Tomlin is the wrong coach to say that to.  Stupid to spout it off to the media regardless, but know your audience.  Tomlin is as old school as it gets and was asking about major and GPA.  Anyone who thinks he wants to hear Cardale Jones quoted is going to have a serious problem learning under certain coaching personalities.

Jerry Jones is the only audience that’s dumb enough to not be scared off by that idiocy.

Nothing gets past you, Detective!

Can't say the same for some people

The guys that really interest me are Chase Young and Kyle Pitts.  Myles Garrett is just too pricey for me.  They are great parallels to the Barkley/Becton additions this past offseason.  Top of the draft rare talents that didn't put it together, but are still young.  You could have either one, or both.

At worst, accounting for Hunt's development, a Hunt/Young platoon next year is going to match a Sweat/Hunt platoon.  And Pitts will be an upgrade over Calcaterra with an audition to take over the position for Goedert.  If he blossoms, that could give the offense a new dimension to compensate for maybe a little less Barkley load and dominance in 2025.

It probably was put on reverse.

That way when he looks in a mirror, it will look normal. What a great idea!!

I like Pitts. Young might get paid too much but we'll see.

Not sure what getting Pitts will do currently.   Goedert doesn't really see many targets.  I doubt Pitts would.

We are not getting Garrett. Would be a stupid trade

You don't know that they aren't.  Stupid trades have happened before and will happen again, see the recent Doncic trade for evidence.   But how can you say it is a stupid trade until you actually know what the cost is?  It might be, but if somehow they can get him for peanuts... it would be a stupid trade, but not from the Eagles' perspective.

I'm not expecting it, but it would be malpractice on the part of Howie if he weren't involving himself in the discussions and staying on top of what the price actually is.  That's his job.  And it doesn't cost anything to listen.

Garrett only makes sense if HE makes it happen.  Takes less money and destroys the Brown's leverage.  No Howie magic, no Howie mistake and over-commitment.  Garrett's got to make it happen.  Otherwise it just doesn't make sense.

We'll see what transpires.

Not a bad idea.  I thought at least 2 with a TE and sign a EDGE or DT.

I figure we have Smith, Hunt, rookie, Huff, Rookie as our depth chart heading into training camp with the hope the second rookie can beat out Huff by mid season.

Hear me out. A lot of guys on here are making great points about the Eagles not investing top dollar at every position across the OL. I think Tyler Steen on a rookie contract is VERY attractive to them. I also think Becton can be brough back at a reasonable starting RG price.

What if the Browns ask for Landon Dickerson and the Eagles are able to bring Becton back. I LOVE Landon Dickerson, but again, the Eagles have Tyler Steen waiting around. Steen is a good player but no where near the level of Dickerson. You have to wonder if Dickerson's knees break down sooner than later. He's everything you want in an OL and he plays through pain as much as he can. But at some point the body might just say it's had it.

You lose a Pro Bowl LG, but you plug in a rookie contract at LG, keep the starting RG and once you extend Jurgens, your top dollars are spent at LT, C and RT.

I'm not advocating they do this, but thinking of ideas that might come out of left field.

Yeah no

There's been no official report of it, but this is a clear post surgery wrap. That's not a normal just healing wrap. When I tore my bicep, I had the exact type of dressing on my arm.

I'm pretty sure if BG actually tore his tricep again in the Super Bowl and had another surgery afterward, it would have been reported.  So I don't believe it.

He obviously was not fully healed by the SB since he came back so fast, so this wrap is probably just precautionary to continue the healing process.

That means he should be good to go at the start of next season assuming he wants to come back.

If the price is right I'd love to have him since he provides valuable depth at DE and can rush inside from DT also.

If you're willing to go for a home-run you don't do Garrett. You just do Baun and Williams and you keep all your draft picks, while Howie does his magic in the draft. Don't need to over-think this. Sets your defense up great for the next few years while Garrett is in his age 30 season and is riskier and will ask for a huge contract within a year. Defense stays mostly intact and less risky of upsetting the great chemistry. One thing that's being understated is Williams's positional versatility, which I'm sure Fangio loves, as can play some defensive end as well. Davis and Ojomo can't do this. He's going to increase his snaps next year with a new contract to warrant the cost. Move him up to 60-65% snaps. Trade Davis and draft a defensive tackle to replace him and we still maintain great depth and can afford Carter. Cowboys are willing to pay Osa Odighizuwa and Howie should do the same with Williams, as long it's similar numbers. That's my plan, but I'm not Howie.

This is the draft to load up on DL/EDGE.

I want a minimum of 3. I wouldn’t mind using our first 3 picks on DL — 2 EDGE and 1 DT.

Thats what Ive been hoping for.

Wheeze Kids 2.0.  Just gotta finish the job this time.

Seriously though... this team is WAY younger than that 1983 team.

Those 1983 guys are in their 70s/80s or dead ...

Seriously though, the job of this Phillies team is to get into the playoffs with a fresh pitching staff.

They need dominant games from 3 of them about 8-10 times to win a title.

Wheeler will be 1. Any of the other guys could be 2 and 3

I prefer its not Nola. He's a fine regular season pitcher but he is almost never Cole Hamels/Curt Schilling clutch in the playoffs.

working on it.

@jojodancer I'd rather keep a few of our free agents and add some ring chasers cheap like maybe Khalil Mack or Jaire Alexander/Jamel Dean(if/when released) If Becton gets paid and Zeitler wants a ring, I will take him too.  I don't want 8 ring chasers but I will take a few 2022 Suh types.

I would rather get the GT kid Hawes honestly. Nasty blocker. Have to think Stout would love him

Disagree. We won with a young and hungry team last year and should continue with the same formula to extend this window out. In 2023, we did the 1 year deals with cheaper vet free agent types and the chemistry was awful. This defense has magical chemistry right now. And can not be overstated. Offense is gonna be fine. Need that defense to be top ranked or we lose our edge with the other teams who will most likely be middle of the pack. (Chiefs, Bills, Commanders and Lions).

I think this is the year they have to consider drafting a linebacker with a high pick.  Not first round, that's for the line, but maybe 2nd or 3rd.  We need some talent there.  Who knows when Dean comes back and if he does what type of player he will be.  that was a significant injury.

It's going to be a fun ride this offseason.

Take a look at Campbell from Alabama.  He has both linebacker and pass rushing edge chops

Not sure if the UCLA kid makes it to our 2nd rounder

Taylor just makes catches look easy. Dude will have a long career. No brainer in the 3rd to me
