Would Giants trade the #3 pick in the draft for Stafford or do you think it would be 2nd round pick this year and 1st rounder next year type deal?

I’m sure that’s what the Rams want but that’s steep for a guy who’s in his late 30s. They’ll most likely be able to get Carter or the guy from Colorado with that pick

If Schoen offers the #3 overall pick for Stafford, Mara should fire him before the trade can go through.

I think the daycare complaint has been in there since they started doing these report cards

Seriously Stafford gets the Giants to 8 or 9 wins tops for one year. That is loser organization thinking

For how long? He's not on the field that much. It'd be different if he had higher snap counts

You are missing the point.  I’ll try and do better in explaining it.

In any football game both teams start the game with multi-dimensional game plans.  Each snap has the potential to be either a running play or a passing play.  That multi-dimensionality forces the opposing Defensive Coordinator to have to simultaneously scheme for defending BOTH a running play and a passing play.  The Offensive Coordinator can dial up play action plays that look like a run but actually are a pass, or a RPO which puts the Defense into a bind.

Snaps that have that multi-dimensionality are the ones where Davis has the most value because he mitigates the effectiveness of the running option.  When the running game isn’t effective it is much harder for the Offense to get 1st downs and sustain drives and score points (especially touchdown points).

Even better than taking away the effects of the running game on an individual play by play basis is taking the whole running dimension off the table.  That happens like it did in the Super Bowl and NFCCG when the opposing team falls behind enough on the scoreboard that their only option is to call passing plays in the hope of catching up.  When that happens Davis has done his job.  He and his teammates have made the opposition one-dimensional.  He is like a starting pitcher who has achieved a Quality Start.  He has delivered the play quality desired.  Quality is what matters.  Quantity is secondary.

Are those quality snaps the be-all and end-all of what Clint Hurtt and Vic Fangio and Howie Roseman ideally want from Davis? No they are not.  They are all working hard to increase the diversity and breadth of Davis’s game to make him just as effective in snaps where the opposing team is one-dimensional, but that would be icing on the cake.  The cake itself is to throttle the opposition when they are multi-dimensional.

No I understood your point. I just disagreed with it

Since they are in a compensation pick hunting offseason I wonder who the bottom of the barrell FAs are that they might have theor eyes on.  Perhaps bringing Matt Pryor back?

Fred Johnson is far preferable to Matt Pryor.

Lurie should just have a team plane at this point

Hard to believe the Eagles Ownership is rated B while the Saints ownership is rated A.

The bottom line is the Eagles aren't paying Jordan Davis 11.5M in his 5th season for about 20 snaps a game. Thus, this will come to a head this offseason to resolve this if the plan is Carter & Ojomo/Williams as the starters. I think Gannon gets him and extends him. He will probably add one of Sweat/Williams as well. Arizona has cap space and glaring needs on the defensive line. Davis will get more money and opportunity elsewhere.

Like the board he's also a Walter Nolen fan... Said he wouldn't be shocked if he goes in the top 10.  Would be amazing if he could be had at 32

Eagles got buried this year compared to last. 22nd out of 32.

Do players vote on only their own team, or on all teams?

Those bus trips to New Jersey and Baltimore and Washington definitely are much greater wear and tear on the players than plane trips are.

Why would a player vote on an organization they weren't part of for that season?  Wouldn't make sense to let them do that.

Do you not see the value in forcing the opposing team into being one dimensional?

It's mostly facility related if you look at the breakdown. Perceived willingness to invest in facilities is higher for Benson than Lurie which makes sense given the other comments and grades.

I agree with you.  But that makes the Ownership grade of B all the more perplexing.

It has and it's weird because it seems like such an easy fix. There are only 3 teams that don't offer it and the Eagles are one of them for some reason.

That it changed so dramatically from one year to the next shows how little it means.  Obviously players want daycare on Sundays.

During Howie's PC when asked about Myles Garrett he scratched his lower right lip which clearly means that negotiations are just wrapping up

No. It's the Stark guy who was on the Eagles message board at that time, who predicted the Dream Team flawlessly. I forget his full handle. Maybe JimmyStark? Now that was fun!
