With the amount of money going to Baun, hopefully, Howie probably won't want to spend another red cent on a LB. But he would be a fine extension at a low cost if that's what his market is.

Or rather, hopefully Howie and Baun work it out and we get Baun, Burks and Dean comes back early. AFTER Howie got good deals because he struck early!

They have so much cap space though.  Wouldn't be surprised to see them go after one of Sweat/Milton/Baun/Becton.

Thinking about it with how much they are going to end up spending this offseason on big name players it's all but a lock that they are our week 1 opponent for that Thursday night season opener.

They have about 11 starters hitting FA. They have holes up and down their roster. The might have cap space, but they don't have half a team.

81 in space to 64 in space and still almost half a team to resign or replace.

The Seachickens just traded Metcalf.  That seems to signal a rebuild.

Conflicting reports there of packers trade

And LOTS of cap space too

Reports I see are GB made an offer or no they did not.

That does not sound like a trade happened.

Lots of cap for 2 bad players.

Two declining players on big contracts.

Who is your backup Center?

Day 3 guy or UDFA.

You are buying injury insurance very very very low.  Essentially no insurance at all.

Here's a crazy idea. Dylan McMahon is a FA. I wonder if the Eagles make him a priority, but very low salary signing. I think they wanted to bring him back to the roster after cuts last year but he got claimed. I think he showed a lot of promise at Center. Would be more than happy with him as the backup.

He's rated as one of the best pure centers in this class. Not sure we have the luxury to spend a higher pick to back up Cam and not really being a fit at guard. The d-line needs multiple quality additions in the first couple rounds, I wouldn't be thrilled burning a pick on a pure center. I'm fine with an o-lineman but one that could play multiple spots. I don't think Wilson would be that do to his size.

Trevor Keegan took some snaps at center at last year's Senior Bowl.  I think they need to cross train him this year

To be fair, it did or it didn’t

I would guess they start the season with Fields and a draft pick

All that is tangential to the fact that "Day 3 guy or UDFA” is buying injury insurance for Cam at a very very very low price. Essentially no insurance at all.  Do you really want to rely on an unheralded rookie to be your starting Center in a Super Bowl campaign?

Yeah I think people take for granted that Kelce started 1 million games in a row and expect it to happen again. We should have a backup who we are comfortable starting 4 games.  Maybe that can be Keegan but it needs to be somebody

Tbh the Lattimore trade was a win for the saints. He’s not nearly as good as he was 3 years back. Got a 3rd, 4th and a 6th for Lattimore and a 5th. That’s great value on a corner that can’t stay healthy, declining and making 18 and 18.5 against the cap the next two years

NDGT is the smartest moron on planet earth.

Remember deflategate? He proved the Patriots were guilty on Twitter.

2 minutes later someone pointed out the game was played on planet earth and then it was back to the drawing board. womp womp womp!

Now he's got this nugget. The tush push is impossible to stop because the Eagles are using the earth. They all have their feet on the ground and its too much of that forcey physics stuff!

So there is no planet on the defensive side of the ball now? They can't also use the earth?

Gates is not the answer. Didn’t you watch the CCG? We had two guys playing on one leg each because they couldn’t trust their backup center. And both of them are having off-season surgery.

How is he not a fit?

I have no idea if the player under discussion can play or not, but I do fully expect the Eagles to draft a backup center on day three of the draft. They tried it last year, and though it didn't work out, it certainly proves that the organization knows it's a position of concern. It's not really a comfortable position to be in when your starting left guard is your backup center and you're forced to move him there in a critical situation.
