I don't understand extending Barkley at all. Want to see the contract details, but feels dumb.

He asked the fans for patience and that the moves might be surprising. Well this certainly is surprising!

The issue with Milton Williams, and the reason to let someone else overpay him, is that it seems highly possible/likely that his success is due to playing next to Jalen Carter. And the best evidence o

I think/hope that it is redoing the 2 years left and not adding 2 more years to the deal.

I don’t think so. The combine coupled with a dominant senior bowl showing helped him a lot.

His college production is a little concerning though.

There are very few college players with low production that go on to exceed that production at the next level.  So, for me, that's a red flag.

Can only assume that it's allowed them to prorate some money out of 2025 with void years, because otherwise like you I don't understand it at all.

Barkley clearly outperformed his contract and won OPOY. It's a good signal to the locker room.

At the same time, it's very risky. We'll see what the true guarantees are. My guess is that only the first year of that extension is truly guaranteed.

A 'Thanks for getting Us to the Super Bowl' raise

Assuming they'll let Gainwell walk and draft another RB to add to the room?

Great, torn ACL in training camp coming up

I think it's going to be additional. He already had $11M guaranteed this year and now has $36M more guaranteed. $47M guaranteed over the next two years is crazy. I'd guess it basically guarantees his 2026 season, 2027 might have a rough out, 2028 will be the easy out. Howie is going to want to stretch out that guaranteed money through options.

So is he signed through 2027 now or 2028 or 2029?

Berman thinks this increases the chances the Eagles get Garrett.

Blasphemous!

Have the gimp bite @olsilverhair's tongue

I think Gainwell was done when he did way worse than Shipley when he got the start in week 18, he's clearly just a guy who can do an adequate job in relief behind the best line in football rather than a decent running back in his own right.

Could be $36mm over the next 2 I guess

Some of the Philly Dawgs were an exception but it was somewhat quantifiable.

They were so dominant and so deep that none of them played 50 snaps a game to get those accumulation stats.

He deserves it although I think this isn't the best roster management. They should focus on preserving him more now.

Would rather they just add a bunch more incentives. Extending a RB this much is not my favorite move

Yeah, he’s the #2 DT in my eyes.

Where do you put Harmon?

These mock drafts are beyond stupid....I can't even fathom that people try and make a career out of doing them.  There is no way to account for trades, no way to account for stupidity (by certain teams) and no way to know what teams value what players.  It's nothing more than an exercise of trying to guess and that's it.

If you can get people to pay you for the attempt, then that's why people try to make it a career.  30 years ago, it wasn't a thing.  But today, its big business.  Lots of folks are trying to hitch their wagon to the gravy train.

Travon Walker has come around... had he been drafted outside of #1, I'm not sure anyone would be complaining.

Great! Too bad he won't be there.

A lot of people said that about Jordan Davis, Jalen Carter and Quinyon Mitchell in years gone by.   There's always hope.

Maybe it cleans up 2026 a bit instead?

I used to be able to figure all of this out even with the void years but these option bonuses stacked on option bonuses that are treated differently on different sites... I have no idea anymore.

Yeah not a wise long term decision
