over the field, that also looks dangerous as hell. Are they going to pass a rule that only 1 defender is allowed to engage at a time or no pushing is allowed?

At this point if the other franchises want to declare the Eagles the Wilt Chamberlain of the league and beg for mercy… fine, we’ll still be a good team in short yardage BUT drop this player safety excuse, it’s pathetic and disingenuous.

The Rams are trying to move Stafford and Kupp to free up cap space, why would they immediately take it up again with Rodgers and Adams?

Indeed. And why would anyone want Rodgers in the room?😮

Disingenuous is the perfect word. There is no way these coaches, men who have been around football their entire lives, really think this is dangerous. Especially when no one is actually getting hurt.

How much is making the opposing Offense one dimensional worth?

If you don’t know the answer to that question, ask Vic Fangio … or Andy Reid.

For how long? He's not on the field that much. It'd be different if he had higher snap counts

What do you think Jermaine Johnson would cost in a trade?  Same question for Harold Landry

Johnson is coming off an Achilles tear and is entering the final year of his deal I believe so nothing

He's also a former Bulldog so played with most of the guys on the DL so wonder if Howie will ask them about him.  Do like this as a buy low candidate.  He had 7.5 sacks the year before his injury

My issue with Gainwell is he’s not good enough to carry the load if Saquon goes down with an injury.

Suddenly our offense becomes very one dimensional. Can Shipley do that, even in a rotation? I don’t think so.

So while Gainwell is a useful role player, he almost imposes weak depth at the position unless we are willing to carry a 4th RB.

I’d much rather go with one of the many talented rookies this year who you can get in the mid rounds that might actually have starting level potential. It seems to me to be a major weakness in our depth that could be a season killer. Obviously you aren’t getting another Barkley, but if you can get a legitimate starting level player on a cheaper contract I think it would go a long way towards fortifying our title defense.

One problem - a talented rookie may be able to rush effectively behind this OL, but can he be trusted in blitz pickup?

Miss a couple blocks and end the season (Hurts injured).

Looks like Brian Griese decided to step away from coaching

Schefter threw cold water on Garrett to the Eagles and said he would be stunned if it happened.

Two issues with Gainwell… because the FA class is so weak, and the running game coming back in style, I think he’ll get good offers from other teams viewing him as a guy who can get more touches in a rotation.

Second is the draft class is incredibly deep, so the eagles will probably see his spot as an easy way to save money with a rookie.

That said, they do like him a lot, so maybe the draft class dampens his offers. The problem is if Gainwell wants more money and/or a more prominent role he’s going to have to leave for another team.

The biggest dampener on his offers are going to be the game he put up in week 18, he was completely outplayed by Shipley, and it's not like Shipley had a monster game, but as a rookie behind the second string line he had over a yard and a half per tote more than Gainwell.

Add in Miles Sanders and D'Andre Swift both looking way better behind our line than they have anywhere else and Saquon showing what a genuinely elite back does behind it and I don't think Gainwell has that big a payday or role coming, I think he's gone and Shipley just slots in as first rotation, they bring in a late rounder to compete / fill out the roster.

Well, Howie stuns people sometimes.

anyone seen EaglesVA around ever since the QB he hates, the HC he hates, and the GM he hates won the SB?

Blitz pickup is the single worst argument for keeping Gainwell, his blitz pickup was godawful this year, there were a couple where he hid behind the wrong side of the O Line as free rushers ran behind him.

I mean look at the cap.  People are living on Fantasy Island here

The Eagles need to show a highlight reel of players being pushed over the line: RBs, WRs, TEs, and Tom Brady being pushed from behind on the QB sneak, and the NY Times headline praising them for the play.

They also need to petition the league to not call penalties on them for illegal man downfield when it's really their pulling O linemen are so athletic and fast.

If they're going to use the argument "there's no skill" in a play - that requires skill in blocking, running, lifting weights to gain the strength to do it - then they also need to ban Mahomes flipping the ball away and make QBs use a traditional forward pass motion. And the Chiefs doing their circle dance huddles and odd formations.

They also need to then not allow any fluke plays that happen by accident because that doesn't require skill: like the ball bouncing off a helmet and into another guy's hands.

But what they really need to focus on is the terrible officiating around the league.

It's annual speculation season, enjoy the ride.

Sources: Eagles will let (free agent) walk.

Other sources: I'm told the Eagles will retain (free agent).

Sources: Eagles will not draft (position) this year.

Other sources: Eagles targeting (position) this year.

Sources: Eagles have no interest in trading for (player).

Other sources: Eagles have strong interest in trading for (player).

This was obvious to anyone who watched an Eagles game. Easily the most important player to re-sign and that's not disrespectful to Milton.

No way, if you're banning it "because, safety", then pushing a player should be banned.

Also, if the tush push is so controversial, why don't other teams run it?  I think this is some sour grapes from a team like Green Bay that's upset because they can't seem to advance very far into the playoffs.

I truly believe Baun takes less of stau here, maybe at the cost of more guaranteed money but less AAV
