Wow. That is more than a few million per year higher than I thought he'd get.

Milton, thanks for the Super Bowl...

I was really hoping for someone from the McVay tree.

just kidding, seems fine. I’ll trust Stoutland to pick an assistant OL coach

He was assistant OL coach under Stoutland for three years. Also coached under Doug Peterson. Stoutland knows him well. Looks like a good hire to me.

There was also Derek Barnett in 2017. And Steve White in 1996 (who?).

Fun fact: the Eagles didn't draft Reggie White.

Right. Never said they drafted him.  Well, the Eagles did draft him in sense, they got him in the 1984 Supplemental draft per Wikipedia.

Texas TE Gunnar Helm had a meeting with the #Eagles, one of 7 formal interviews he’s had. Feels like he was a great vertical threat in Steve Sarkisian’s offense.

Do you have any citation for where these players spoke with the eagles? I would like to add them to players the eagles have met with in the draft section just usually like to have something to go along with the information.

I think he’s a fairly good comp for Milton, but he’s 100 percent hitting the open market so he should get more.

Sounds like Rapoport was trying to do damage control for the Golden Boy Brady and Schultz wasn't having it.  Should have given him a 5 knuckle shuffle... Also, on the 5 knuckle shuffle topic why do they call it that?  Do people actually hit with the thumb knuckle?

Devin Jackson tweeted about Helm. Chase Senior tweeted about Moore.

Where is Tolentino working these days?

I know FA and the draft are still ahead of us, but right now there's just nothing behind Smith and Hunt. The intent is to have him in a situational pass rush role and get more out of him. He was still 30th in pass rush win rate and had an incredible get off time, obviously you want more for what was paid but he's not a bum out there.

There's almost a $16 million cap difference between trading Huff this year vs post June 1st him in 2026. You can either use the cap and have the player give you situational snaps, or you can throw it all in the trash.

image.thumb.png.bc6794313099d4dce89eff46476f61a8.png

What are the chances that he becomes a locker room cancer?

You are only looking at the Cap charges on a one year time horizon.  If he is traded post-June 1 the 2025 Cap charge is $6,451,000 and the 2026 Cap charge is $22,139,000 for a total Cap hit of $28,590,000.

If he is retained through the 2025 season his 2025 Cap charge is $7,511,000 and if traded or released in 2026 his combined 2026 and 2027 Cap charge is $22,139,000 for a total Cap hit of  $29,650,000.

So by keeping him and not playing him this season the total Cap hit for him goes up by $1,050,000.

They did draft Reggie White... in the 1984 USFL supplemental draft.  The Eagles had the #4 pick that year.   The Giants had #3.  The Giants selected Gary Zimmerman.   Could you imagine had the Giants selected White to pair with Lawrence Taylor?!     😬.  The Eagles didn't draft him in the 1984 NFL draft because he had already agreed to play for the Showboats and it would have been a wasted pick.

If he gets $21 then Milton gets more.

Yup.   The USFL became a problem for the NFL, so they had to figure something out.  Their decision was to draft the USFL & CFL players that were seniors who signed with the USFL or CFL before the NFL draft that April.   3 rounds total.  3 Hall of Famers came from that draft... the 3 came in the first 4 picks.  The Oilers got the only non-HOF player in the top 4 with Mike Rozier.

without the Playoffs they do appear to be good comps.  The Eagles using Davis on running snaps probably contributes to the tackles difference.

TBF Zimmerman went into the HoF so it wasn't like the Giants screwed the pick badly, I mean he never played a down for the Giants because he claimed he should have been a free agent who was free to sign anywhere rather than forced to enter a draft, which makes it still funny.

TJ Sanders or Walter Nolen would be nice Milton replacements. But I prefer Edge in round 1.

Man if you're ever in the UK, do not under any circumstances offer to give a man a 5 knuckle shuffle if you're trying to threaten them.
