It’s almost like you’re not even respondingo the point he made. That is the very definition of straw man

No one is saying the Chiefs cannot field an NFL caliber team. What is being said is that the Chiefs blatantly had talent voids to counter what the Eagles were doing in the SB. Jalen was fortunate not to be the Chiefs’ QB that day. Doesn’t mean we don’t appreciate Jalen, but hyperbole isn’t necessary.

DUH! I have not been talking about the Super Bowl. Who is clueless now?

I was talking about Mahomes no longer being a statistical top 5 regular season QB over the last 2 years because he is clearly and obviously not.

  • The straw man was throwing Burrow in.
  • The straw man was making it only about the Super Bowl.
  • The Galactus sized straw man was the pocket universe where Hurts is not good on a random non-Eagles team.

I have countered all of this with examples from reality.

The next shoe to drop is probably Goedert, one way or the other. I think either extension/restructure or trade.

I thought someone said a trade wouldn't be a cap relief?

We will see, I think it's beyond a long shot at 32.

We thought that about Nolan Smith at 30 too.

The Bears trading for Jonah Jackson tells me Becton is getting paid. Admittedly Jackson had success while playing for Johnson in Detroit, he was a total disaster last year.

Assuming Becton leaves I’d be fine with it. If he’s re-signed as I suspect, then go with Harmon. Realistically, Booker won’t be there though.

Even if Booker was there, I wouldn't want him. Ponderous.

It wasn't a random team, it was the Chiefs because you specifically brought up Mahomes.

You're so backwards you don't even know what's being said.

The argument that the Eagles had a more talented roster this past season? They very clearly do.

If you're so excited about KCs roster, maybe head to the Chiefs message board.

I don't remember him being this delusional on the old boards

Great, torn ACL in training camp coming up

Howie will have purchased injury insurance to hedge that risk.

I had put him on ignore once in the past and couldn't remember why, so I removed him.

Now it makes sense lmao

Someone should get Frank Gore to do a 48 hour live stream during the tampering window.

The problem is it opens a door you don't really want open though. Why should CJGJ now not ask for more money after 1 year of his 3 year deal?

I don't know, that's why the GMs get paid the big bucks to make those decisions and deal with players that might complain. I would imagine the players recognize there are certain MVP level players on the team vs everyone else. If it's rewarding a player and also extending a contract to help the team spread out the cap, Howie has done that before with other players. Yet they keep having free agents sign here, star players take less money to stay here instead of going to other teams like Smitty and Dickerson did. So I'm trusting what Howie is doing and not panicking about potential hypotheticals before they happen.

You said Hurts would be bad if he wasn't on the Eagles. (or he needed a running game) it was something hypothetical and stupid like that. Go reread your own posts.

It doesn't. Reddick was never MVP finalist and it didn't stop him.

And he sat waiting for a deal, got fined, and it didn't work out for him. Meanwhile the GM that let him go put together the #1 defense in the NFL and won a championship. So I'm not worried if CJGJ will be upset that Barkley got some more money.

And it’s all been for naught. All you’re doing is making the entire board think less of you. No one is bashing Hurts, you’re letting your emotions derail your point

If anyone who played with Barkley this year does not get that he was the unicorn then I wish them well on the Hassan Reddick career destruction path.

And it certainly paid off for him (Reddick)

Reddick couldn't have screwed himself more.  Lost millions by sitting out several games.  Played on a horrific team.  Lost a ring.  And now he won't command the money he would have received if he played out his contract as teams will be very wary of him from his attitude and lack of production last year.  He will need to sign an incentive laden contract.

This isn't a slight at Hurts, be he wouldn't sniff the SB with no run game, a bad offensive line and his best weapon being an old TE on the verge of retirement.

Few QBs can drag an offense that poor to a Superbowl even with a good defense.

Very clearly talking about the Chiefs. In that game their line was poor, they had no run game and their best weapon (going into the game) was a washed TE that's about to retire within the next year or so.

I never said Hurts would be bad. I said if he was dealing with the team that showed up on that night he wouldn't have sniffed the Superbowl. What I did state *specifically* was that I wasn't slighting Hurts. It was to illustrate how poor KC was.

So maybe you should read the post.

That’s why I asked last week what people thought the percentage was of none of our big four free agents coming back. I think it’s higher than people think if I was giving percentages on them I would go like this.

1 back: 60%
2 back: 20%

3 back: 1%
4 back: 0%

none back: 19%

Its like 4 to 7 of you. The delusions of grandeur where you think you are right about everything is some truly goofy stuff.

Use ignore. I will be fine without 4 people who think Mahomes is a god and 3 others that can't read.

One of you has been on my ignore for years. I only see his blather because he gets quoted a bunch. I don't miss his venom.

He’s going to sustain a massive injury in that three year period given his age and workload. Poor investment IMO.

That possibility is what Howie buys insurance for.

True, but he did have size and other concerns. Nolen is the #2 DT in the class. My belief is it's extremely remote at 32.

I just like that this really cements Saquon Barkley as a Philadelphia Eagle. When he hangs them up, he's going to be remembered as an Eagle. If he goes to the HOF, it's as an Eagle. Some guys are brought in and they never really feel like they belong or are in it 100%. There's no question with Barkley. He said he wants to be remembered as an Eagle and he will be.

Side note. This must be KILLING the Giants fans right now. The Eagles signed him to 2 contracts in less than a year and they couldn't even give him one.

I'm sorry, I gave you way too much credit. I thought you meant Hurts would be bad on a random bad team.

You played the classic put Hurts on a 15-1 Chiefs team where he can add a turbocharger to the run game and he would be bad.

Goodbye now. Enjoy thinking things like that. I hope it works for you.

Today was another reminder that analysts and reporters that cover the NFL have absolutely zero clue how the cap works or how to evaluate moves in relation to efficiency of cap dollar allocation.
