I've been pounding the Michael Mayer drum for a while now. I know he's a little smaller than you'd normally want in a "number one' tight end but he can play. I have to think the Raiders would listen to offers since they got Bowers last year.

Perfect example. Send them Pickett. Minshew will show him the ropes.

Gunnar Helm (Texas) or Terrance Ferguson (Oregon) would be very tempting if they are at 96 and the DL had been addressed with the first two picks.

I would prefer Mason Taylor (LSU) or Elijah Arroyo (Miami) to either of those two.  And then a Day 3 selection of Jackson Hawes (Georgia Tech)

I don’t think they can trade Huff. They need the depth since there’s nothing else outside of Smith and Hunt. Trading Huff post June 1st is $22 million in dead cap in 26, and would hinder them from making moves next year.

That $22 million Cap hit is going to happen regardless of whether he is kept or traded.  The only difference is timing.  If he is being kept around just for Cap purposes, with no intention of letting him play, what are the chances that he won’t become a locker room cancer?

Arroyo is climbing boards apparently and I don’t see a pick at 32 for a TE. It seems almost set in stone they’ll pick a DL. Of course it isn’t that certain but I’d bet on it vs every other position combined

I like them both too. But I think you have to hope they fall to 64 and take them in RD2.  Daniel Jeremiah has Taylor at #36 on his Top 50 board and Arroyo at #45.

Big fan of Hawes RD5 or later. He was a blocking machine at Georgia Tech.

I just found a guy who might be the greatest NFL player I never heard about and who should be in the HoF.

He was a 6'3" 211 lb WR in the 1960s - Art Powell

He was drafted by the Eagles and played DB only for 1 year. Then he went to the AFL

In his first 7 years in the AFL he averaged 1096 and 11 at 16.7 a catch in 14 game seasons.

  • That's 1330 and 13 in a 17 game season... but in the 1960s.
  • Rice in his first 11 was 1481 and 14 at 15.6 a catch (per 17) (pre-injury)
  • Megatron would be 1463 and 10 in 17 at 15.9 per catch

He made 1st or 2nd team all-pro 5 times in those 7 years.

He only made 4 pro bowls because pro bowls did not exist for the first 3 years he was a WR.

He is still 1st in receiving TDs in a season (16), 5th in career receiving yards, and 4th in career TD catches for the Raiders.

He only played there for 4 years.

He is also #1 for single season receiving TDs for the Jets (14), 14th in career yards 11th in TDs, He played there 3 years.

You can find some video of him online in a Facebook link. He looks like a WR Jim Brown.

Mason Taylor I could see (But I doubt he makes it to 96) but I'd take Helm over Arroyo. The big knock on Helm is his production was helped by the weapons around him, which is pretty much the situation he'd walk into here anyway and he's hands down a better route runner than Arroyo, who's also suffered 2 season ending knee injuries in his last 3 years in college.

Setting aside the injury concerns, Arroyo to me is the far more dynamic prospect while Helm has a higher floor.

The injury issues can’t be ignored, but, Arroyo to me can be an explosive weapon as a receiver while Helm is more of a possession receiver with good blocking.

I guess it comes down to your appetite for risk, but for me, we still have Goedert and Calcaterra. We can get a high floor, low ceiling guy in the later rounds this year or next. If we are taking a TE high, I want a guy with the potential to change the way teams defend us. Arroyo just might have that potential, but Helm doesn’t.

So it's either a Jones or a navicular. The type of injury players sometimes miss a whole year for, like embiid.

What's the long term prognosis for a football player?    If its good... I still take him at #32.

Allen and Tuten are both South Jersey guys.  Neal has been my favorite RB prospect, really good size.  I'm interested to see how he runs.

nice display. Why is that confetti not lombardi shaped?

So they fire off two rounds of confetti. The Lombardi shaped confetti is dropped on the field on the main stage for the trophy ceremony.

I've been saying the same thing, but I'm not so sure he's not undersized. He's 6-4 265. Pretty ideal IMO. Trade for him, bring Ertz in on a 1-year deal and Calcaterra is TE3. TE room is set.

They will be gone by 96. Inlike taylor as well but think he goes in the second

That line of thinking consistently fails at TE. Thats how you become the falcons.

Helm is a perfect fit for us and can probably be had in the third

If Slay is gone, this is a good possibility. Even if they re-sign Rodgers, there would not be much depth beyond an unproven Ringo.

Could be some RD1 talent that falls to pick 64.

Also would keep an eye out on mid-round CB gems. Either of the Kansas CBs would look real good in RD3.

A guy I really like is UD's Tyron Herring. He's 6-2 195 and rangy. He put on a show at the East-West Shrine Game. The Eagles could probably bring him in as a local college visit. He's probably a 5th-6th round guy, but I think he's going to be a great pro. Really versatile player.

Whoever brought up the Kansas CBs:

This guy had 11 career picks with 5 TDs
